- Hazel is one of my favorite female artists. Saw her more than 10 times live in the last few decades and she always did a superb job. I think you react to songs from her early era and yeah it is really new wavy. But she has a wide variety of sound in her discography. - I wish her all the best to recover very soon, we the fans miss her. - I have an idea for a comparision: "Hanging Around" from The Stranglers vs. Hazel O'Connor vs. Ghost !

Up until recently Hazel O'Connor was still performing live - but she suffered a brain bleed & it was touch & go for a while. She has reported back that she's on the mend so fingers crossed. The world is a much more interesting place with her in it.

🤷‍♀Countdown tried selling her and Toyah to the kids in Oz. I remember liking Hazel's big blue eyes and Toyah's hairstyles.

I love Hazel O'Connor, she's been really ill, apparently she's on the mend now.

Unfortunately, she never made much money because her records label pretty much ripped her off after Breaking Glass, and her illness caused real financial difficulties because she couldn't perform.

@@colrhodes377 Yes, I know, she was blacklisted for years after Breaking Glass because she pissed off an executive at the record company who held her to her contract but didn't allow her stuff to be released, she had to wait until her contract expired before she could get back into the business, I heard a rumour that it was because she rejected his sexual advantages.

Not my favourite track by Hazel O'Connor although I recognise that it's skilfully crafted. I much prefer Will You and If Only. Here's a thought - if Hazel O'Connor appeals, why not look up Toyah (Willcox)? Currently well-known for the Toyah & Robrt's Sunday Lunch RU-vid videos, she had hit records such as It's A Mystery and Thunder In The Mountains. I particularly like The Vow, although that might be a little bit eclectic.

It's odd to say that you didn't like her very much because both of her previous songs on the channel have done very well indeed. Try Hazel singing, Blackman.
