That sounds like something Charlie would do, I mean she was able to wait for Adam to redeem himself (and he has more kills, many more, than Hitler)the only problem was that his personality was shitty, extremely shitty.
While I do agree, it feels more like a social meta-narrative than it does a comedy, and that the “jokes” are mainly there to take away from the severity and give it a more lighthearted, cartoonish feel. Vivz has designed her hell shows and characters specifically around circus themes, it’s woven into the very identity of the show.
Sir Pentious really shows how the team treats their characters. They introduce him, set him on a redemption path, even give him some character development over the course of his appearances in the show, and then just kill him off for shits and giggles. Best character in the show, keep in mind.
Yeah, I think he is the only one of trully likeable character (beside Niffty for me, which is the "amusing" type, not really likeable). Innocent in some way, seriously wants to get better, quite funny without being vulgar or rude, but also could be a pretty strong serious character. He would be a great example that someone goofy and very flawed can be a good person, as a good person doesn't need to be perfect.
i guess people rather go to hell, than in world they can truly be happy and live forever, but who tf wants that. Living is hell, so i rather be in hell.
I clicked on this video because the thumbnail made me think "this guy was willing to put on clown make up for this video, this must be worth my time" I'm only a minute and a half in and I can definitely say it is worth my time (also I really like the editing, vfx, and writing- basically everything lol)
I wanna add to this by listing off all the characters who have daddy and or relationship issues. Hazbin 1. Charlie 2. Angel Dust I legit don't know anymore for Hazbin bc I only watched the first 2 episodes Helluva Boss 1. Blitzø 2. Millie 3. Moxxie 4. Stolas 5. Verosika 6. Octavia
The ONE joke that made me laugh in the entire season was when Niffty was being filmed, where it turned out she’s extremely camera shy and she just stares back in complete silence. Genuinely great character gag. I also can’t stop thinking about how those seconds of silence were legit way funnier than any written line to me.
I love the theory that since might have been from the era of silent film, she just thought that all her dialogue would be added with big text on a black screen and she would just do the physical stuff.
@@matijasostojic4288 Pretty sure she was from the 50s/60s, which was a couple decades after then. She’d be “atomic era.” Plus, even if that were the case for the theory, she didn’t do any physical acting other than shut down and stare, so I don’t believe it really holds up. Edit: I was wrong, she is from the 20s apparently.
The swearing criticism is especially painful considering alastor was supposed to be one of the characters that doesn't swear but then they gave him that cringe ass line "im about to end your fucking life"
It made sence with the pilot and helluva boss because RU-vid will gladly enlarger their RU-vid kids collection without checking the material, but hazbin hotel is a literal tv show.
Yeah that line made me want to kms. I feel when Alastor said "fuck you" to Lucifer, Viv realized everyone liked that and made him swear again even when it didn't fit his character.
Thank you... Just, Thank You! For pointing that out. I genuinely cringed so hard at that line. My teeth began to hurt! (I clenched my jaw pretty tight.)
I hate that line lmao, it sounds so forced and edgy for the sake of edginess (you can arguably describe the entire show the same way lol) . The simple "fuck" he says when his staff breaks was far more impactful, given he rarely swears. would've been perfectly fine if they took out that "fucking life" line and just left the other imo
If Adam was basically the exact same but had a red color scheme instead of gold and batwings instead of bird wings, hed fit right in with the rest of the hotel patrons and all the fandom would be screaming how hes not evil just misunderstood and in need of a hug. I think a lot of these fans just haven't experienced the loss of a loved one to another person. If they had a friend or family member whose life was taken, they would have a much different perspective of characters like Alastor
Hazbin Hotel pacing is like what if Gravity falls just reveal Bill is the main villain in the first episode, and Stanley just died in the 3 episodes, and there are no fucking mystery everything just reveal it self like right away.
Exactly. Hazbin Hotel is the exact opposite of Gravity Falls in terms of storytelling. Gravity Falls built up its mysteries over the course of several episodes because Alex Hirsch already knew what he was gonna do during each of the 2 seasons and planned accordingly. But, Hazbin Hotel clearly wasn't planned nor outlined well enough even though it took 4 YEARS for any episode to come out after the pilot. Which is disappointing to say the least.
The difference between the two and I'll mention owl house as an example to contrast to hazbin is One actually has a competent writer who develops the characters
she says thousends of innocents?do people just jump out the number? and it's not like in heaven the angels can't sympathize with the sinners themselves (for a reason Sera didn't want the extermination to be know by all heaven)
@@harmonys965 Those are the hellborn, who aren't called sinners. The sinners are the ones who WERE human on Earth before dying, and it was mentioned by Adam himself that there was an agreement that the hellborn wouldn't be targeted during the exterminations. I'm neutral on Hazbin hotel, I went into it as someone who liked the pilot back in 2019. My opinion started shifting after episode 5 or 6 though when they added a "grape" joke where Sir Pentious gets dragged away to be "graped" while he is screaming. All this comes comes after episode 4 that was all about how bad sexual abuse is. Adam could've been an incredibly nuanced and interested character, considering almost everyone in hell is one of his descendants, but instead they turned him into Andrew Tate. What a bunch of hacks.
This is why I sensed it was a bad idea from day one to implement actual religious figures in this shit. Just keep it simple and silly, but with space for nuance and drama. Lucifer is the devil but his kid is a good person and the angels don't want to hear then out. And that thing with Adam? I don't like how it felt like they were pushing "hahaha bible sexist and bad" and while it nay be sexist at some points, it still doesn't make me comfy.
@@FayeLawnKrack3dFor me as a Christian, I just wish the characters were less 2 dimensional. The fact that every single character swears is so.. immature in a way? And it seems to me to be bad character writing. Not everyone in hell goes to hell for swearing LMAO, and I’d think it be more interesting to have a few characters in hell act good or what society thinks of what is good, but deep inside be a really terrible person. Or have the angels be “saints” but then in reality be high and mighty and conniving on the inside. I’m not quite sure why they even had Adam make so many s3x jokes and swearing jokes, to make it edgy? Or surprise viewers? Shock factor? I just don’t get it. Also in my opinion the bible isn’t sexist. It has so many strong women characters in it who were respected and did a lot in the Bible. Jesus stopped a woman from getting stoned for committing adultery, saying that only the person who has not sin may cast the stone (Which obviously none of them could do because at the end of the day we’ve all sinned at some point) Its not excusing adultery, but pointing out the hypocrisy. Also the fact that she was supposedly found in bed with the man, yet the man was nowhere there and no doubt let off the hook, is hypocrisy and sexist of the people who wanted to stone her. Jesus also thought highly of the woman who bathed his feet in her best of perfume, and if I remember correctly, a lot of the men looked down on her for that, but Jesus stood up for her. A sister was 🍇d by her brother, it was obvious that the sister was not blamed in the eyes of the lord, but that the brother had done something very evil. And here’s even a direct quote from the bible. Gal. 3 Verses 28 to 29 [28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Why would God say we are all one no matter our race, gender, or richness, but also be sexist? And some people do take quotes out to say it’s sexist such as: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” But immediately on the next line is this: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.” Husbands should love their wives, which is essentially also respecting them. And wives do the same. A commandment to love one another is hardly sexist.
Man I just LOVE your editing style, the part where Hitler blinked in sync with the song "it starts with sorry"... it's just brilliant and it bugs me so much that the show's narrative is "everyone can be redeemed" - I wonder what Charlie would do if Valentino wanted to check in to the hotel
@@Flazefire I think that as for Hitler the authors will come up with the most lamest excuses why he did not come to the hotel: "he feels good in hell and doesn't want to go anywhere." Or more likely: "his soul was destroyed during extermination" - if it will become canon, then Vivzie will shoot herself in the knee, because it will be a fat and strong argument that the angels in her hands have again become heroes, but Vivzie will try to come up with something like: "on white and black the world is not divided; angels can do both good but GENERALLY bad things, such as extermination" - then she can be pricked with an additional question: "are you saying it's bad that angels destroyed Hitler's soul?" - these are all edgy jokes, but most likely Vivzie just will ignore such questions by the advice of other writers and won't metion it in the show. Or Vivzie will make it a stupid joke: Hitler appears on the doorstep of the hotel, and Charlie shouts: "No! We will try to redeem souls, but not his!"
@@FlazefireHonestly that would be a truly edgy and interesting topic. If someone like Hitler or Stalin came to the hotel and genuinely wanted to change and be redeemed, should that be allowed? My personal opinion is no which is why I'm kinda an Adam defender
This take is criminally underrated. Even when I watched it I was so weirded out by the fact that Charlie wants to redeem demons that could basically be pedos, murders, and everything under that rotten apple tree. Like... "Huh... huhhh...."
Also, for a show focused on redemption… when do we address these sinners sins on earth? Seriously, Angel Dust/Anthony was in the Mafia. He killed people, peddled drugs, etc. so when the hell do we dive into them?
Thank you! This is why Adam kinda had a point and I get so annoyed when ppl say Adams evil or corrupt. Like Adams "villain" song actually has a point. The ppl in hell had their whole lives to make good choices and they constantly made bad ones so now they're in hell. And it's not like the exorcists are killing innocent civilians or babies or puppies; they're killing evil ppl like pedos, murderers, Nazis, cannibals, etc. The only thing u can dock Adam for being a villain for is how he enjoys the killing for pleasure but again he's killing genuinely horrible people.

It's about the fandom more than the actual property itself. The story itself isn't good, but there are a lot of appealing characters and a world with juuuust enough lore that you can insert yourself into it through either making your own OC or writing fanfic about the existing ones. Homestuck, Harry Potter, Twilight, the YA dystopias of the 2010s, etc all had aspects of this formula.
You are really talking out of your ass if you really think that. Hazbin has actual depth and way more merit then Twilight and it's stories aren't even that bad and have adult defenders. Twlight though? Not so much. Nah Hazbin is still pretty popular reall. Not really, adults like Hazbin too and Hazbin fans knowing Twilight is bad doesn't prove your point it only proves that people know that Twilgiht is terrible and can see that and that Hazbin really isn't that bad.

Adam is such an easy fix as a villain: Why is he so insistent on, takes a huge pleasure on exterminations of hellborns and sinners or perhaps he even suggested them? Cuz Lilith was the first woman God made for him and yet she ditched him for Lucifer, so this is revenge on hellborns that are technically Lilith's children, population control is a positive side effect the high angels approved and thought is the original plan There, i gave Adam a plan, a motivation and a backstory
wow you commited a error in your story, Adam only kills sinners (but he will also wanted to kill hellborn but it was a prevented by a rule from Lucifer)and the population control is just in the pride ring, not in all hell and by the way that is a problem for HELL not a thing that Heaven has to get involved into it. they are not even countries, they are different realms completely.
I do love how Adam being first man has absolutely no purpose other than giving him and Lucifer extra reasons to be mad at each other. Which also isnt really relevant
Also since vivzie is using Christian and Jewish stories adam would unironically be considered a rape victim since uh... Lilith raped him in his sleep, got pregnant and gave birth to the first demons 😐. Also since the sinners outnumber the hellborne by like 100:1 apparently, there's a much more simple way of explaining why the exterminators exist: its to make sure the sinners don't overthrow the hellborne. Adding the angels and all makes things so much dumber and sillier since there's no logic to their actions, but hell borne demons killing sinners out of fear of revolution? That's way more interesting.
About the dying in hell part: I think vivziepop said that when you die in hell to something that is not an angelic weapon, you just kinda „respawn“. It‘s supposed to be extremely painful and agonizing, and I’m pretty sure that‘s where the whole „punishment“ system in hell comes from.

"if hell is forever then heaven must be a lie if angels can do whatever and remain in the sky" angels cant do. whatever though. lucifer was an angel. he was sent to hell for breaking the rules. he is not still in the sky VIVZIE.
Like you dont have to be the biggest Christian to know that Lucifer thought he knew better then God, fucked around and found out why God is the big G, and him and his followers got punished for it. Its literally the most basic story you can tell about Lucifer, he fucked around and found out.
Eh, the show actually has (in the most forced way possible) supporting context for this with the exterminators. They’re not according to the law, but are supported anyway in violation of it. That’s something, but getting there requires a lot of bad or nonsensical worldbuilding.
That line is more revealing about Vivienne Medrano's personal beliefs than it is a genuine deconstruction of a flawed/unjust system. People like Vivziepop don't prescribe to the idea of truth to power -- the precept that the more grounded in reality and truth you are, the better version of yourself, and therefore more powerful, you become. They subscribe to power to truth: the (false) post-modernist belief that they can determine fact from fiction, good from evil, and how the universe itself functions, if only they can gain enough power. The dramatic irony of this fallacy is that it is a cornerstone of the narcissism that got Lucifer banished to outer darkness for eternity. He thought he could do a better job of being God than God, and that he only needed to usurp the throne and (somehow...) take all His power to prove it. Lucifer thought all God's commandments were arbitrarily imposed, and not that He had a good reason for commanding them; that they might be precepts He Himself had or has to live by. Vivzie getting her edgi Tumblr OCs to reee "angels can do whatever" in maudlin musical number is pure projection in its most malignant form. The power-to-truth cult think that if they can get ultimate power, they can make fiat decrees until the universal laws of cause and effect no longer applies to them (this is also the prime directive of the so-called "ruling class"). They don't consider hypocrisy to be a fatal flaw of their beliefs, the consider hypocrisy to be their dogma's greatest _feature._ It is their *_goal_* to be as hypocritical as possible, because it is a sign to them that the have completely insulated themselves from the consequences of their actions, and thus can be as wicked and vice-driven as they please without karma ever being able to touch them. So Vivzie projecting that "do as thou wilt" prerogative onto the angels because she and her power-to-truth cultists, if they acknowledge God at all, think He has achieved ultimate power and is thus by nature being a oppressive hypocrite, *_because that's what they more or less want to be._* For a show supposedly about "rEdEmPtIoN" (that shifts gears to "screw it, we'll just kill the angels"), it's pretty clear that Vivienne fears for herself because of the things she's done, but she doesn't actually want to repent or be redeemed; she wants to sin as she pleases and never be punished for it. She thinks she can save herself and live "free" (as a slave to her temptations) if she can "defeat Heaven," and she thinks she can defeat Heaven by denying it. If you really look at it all, from Hazbin to the most blood-drenched ideologies of post-modernism, it's all nothing more than the behavior of spoiled, recalcitrant children, sneering in contempt at their parents for making them behave, thinking if they could just get rid of their parents, they could do whatever they want and not be punished, when they're too ignorant and egocentric to even fathom the concepts of morality, the civil society, or even budgets and bills. Jimmy Frickin' Neutron had a stronger moral core and grasp of reality than Vivziepop, Hazbin Hotel, and it's legions of puerile stans.

I don’t hate the show, it is clearly made with a lot more passion than the slop we often get from big budget studios nowadays, though the way it is clearly breeds “you either absolutely rabidly love the show” or “you absolutely really hate the show” type discussion due to these very polarizing concepts, those who enjoy the voice acting and the performances and the humor directly opposing those who clung to the promise of a deeper show beneath, and Viv definitely does not help it because of the fact she responds on Twitter as much as she does and is a controversial figure regardless of whether you think she is innocent or not of certain matters. Those who see “the glass is half full” are willing to excuse the failures with hope for the future, or just genuinely don’t see them, and those on the flipside have their experience ruined because of these especially volatile failures which cause some parts of the final product to become highly questionable when put under scrutiny and “oops, it’s all controversy” making matters worse.
The difference is South Park actually has something to say and Family Guy at the very least exists to be an easy cash grab IP. Hazbin really has no reason to be this way or even exist at all.
30:54 that part just made me die inside. Helluva boss and hazbin hotel both suffer from the problem of stereotyping sexualitys. Its like gays and pans are always h0rny, asexuals just hate everything about relationships, and bi’s are always the sweet innocent ones so on so fourth I will say that hazbin did a better job with husk’s sexuality because he is pan but he isnt a s3x addict
@@MrSex-gz3lb I'm asexual too and this is a little off topic but is it just me or when people say we can't ship Alastor with someone because he's canonically asexual makes me weirded out? They act as if asexuals cannot be in relationships (I have a partner who I love dearly
@@Woirmen I think that they just don't know the difference between asexuality and aromanticism. I love my partner to pieces too, even though I'm not sexually attracted to him.
Saying bi ppl are stereotyped as sweet and innocent is actually kinda flabbergasting to me ☠️ majority of bi people I have ever interacted were one of the most unhinged and humorous ppl I have ever seen 😭
Excellent review and all, but what I really wanna congratulate you on the most is the editing. This has got to be one of the funniest reviews I've ever seen from the visual gags alone. I can't imagine how much effort was put into this video. Great stuff!
i just wanna add that the stick it to the man bit is most likely a reference to the school of rock musical, because the guy who voiced adam was an og cast member on broadway. but like, they could’ve stuck the reference anywhere else lol.
@@Flazefire I thought of that line as sinners possibly misinterpreting what it means.... Someone might think that "stick it to the man" is as simple as giving some jerk in power the middle finger. Trust me, pretty sure MOST sinners in hell have thought about doing that kind of action once.
The whole concept of the Show with Heaven being the evil and Hell being good makes it feel like this was written by an edgy 15-year-old who hates his Parents for bringing him to Church on Sundays.
Correction: Adam and the extermination is evil, most of heaven is good or actually just irrelevant (for now) Most of hell is evil, but Charlie wants to change them for the good. Better
What sucks even more is that this show doesn't use its Christian source material creatively. To the point where Lucifer's origin story is just a rip-off of Prometheus's story instead of the biblical Lucifer story. They also could've made Alastor secretly use the power of God as the voodoo he practices incorporates Christianity in it. And from how creepy and spooky Alastor's powers look, it could hint that God is absolutely terrifying, sending the classic Christian message that the only thing you should fear is God. But they never do that, which is sad.
So true... Also, hell should BE Hell. It doesn't have to be biblically accurate. Just a nuanced portrayal of it that really hits the point how sinners are actually suffering in unspeakable/graphic ways. (Basically where it's Not. An offshoot of LA.)
I do find it a bit funny how they try to use Christianity as the base to explore the idea of being irredeemable and what will get you into heaven when the entire religion is all about how no matter what you do you will NOT EVER be good enough to get to heaven and so God comes down as Jesus and pays the price for you so you can go to heaven. You can’t “subvert” Christianity when you fail to understand its most basic beliefs.
@@katrinademontia456say it louder for people in the back. Cuz I swear I’m getting so sick of the argument “it’s her own interpretation of hell” Mf her interpretation of hell is super bare bones and yet barely delves in to thoses topics. You can’t have a show that is so based in Christianity then refuse to delve further in the concept. Atleast so something interesting It’s epically stupid cuz the show meant it be critical of Christianity.
@G.N.F462 they could've used more morally gray elements more subtly, such as using Mastema, a fallen angel or demon in the Book of Jubilee that despite being a fallen angel or demon, is still loyal to God and only answers to Him. His main job is the extermination of individuals who are deemed "beyond saving." Some describe Mastama as "God's Hitman." Like make him the leader of the Exterminators or perhaps the shadow leader of I.M.P. This brings up the question that "if God is so good and benevolent, why would He be okay with having an angel that disgraced Heaven work for him?" Or again, Alastor, make Alastor a servant of God who is here in Hell for a purpose. A purpose that Alastor doesn't know but the Lord above has spoken to him to do. As a gift and tool, give him some of His power to fulfill this purpose. This purpose was revealed to be helping sinners worthy of redemption and purging those beyond saving.
@@duskdweeb1368 exactly ! Or even maybe have so the kid in the cannibal town. Have it were because those kid were not baptized they instantly damn to hell. Not only would be an interesting criticism of belief that “if you don’t baptized you kid they go to hell” but it would also show something is wrong with the system. It kinda frustrates me cuz such it’s such an easy. Also that idea you said is pretty cool, I’ve heard bit about that fallen angel but never looked into it. Might save that for story I’ll make
As a Vivziepop fan, you just scratched surface, I used to be friends with a huge Charlie fan. To the point he actively talked about cutting a hole in his Charlie plush and doing heinous things with it. And sent photos sometimes of his aftermath. Glad I left him now
exactly like the payoff would be way better and the plot idea he shared would be season 1 with clues to s2 angels, i don’t think angels should have even been introduced in the FIRST EPISODE
no it should've been the season 4 ending, considering the show has been greenlit for that many seasons. why aren't the Vees, who were literally in the pilot and Valentino was eluded to and introduced in Addict...the season 1 antagonists, while Adam who wasn't even in the pilot...gets to be
Funny enough.Adam is one of the most complex characters unattentionally. A shity person coping as the man that doom Humanity to go to hell. And despite all his bad he in heaven. All this fancy stuff only.Gets lost when the plot forces him to be the evil villain, and even then, his action led to someone to go to heaven All because of this broken mess
Yeah that all sounds great, if it wasn't pure headcanon and works more for fanfics (in fact people have TOO MANY FANFICS with Adam basically being better than his original version, apparently people liked the idea that Adam was actually seriously destroyed for everything bad that happened to him) and it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the series left him completely dead and without the ability to come back, and any redeemable trait he has is having a friendship with Lute... and that's it. any other good thing he has is just people having headcanons about Adam own original story (which would not be bad, but considering this series has the same work flow has god of war in being ''accurate''to the original stories, i will doubt it even happened like that) just take a moment, to think how many things are different in God of War
@Joyscp999 It's not Really headcannon Until. Until the show shows otherwise using literally a character from a religion They're basic Of one's origins Is still in play. Comes with the territory Of using Somebody from a religion. Second , there's been multiple signs of him being insecure of not know Why He's in heaven. Not a lot But again Finally decides to tell what the character is actually thinking Unintentional depth can come from weird Places
@@ironbaysqiureg4827 1. actually it is until the series makes clear they are the same guy (or in this case, similarities enough to say it had the same story), just the pure fact that Adam is the first soul in Heaven already changes things, MANY THINGS, and no, it does not, creators are not forced to use the complete story of the characters from other stories, they can change them a bit for their own story and that it is 2.insecure?where?him asking Sera about him being in Heaven does not show a insecurity more like a ''come on Sera, help me out with this girl''which is what Adam wanted after all, he just wanted Charlie to fail for absolutely no reason beyond his pure hate towards her, for no reason beyond being the daughter of Lucifer.
Flaze I’m going to be honest this is my first video of you. That “Comedy is subjective” joke followed by silence got me to subscribe. Genuinely one of the best punchlines ever to me. I have now caught up on your catalog.
I'm also upset they never show austrian painter with his hellhound blondie or clown gacy walking his kitties with Epsteiner holding hands with Meaow zedong.
22:40 This part is why I tell people that powerscaling is cool and lowkey important "The author decides who wins" sounds smart on paper but that is just blatantly not the best way to go about things lol Because yeah, they can decide whatever happens because its their story And yeah, they might not be calculating exactly how many tons of TNT that character's punch was But does it make SENSE? Will the audience LIKE it? Authors still think about the rules and logical consistency in the story. What's BASIC WRITING 101! Hazbin Hotel does not establish a good powerscale and the series suffers even more
The problem with a lot of powerscaling is that it tends to ignore nuances and the personality of the characters. Like how some characters are _capable_ of things but would not _want_ to do them, for example.
@@PhoebeTheFairy56 Character induced Stupidity (when a character isn't working at their full potential due to character or personality reasons) gets factored into the discussion naturally Like for example DIO being cocky would not just frame1 timestop and punch someone into paste. That naturally gets factored into the discussion unless explicitly stated otherwise (that's why people often use the term "bloodlusted"; it means no strings attack, they're fighting with kiIIing intent) in fact, that often gets factored in when it comes to powerscaling! As sometimes a character is not working at their full potential for some reason, but it can be used to upscale them! So yes people factor in the nuances of the characters. Not everyone just seems them as some statsticks to match up against eachother lol it's a harmless debate about who'd win by comparing stats and feats; it keeps a community alive and promotes discussion I'm not saying powerscaling is perfect btw; there are certainly some buttheads who take things too far and get toxic lmfao But that applies to ALL things in life, especially fandom Why should powerscaling, an ultimately harmless practice, get more scrutiny than SHIPPING for example?
@@Sappysappster Character induced stupidity sounds like a bad name for it, like it's not stupid for a character to not want to use their full power when their full power could permanently harm their opponent. And I am the last person to be un-critical of shipping lol
@@PhoebeTheFairy56 Character-induced stupidity does not LITERALLY mean they are being called stupid dude lol It's a misnomer in its name It's just a catchall term that refers to the mental limits of a character that cause them to perform at below the true potential due to reasons >Superman not using his full power because it would bop (most) supervillains >The Flash not speedblitzing most of his opponents right off the bat because it would harm civilians and damage the environment. >Vegeta not kiIIing Cell then deciding to let him to absorb Android 18 and turn into his Perfect form since he wanted a stronger opponent. it is just a term for ease of use in discussion
Okok. So it's never said in the actual show, but only hellborn demons other than royalty can fully die by, y'know, dying by other people like stabbing or eating them, but Sinners just respawn when they "die" only angelic weapons can fully kill them.
Velvette in episode 2 kinda insinuates that though with this line of dialogue "You know the show can't wait for that unlucky bitch to pull herself back together"
You would think that most sinners would be running hell then since they literally cannot die unless a hellborne picks up an angelic weapon, which is an oxymoron in and of itself. In fact the overpopulation crisis can just be that, that sinners are outnumbering hellborne and could be a complete revolution. They have hellbornes cosplay as angels and use their weapons to kill sinners so as to keep the population down and oppressed.
Why is NO ONE talking about vivzie banning her former voice actors from doing charity work, the same charity work that helped her get to where she is right now?? She stopped them from doing charity work for one of the VA's partners who had CANCER. It should be talked about more that she's a horrible person, defending actual groomers and ridiculing those with eating disorder...
Not even the excuse of "They had to rush" works, since Hazbin was 7 years in the making. Just for comparison, the Shadow of the Colossus Creator's Game. The Last Guardian, took 10 Years. And Within the Industry of Animation, The Hungary Animator spends Six year to create "The Tragedy of Man" a Animated Movie so underrated and so Niche that you can watch free on RU-vid.
@@sofiantz2142 With effort it is possible to distribute this well, I am not a professional in production but let's try; Episode 1 introduce the hotel and all the staff, 2-3 focus on Mr Pentium4 to explore building paranoia and difficulties of an anxious person that grown up in a dangerous place when He is in a social and safe environment.(Subplot; Alastor and his feud with the Fox News Man) Episode 4-5-6 Angel Dust, he deserves three episodes and to write this episode they should consult 4 victims, 2 psychologists and a detective (Subplot; Alastor's relationship with Husk and Charlie, disagreements with Vaggie and Charlie) in the end Angel Dust is already recovering better and Charlie, after getting back together with Vaggie, has the courage to call his father and arrange a meeting with the angels. Episode 7 About the Angels and Alastor slowly showing his true intent when debating with lucife being thr Subplot. Episode 8 has the climactic ending with the Cliffhanger "YOU'RE AN ANGEL JUST LIKE USSSSSSS) and don't have subplots just a base for the season 2(Alastor council of the Overlords meeting and TV guy and Gang scheming something)
hazbin just feels as shallow as a puddle. the characters are intriguing and the designs are fine but very much not my thing, and the animations really well done............... its just that the show has absolutely nothing to say past that point except the fuck word LMAO
You're probably not going to see this but I'm going to put my comment here anyway. As an Autistic person what pissed me off about the show is that it promised me an interesting story about characters who start out as arseholes but over the course of the show we would see their hidden depths, we could've had flashbacks to see the characters lives and what actions they did to end up in Hell. We could've then see them all develop into better people and redeem themselves together. But instead we got a bunch of Cardboard cutouts with no depth, no backstory and all their "development" happens offscreen, and instead the show focuses on a much less interesting "HEAVEN IS ACTUALLY BAD!!!!!!" plot line which doesn't interest me anymore. what's worse is the fact it's now been confirmed that there's going to be at least four seasons, and the show was probably victim to the practice of green lighting two seasons but splitting them into four so they don't have to pay the animators as much, meaning they probably had SIXTEEN EPISODES OUT THE GATE. Meaning they could've had a much slower pace and actually did what the show was marketed and pitched to us as. ABOUT REDEMPTION. However, they were just too impatient to and crammed in as much as they could and also ditched the MAIN PREMISE OF THE SHOW meaning that it just feels disappointing. It's like a new restaurant pitching itself to you as a Steakhouse, you get interested in it and plan to go there, but when you get there you find out it's just a glamoured up fish and chip shop. Yeah sure some may enjoy it but it's not what I came for and I feel disappointed by it. I kinda what to do a rewrite of Hazbin Hotel (and just for a challenge try to fit the amount of time they have for each season) because I feel disappointed with Hazbin Hotel because it hooked me in with an intriguing premise and interesting characters but then failed to deliver it. The only good thing about Hazbin Hotel is the fact it's given me inspiration to rewrite it. XD
@@Sal_Bluefirewhy didn't Charlie bring all the cast to lucifer palace? In the pilot it was showed that the angels most likely don't hunt his place, because we see him surrounded by slavehol.... i mean, overlords
I remember when I was a kid When a lot of teenagers would watch Family Guy. Family Guy is a show rated M for mature, right? Because there’s so much swearing and it’s very cartoonish, I think a lot of teenagers like watching it. I think that’s kind of similar to what’s going on with Hazbin Hotel right now because there’s so much swearing it’s seen as a little bit childish. Therefore a lot of preteen are going to be watching it.
You described my thoughts on the show perfectly. Lost the main plot, too rushed, cringe dialogue, the "rules" for heaven and hell don't matter, etc. Also no body cared about the dragon thing dying because it only had 23 seconds of screen time thru the whole season.
The thing that made me stop watching the show after a few episodes is that every single “mature” topic-drugs, sex, abuse, etc.-felt like it was written by a child who has never had any experience with those things before. So when there were supposed to be comedic moments involving these topics, they fell completely flat and came across as out of touch with reality. I mean seriously, does VivziePop have the soul of a 12 year old piloting her body or something? For a show that says it’s for adults, it certainly demonstrated no familiarity or nuance with adult topics.
Indeed. The creator claims she's "adult" yet has no knowledge about said sensitive topics. She thinks dark humour = more adult which is the mindset of a kid introduced to darker media.
Yep. You summed up my thoughts exactly. No subtle maturity is being visualized or said. No exploration of important topics, themes, or thought provoking parallels to our current world. Characters are just mouthpieces for the writers instead of organic individuals who were unfortunate enough to spawn in hell. Suffice it to say. HH isn't "adult" media. Not in the slightest...
I personally find it shocking how many people have "Loser baby" as their favourite song from the show. I mean, Husker basically calls Angel Dust a loser for being...a victim of sexual abuse and r@pe. And according to Viv, Husker and Angel Dust are going to become an official couple later on in the show. I'm just sitting here and being, like, how's Husker any better than Angel's abuser Valentino when he basically tells Angel to accept his fate and *mocks* him for being abused? It's...just...my brain can't compute...
Flazefire, whenever you get famous, please dont forget us who's been around with you ever since 13k subs and under. I fucking love this channel And please dont diddle kids when you get famous
To be slightly fair, it was stated the only straight person in the hotel is niffty (implying pentious is not) (though you wouldnt know that from just watching the show)
You summarized the worst part (the fandom) perfectly. I've lost count on the number of times I've tried to say "Hey, I like these aspects of the show, but these other parts not so much." only to be met with supreme anger from someone who acted like I just murdered their pet. Fandoms lol
I remember watching the pilot in 2019 when I was 12 and thinking it was the coolest, funniest thing ever. Now I’m older I realise it’s not really that good
The worst part I think is how the entire plot could really just be extrapolated into an Earthly setting with significant amount of positive effect. for example, instead of heaven and hell, it could just be a conflict of 2 areas / districts in some country that are segregated by a huge wall of some kind where one side (hell) could be like Atlanta / Portland / NYC / Austin and the other (heaven) could be like Denmark / Luxemburg / Switzerland or something (I'm not European). just changing the names like that makes a lot of the show make more sense. like the killings of hell people makes sense, the fact that some hell people are not as bad as the others makes sense, how hell people can be born makes sense, how there's a bad guy within the governmental organization (Adam) makes sense, how people can "ascend" and "descend" into and out of the well-off district (heaven) makes sense, etc etc. Many of the things shown in the show that make its hell, HELL, seems to just be poverty and widespread degeneracy, while in what makes heaven in the show, heaven, seems to just be wealth and social security. I think what I'm trying to say is that Vivzie has been trying to write a story about real-world issues, and stuff but on the foundation of religious scripture like heaven and hell for nothing more than creative flare, if not some intended disrespect against religion in general, and it really shows.
You basically just described Arcane which, to be fair, is a great tv show. I agree tho that nothing about the setting feels like hell, they even reference that it feels like an actual city in Helluva Boss by comparing it to LA
If you look at it. Charlie is just vivziepop self insert character. Wanting to create a project while other external factors are rejecting her ambition.. seems familiar?
