Adam: Do you really have such a low opinion of me that I need your help to achieve freedom, angel? I have Paradise, the Earth is mine to rule, I can do whatever I want! Why would I throw that away for the vague promise of something better? You wanted to give me free will? I already have it. And I choose to say "No."
@@Birdpuffer Horrible to Sinners. You know, the pack of unrepentant murderers, cannibals, manipulators and rapists that choose to inflict the suffering they brought to others in their mortal life upon their fellows in damnation. And he isn't so much a degenerate as his is full of himself. He swears and indulges in food and women. Compared to what the average sinner does on a daily basis he is hardly the worst person in the universe.
Imagine a Hazbin Hotel AU where everything is almost the same except Adam ate the apple instead of Eve. (Eve probably didn't get more than a silly little apple but let's just say Adam in this universe got more than an apple😋) 2:14 Also, why does it low-key look like Luci was gonna pull Adam in and give him a little smooch (I'M SORRY)
The shot at 0:48 is so good. With Adam being in the dark while Lucifer is enlightened reflects that Adam doesn’t know the forbidden knowledge. I just love it!
Seeing Lucifer in angel robes makes him look so baby. It makes me wonder how his interactions with the other seraphim angels used to go. Surely they used to find him endearing before he fell, I mean look at him. Little Lucifer and his big dreams🥺😭 This was really good btw I love this song and I love how Lucifer looks in your art style.
you cooked with this, 10/10, lucifer gives me an eerie feeling with the eyes so much wider then adams, its giving uncanny valley and amazingly it makes it 100x better!
You know, I wonder: what kind of person was Adam in Garden of Eden. Like, since he was the first human, he is supposed to be the perfect version of both humanity and masculinity. And then yet, his two wives were rizzed by a short angel guy, and he himself fell from greatness. Was he always an asshole, or did the angels just didn’t cooked him up enough?
I would wager that, while the angels provided for all of Adam's physical needs while he was in Eden, they did not mentor him or filled the role of parental figures. Basically, they thought "He can walk and talk. He can take care of himself." and just left him to figure out everything on his own, resulting in his emotional development being stunted. On top of that, it certainly made him feel pretty lonely until Lilith came around. I can imagine he was very clingy with her, while simultaneously having no idea of how to treat another person with respect, wich came of to her as him being controlling and demanding. Her subsequent running off would have been fairly traumatizing for Adam, and get the idea into his head that nobody will ever love or give a damn about him. Wich he started coping with in the "It’s fine if nobody loves me, I can still love myself. I'm awesome, it's their loss for abandoning me." -way, and that over time, resulted in him developing the narcissistic personality we get treated to by the time the show takes place. Adam is essentially like the stereotypical high school bully with rich parents who never tell him "no", but are also never around to take care of or be there him, because their careers are more important to them then their accessory child.
This makes a lot of scenes if Lucifer asked Adam 1st & not Eve about what could happen if he ate the apple. 😏 And would NEVER will eat the apple since Adam truly believes in God with all his heart.❤
I love that Lucifer is shown in Angel clothing with the eye hat!! That detail is super cool considering this was while he was still an Angel if I’m not mistaken!
And the thing is, you can see that Adam and Luci here, at the time of Eden, are both more. . .innocent and naive and. . .Well, not what they are in the show. ((Like, there has to be at least one or two of the many bad traits Adam has that only came after the world got corrupted))
..Aaand then eve walks in and continues song from her perspective considering deal with Lucifer! I think that’s would be cool to end it like this keeping in mind that Lilith was shown in the flashbacks🤔
1:38 love the reference to Michaelangelo's painting "Creation of Adam" and how adams hand is higher then Lucifers. How Lucifer tries to hold it, only for Adam to swat it away, showing that the devil cannot change him.
I think things are much more complicated between Adam, Lucifer, Lilith and Eve (apologies in advance. English is not my native language)If only Eve had tasted the fruit, Adam would have stayed in Eden. And now the question. How did they give rise to humanity? They were, at least, the parents of the first people. I will not focus on Cain and Abel, because there is no guarantee that they will be mentioned in history at all.... But Adam himself says that humanity came from him. Obviously, he's single now, and it's unclear where Eva is. I have two options. Or after the birth of their first children, they broke up because Eva "fall" (perhaps they gave birth magically, and not physically). However, this is clearly a stretch. The second option is that since Eve was his wife, and the angels wanted to populate the earth anyway, Adam was also kicked out of Eden. Most likely, they lived like humans (Adam, according to legends, died, it seems, at the age of 930 years). It's just that after the death of Adam, who did not taste the fruit, he was sent to heaven, and Eve to hell. In short, everything is complicated. I like Adam as a character, and it would be nice if he were brought back because he actually has an interesting story (but again, I do not know how much was taken from the original Bible. I see three outcomes for Adam if he becomes a demon.) First, he could join the hotel. Sir Pentius was not the worst sinner. He definitely wasn't a killer like Alastor, and he doesn't have addictions like Angel or Husk. Vivien once said that the eyes all over hell are the scattered souls of sinners. One of the reasons why Pentius did not become another pair of eyes may be the fact that it was Adam's angelic power that destroyed his body, and Charlie could interact with him to test the theory. Secondly, he can become, if not a overlord, then an assistant to the "VVV". Perhaps Adam himself will realize that because of his failure and transformation into a demon, the path to heaven is closed, and either his pride or Charlie and others did not allow him to become a part of the hotel. Vivien drew attention to the fact that the "VVV" will play as the main antagonists and now that the purges are not terrible, they can expand territories. I don't think Adam, who has killed hundreds of sinners and clearly screwed up in 10,000 years, will be weak as a sinner, so maybe he will interest them as a potential ally. He will be happy to destroy Charlie's life and her idea, as well as the angels who will support her. Well, the last idea that interests me. What if he meets Eve? If Eve went to hell after eating the fruit, then she could be a very strong sinner and hold a grudge against Lucifer and Lilith. There is a theory that Eva is the future villainess of Ru. Maybe they wouldn't have become a couple again (although I don't mind), but they would have been united by a common hatred, and because of them Lucifer would have had to face the mistakes of the past. I want to believe that Lucifer and Lilith are not innocent in this story. There is one notable detail. In Lucifer's fight with Adam, he teased him by mentioning both wives with vulgar innuendos. There is a problem here. According to the book about the creation of Hell (most likely, it was written by our demonic couple, and therefore it is beneficial for them to keep silent about something) Lucifer and Lilith were already together, and when Lucifer gave Eve the fetus, Lilith was with him. Either Lucifer was just exaggerating about Eve, and Adam doesn't know all the details of Eve's temptation, or Lucifer was really with Eve in that sense. And I'm ready to believe that Lilith could have allowed it. In the original source, she was angry that Adam had found a replacement for his first wife and continued to live well in Eden, and perhaps she wanted to harm Adam or just show Eve new horizons and prove that if she was created from a particle of Adam, then she was not his property. I don't think Lucifer, Lilith and Adam are really bad, obviously not. Rather, I see Lucifer as a creative person who made many mistakes, Lilith as a person who simply aspired to freedom and refused to obey anyone, and Adam as a guy who accumulated resentments instead of overcoming them, and over a thousand years of living in paradise, he simply knew his limits.
Your explanation is crystal clear! I would love this theory to happen, I really love Adam and it really bothers me that in the show he would be just "a bad guy" cause the show must have one (I say Adam here but I think about every villain, VVV, Lute ect...) Not just flat characters and it actually fit well that Lucifer could have made many mistakes like he's not all snowflakes and ducks (love him too but seeing this will be so great !) Eve and Lilith's theory is good too, can't wait to see what will happen, those characters are so interesting!
I never thought about these two singing this song but damn! It works perfectly for them! Lucifer looks so adorable, I like how you do make them look younger, it works well with the idea of this being before anyone ate the apple.
I love how in 1:39 it feels like Lucifer's hand shows how dejected he is at the fact Adam didn't let him take his hand. I don't know why I liked the detail. Also, nice of you to pan out to the tree at the 'whisky and misery' part 'cause those are things that came after biting the apple. I love your style and the flow that the whole animation has.
What I find funny about this is that Jeremy Jordan (Lucifer’s VA) was originally supposed to play Philip in the Greatest Showman except they replaced him with Zac Efron.
I like the idea of Adam and Lucifer bromance lol. And maybe Adam’s character being someone who is more logical and cowardly. Like he’s scared of the seraphim and god/angels so he just plays along and hides behind a huge ego to protect himself. I think Lucifer and adam’s dynamic would be so interesting to explore, like the dreamer and ambitious with the logical and cautious. (Also low key ship them 😭🥲)
Also I really like how in the video during Adam’s part he’s singing how ‘he’s doing fine’ but he looks like he’s lying and Lucifer clearly can tell he is. Cause tbh, Adam is cowardly and his whole theme in the show being rock music, which is known for being rebellious, is interesting despite being the first human to make to heaven.
it’s even better because lucifer’s voice actor (jeremy jordan) was lined up to play zac efrons character and did the songs for the pitch do the greatest showman
You know what? Accurate! Just a side note, whether he's wearing a toga or a loincloth or a bundle of leaves, it's always nice to see Adam "mostly bare". He spent the entire season in his huge robe and 90% of the show wearing his Leader of The Exorcists' Mask and it's always refreshing to see him in his most vulnerable and rawest form. You know, a bit nude? His silhouette looked clothless in Charlie's story book at the beginning of the series, but that was a shadow. Can we see that body in something a bit more... slim fitting??? I might just be in love with your art style... he looks goooood here! XDDD
