i actually met her on 2 occasions, she really is a gracious and elegant lady, the 1st was just passing the second time we spoke for 5mins,i didnt feel worthy, but she is very approachable and totally humble.
When I was a young boy, I had such a crush on her. Now, that I am 64, I still do!! A wonderful woman who is a wonderful actress!! Thanks for being you, Halley!!
I am almost 27 now, but I grew up watching her movies because my mom loved them :) She was a well loved celebrity in my home. One Christmas about four years ago I bought my mom all of the movies that Hayley Mills did with Disney.
I guess it's clear we all love(d) Hayley; she was such fun and I couldn't wait for her movies either. What a sweet and lovely human being; wishing her nothing but happiness and love. :-)
I feel like The Trouble With Angels is a real Hayley favorite. Almost a bit of a cult fclassic for afficniados yet hardlyasked about or mentioned in Hayley's repertoire.
Glad you liked the video clip. Hayley was indeed a very charming lady. We will be showing an interview with Liza Goddard this Friday so if you're in the UK and can watch BBC Oxford again I'd recommend it! All the best
Congratulations to Hayley Mills, for having interpreted the orphan girl in the movie POLLYANNA. Movie splendid, full of life lesson!! Just me, watch 12 times!
I saw POLLYANNA with my mother, first run, Palace Theater in Calgary Alberta Canada. I remember it like yesterday. This stunning young actress stole my heart (I was 12 or 13 at the time - and in love with Hayley Mills). THE PARENT TRAP just sent me over the top with Hayley (double, as she played 2 parts). IN SEARCH OF THE CASTAWAYS was brilliant, and again I was in love with Hayley. Later I saw TIGER BAY - (by then I had seen the Billy Wilder film ONE, TWO, THREE with Horst Buchholz), and was amazed with her performance at that young age. God bless you Hayley - I know you were one influence to get me into the movie business.
I first saw Hayley's The Parent Trap when I was 11 and rarely had the chance to go to the movies and I fell in love! I am only 4 years younger then she is and I have seen her movies dozens and dozens of times. I still watch them all the time. Own most of her films on DVD right up to the fourth Parent Trap film, Parent Trap, Hawaiian Honeymoon. I am a huge movie fan but I have to say she's my favorite....I not only watch movies but scrutinize the film and research the making of films including Hayley's movies. I would love to meet with her and chat one day but that will never happen I know. So the next best thing would be able to write to her...does anyone know if there's a fan club or agent I could send a letter to?
mikelheron20 .. How do you go from seeing an otherwise perfectly spelled post to "can't spell"? If that were the case, his entire comment would have been a shambles. What is wrong with people like you?
It seems she wasn't treated any better by her parents that year than she was by the fictional Aunt Polly. I can't believe her parents never told her about the award ceremony. It's interesting that she had to stop the interviewer from talking about it so she wouldn't get mad all over again.
OH SHUT UP...SHE'S TODAY (2016) 69 FOR GOD SAKE LEAVE HER ALONE SHE LIVES IN A COUNTRY THAT DOESN'T RELY ON looks and plastic........they hire by talent and that's it.
I was being complimentary to her. I was saying she looks 20yrs younger especially when she smiles. I love the woman. I was an extra in the film Family Way. As a ten yr old, I was flattered that she took time to chat to me.
negara54 ... sucker punching and then complimenting is how abusers play mind games. The compliment doesn't undo the sucker punch. You don't have any victims trapped alone in the room without anyone to point out they may be right and you are playing mind games. having said that, the response was a little over-emotional... probably someone who's dealt with too many mind game players and tired of it.
