Hi there, Liron here! In today's episode of Painting Masters we'll look at works by Dusan Djukaric, an incredible Serbian watercolor painter.
If you're in the same "circles" as I am, you'll probably immediately notice great similarities between his work and Joseph Zbukvic's works.
What really impresses me about Dusan is his compositions. They are very clever and pleasing to the eye.
I hope you enjoy this one!

Seriously how do you even start to draw like that? It’s simple yet sophisticated

He is awesome! The 'Dju-' part of the surname is pronounced like 'ju-' in 'juice' and the '-ic' at the end sounds like 'itch'. Hope that helps for next time. 😊 Keep up the good work!

I don't see a lot of videos on RU-vid that talk about other artist's and it is probably one of my FAVORITE series. Thank you for this, very inspiring.

Yes a lot of Venice Liron ( I live very near ). The city lends itself to hazy, backlit views. This artist does stunning work, similar to Zbukvic, and what you do to. I would LOVE to crack the secret of urban landscapes, which I find much harder than natural landscapes.

This artist is super talented. Most of his painting are a little drab (lacking much colour) for my taste, but I can certainly admire his style and how he expertly captures light and shadow. I rather liked the more colourful one (boats) at minute 5:37 roughly. As you stated, his composition draws the viewer in.

Liron, I love this guy's work. I see at the beginning shot of him painting that he works straight up and down. Is that a photo on top of his board that he's working from? I couldn't tell. That's really interesting to me. Thanks for pointing out his compositional structure. I must say, though, your thought of adding more dark at the bottom of one of the scenes is something I wouldn't do. To my mind it would put a barrier instead of drawing the eye to the boat and background. That's a personal thought, though. I'm still struggling with my work, overworking as if I'm using oil. Still can't get past that. Tzipora from Jerusalem

The second to last picture could be the Charles Bridge in Prague. A noteworthy scene for sure and a beautiful style!

Djukaric and Zbukvich work totally different techniques, he is not only talented but one of the best watercolorists of the 21st century, the genres match and that doesn't mean it has anything to do with Zbukvich, I don't know if you are knowledgeable but he is widely known for his style and the IWS declared him among the 100 best watercolorists of all time, he is not just some talented alvarelist out there, the whole world knows his mastery, the work technique of Djukarica and Zbukvich is heaven and earth, anyone who knows watercolor at all already knows that, and vanity and jealousy are something else, the prices of paintings go up to 7,000-8,000 euros, and the fact that he does not appear on the world stage is his decision, and why should I, the number of sold paintings is incredible, then the hyperrealists all copy each other, if we are to do so, he does not have to whom to justify, his name is deeply engraved in the world of watercolors, you can't have a true perception of paintings over the phone, live looks fascinating, and Branko Žbukvić initially copied Turner, I'm interested in the work and not the subjective opinion of someone who is a beginner of the 3rd class in watercolor.

He is on some another level man.... Looks like he has his own world.. What a creation... I don't care people call it cliche or anything but every painting of his is a gem❤

For me the most difficult so far is to get a good idea of when to do what (because of the little time to work in watercolors) . I mean mostly the ratios of pigment/water in brush in relation with the humidity level of the paper. But i guess there is no much one can do other than experiment and take notes. Thanks for this and all the great videos you produce.

It’s like watching all of Daniel Smith’s 2019 grey paints (was there 4? 6?) in action in the same painting! Only better, since it’s probably all palette dirt.
