In 1901 the construction started at a cost of £4,669. To cater for 368 children, then an extension was proposed for an additional 160. Front, near the roof, stone inscription ‘Hazlehurst Board School’ and another one on the field side, near the roof, “Walmersley and Ramsbottom School Board”. ‘Boys’ over the right hand side door and “Infants” over the left hand door (now the main entrance).
1901 - Headteacher, Mr. Alfred F. Briggs at a salary of £150 per annum.
2003 - School marks its centenary on 3rd November 2003. Exhibition on the school was displayed at the Heritage Centre, Carr Street.
2019 - New school logo, a tree with an inscription “Growing Together”.
2020 “Aldi Kit for schools Celebration Hazlehurst Community Primary. GOLD medal-winning martial artist and Olympian Lutalo Muhammad dropped by a Bury primary school to give them a bumper sports prize. Hazlehurst Community Primary School in Ramsbottom scooped £20,000 to spend on sports equipment thanks to supermarket Aldi’s Kit for Schools campaign. The prize money will now be put to use to fund an all-weather Daily Mile track, permanent basketball hoops and a traverse wall around the outside of the school. The campaign also works to encourage youngsters to get healthy by eating well and enjoying exercise. James Perkin, deputy headteacher at Hazlehurst, said: “We hope it will inspire the children and, who knows, we may even discover a future Olympian of our own.”

2020/2021 - Schools closed at different times, for most children, also when open there was staggered start and finish times, some classes used the front entrance while others used the normal pupil entrance, all because of the Covid Pandemic.
2023 - All schools closed for long weekend, Friday 5th May to Monday 8th May to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6th May 2023.
