This a great system and it builds upon the basics that came with the Hayward ProLogic platform. As a Prologic PS8 owner I wish that Hayward would consider a migration path for its existing ProLogic customers in an effort to transition them to the better OmniLogic platform. If many of the existing ProLogic owners were offered pricing that made sense and didn't make them loose their initial ProLogic investment I'm sure many would upgrade. I'm sure Hayward is having to spend the majority of the R&D on OmniLogic as apposed to ProLogic. Having a single platform is better to reduce complexity and reduce support costs.

Ben, you are right, USB ports are not revolutionary and as you already know are pretty common in computers. Where they are revolutionary is in pool controls. No pool controller or really any pool product prior to OmniLogic came with a USB port. If you wanted to upgrade your firmware, you needed to call someone that had a special programming machine or you needed to replace the board or chip on the board. With the USB port, we are giving you access to be able to upgrade to new versions of firmware as they come out or to back up your configuration, so if something goes wrong, you will not have to have someone try to remember how it was originally configured.

@@HaywardPoolProducts I'm just poking fun at you, it's a nice looking system for sure! :) Does it have wired Ethernet/LAN connectivity instead of WiFi by any chance? I'm not a fan of WiFi at all....

The OmniLogic and OmniHub both have ethernet connections for direct connections to the home routers.
