This episode first show the difference betwen Nanno and Yuri ways. While Nanno was going to extreme ways to punish the guy, she was still ready to let him be at the end of the day. While Yuri wanted to make sure he would never survive this. Because in her point of view it faster and easier to kill than to reform or punish a bad people.

This! Nanno behaves to teach and preach karma. Yuri just behaves according to her personal hatred and wants others to suffer, reflecting her trauma and feeling of invisibility on others.
@fathulque1909

@@grillimauste8871 agreed. i think the contrast is very interesting because one acts on karma while the other simply on revenge. it makes me wonder why Nanno chose to bring back Yuri and not anyone else. Was it because she was just as ruthless? Because it doesn't seem like Nanno expected Yuri to be so vengeful in her methods

Just finished this entire series maybe like a week ago. People like Kaye can't be cured, and that whole group. Yuris method maybe brash but I'll say she simply knows that some people are just evil scurges of Earth and they take life for granted. Nanno is indeed more powerful and masterful but too lenient on these scum of people. I doubt Kaye would changed if he got away. And the true events these were based on...never got any retribution as far as i know .

@@GramoChopinbut Yuri do shit things in the more episode coming, yuri is basically a human so she do something what she thinks is right, but nanno do something what they deserve, no hate but Yuri sometimes just ruined the whole plans, also kaye do something because of past traumas, and the tradition that It's been there a long time ago, so everyone just think that it is okay to do such thing because everyone do it, i mean we never knew what would happen to kaye if this episode is according to nanno's plan, also nanno didn't mean to let kaye go, nanno put kaye in the cage and yuri are the ones who let kaye go that made ppl even angrier to kaye, it might be better if it goes with nanno plan, also Yuri did judge to fast like nanno said

This episode was so diffuicult for me to watch tbh. I know we weren't supposed to feel bad for Kaye but I did find myself feeling bad a few times. Yuri is an interesting character. It will be interesting to see how far she takes things and how far she pushes Nanno because it's kinda obvious at this point that she's trying to provoke Nanno,.

The fact that Yuri just killed a dog for a sake of her method of punishment is so stupid. Things why I love Nanno more. Even Nanno seems disappointed of her actions.

I hate this so-called "Tradition" thing because I experienced it last year. I'm in high school in Thailand and the seniors are just unbelievably rude and if you don't do what they say or participate in this activity then there will be problems🙄 It's stupid
@cgtang
@cgtang 2 года назад
this ep based on the real event as well. not a specific one but in general. this so-called freshmen welcoming is a tradition in all universities in Thailand and also in some schools. I've been in this kind of almost hell 13 years ago. people might ask why don't you just leave, we can't because if you don't participate, your friends will get punished. you just have to do whatever they say to prevent everyone from more absurd acts that could happen. and the seniors also will find anyway to punish you for fun. sadly lots of freshmen in this country die every year because of this tradition that has gone too far. oh, that disgusting song and dance move about raping at the beginning of the episode is from some of the production team's real-life experience. I'm glad that more and more universities students come together and started to cancel it.

This episode reflects the real toxic hazing culture in many universities in Thailand. There's been many cases where freshmen died or got seriously injured as a result of hazing. In Thailand, seniority is given much importance, even if that person is only a year older than you. We have been, I'd say, brainwashed since young to always respect and listen to someone older. But recently, young people have been trying to raise awareness and get rid of this ridiculous tradition in universities. Just like what you guys said, if you don't like being treated that way when you were a freshman, why would you do the same thing to others when you become a senior. And just because you're older, doesn't mean you're wiser, better or worth respecting. I enjoyed your reactions and thoughts over the series. Been subscribed since Squid Game reaction. Keep up the good work 🙂

I think it's not only in Thailand but also in Southeast Asia too, it's like... a really, really, common thing, that's the scary part. In my country, not just long ago, a freshman in a certain university died because of how his seniors treated him. His mother said that he was healthy before he left, but went home full of bruises and dead. I don't know why this is still a tradition, this case keeps repeating with different victims. Seniority is still a dang thing.

Many people may wonder why this series tells so many school rules. Because the country that produced this series is now fighting for the right to be free in school, and the rules are even more serious when students come out and fight for it.

To explain, since he got expelled from the last school he was a senior he had to apply to a new school and become the junior. Explaining why he's going through the initiation with Nanno in the 3 month later timeskip. The bootcamp like hazing itself is a cycle that I used to go through back in high school and it's seen as common so the teachers don't really try to do anything about it. They call it tradition to build team spirit and things like that, it's awful. They can't just run away and tell their parents because if one kid does wrong then everyone gets the punishment, and they're told to suck it up.

If he had apply to a new high school, he should've still be a senior, but he didn't become a senior, the answer is he's gone to the college/university, that's why he become a junior/freshmen
@and-i-oop
@and-i-oop 2 года назад
I'm pretty sure that hazing in freshmen year is a common thing to do in thailand and other southeast asia country. I live in Indonesia and I have experienced hazing in senior high school and college, because it's mandatory. It's held for like 2-3 days, we're told to collect senior student signatures in a book, we did humiliating/gross games like cross dressing, dancing on stage, eating insects, etc (not so fun tbh), and i gotta admit that few of the seniors i met were complete asshole, due to how they act and unnecessary yell at us the juniors, but i get it, maybe they're bullied before. In some school or university, there're some cases where the student actually got injured or even killed during the hazing program, and even until today which is actually sad. Usually it's because of the different race/religion, or simply because the senior were a complete asshole. But luckily my experience wasn't too bad, maybe because i attended private school and university. Some people said that public school / university hazing program is worse, and still going till today.

In short Nanno represent the justified side of Karma. It's slow , it takes it time and will hit the person in the right time. Sometimes the punishment will be received after many years. Sometimes Nanno will take the position of the victim just to coax the person's hidden self. Remember in season 1, Nanno didn't kill people. Not directly. It always the result of the person action. Nanno make sure that the person in question will realize their mistakes and repent, any punishment that inflicted to them is well deserved. In case of Yuri, she symbolize the vengeful side of Karma. It might be quick and easy but not productive. The person just end up dead without learning something. Robbed of the chance to turn over a new leaf. Ps. SPOILER Now we have the two side of karma. Nanno = Just Karma Yuri= vengeful In the future we will meet the last type= Chaos

I feel different about it. I think it's meant to remind him of the shit he's done to others and hence why Nanno was gonna let him go at the end but Yuri took matters into her own hands. I feel he wouldn't have changed unless he truly suffered what he went through his first year again but on a more extreme level.

I think the reason why Kaye is now a freshman was because he entered a university, but before this he was a senior in high school? or maybe he was already a senior in university but got expelled mid course so he had to start all over from the freshman year in a different university. Maybe Nanno has to involve herself much more than usual is because of Yuri messing up her plan, so she wants to keep a close look at her prey to make sure that Yuri doesn't get him first.

Nanno didnt create yuri. Things just happened that Yuri ended up with Nanno's powers. If they are in this together, they would already be working together with smiles between them. But you can clearly tell, Yuri has a complete opposite mindset and it seems she competes with Nanno to see who is the better entity of humanity. Yuri has only been doing this for a short period of time whereas Nanno has been doing this forever. Although no particular backstory has been told about Nanno, it might be possible that Nanno might have started off like Yuri and as she experiences more she begins to lessen her tactics to make ppl realize their actions instead of killing them off for their bad deeds.
