"Adult cartoon" now just means "ugly artstyle and crude for the sake of crude written for 15 year old edgelords"

I find it very ironic that (most) cartoons geared towards adults are often the ugliest, most immature pieces of crap ever put out into the world, whereas cartoons 'meant for' children are often better written, are actually diverse in their art styles and animation, and can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of age.

The thing that pisses me off the most is how the guy voicing Prince George cannot do a British accent to save his life. At least Seth McFarlene puts the effort in when he's voicing Stewie and tbf its not too bad as far as attempts go. This guy doesn't even seem like he's trying and ends up defaulting to stereotypical gay voice.

What bothered me about the trailer (I didn't watch the series) was that a cartoon made an actual living child the punchline to adult themed jokes, most of which imply he's gay. It's a cartoon. You can easily create a fictional royal family to satirize. You don't have to target a minor.

I really feel sorry for the royal children as they're mocked in a show they're not even old enough to watch.

I honestly have no idea why they would make this specifically for an American audience. Especially considering most Americans who follow the British Royals _like_ them.

Honestly, shit like this makes me wish someone would make a sitcom about the greek gods. It's just perfect considering how dysfunctional they were.

I feel like it'd be funnier if they had the royal fam only be vulgar in private. The queen doesn't cuss and/or burp in front of ppl she, always acts perfectly. To see her go from her 'vulgar/normal' self to her queenly self would IMO not only provide more scenarios for humor but also in general be funnier than just watching her cuss around like a normal person.

Imagine being so bad at writing that you make fun of literal children and you still think it's the 90s where you can just make a punchline "lol gay." That irks me, too. Just because a boy is a bit feminine doesn't mean anything about his sexuality or gender. It's also kind of a "sneaky" way to just say "lol girl stuff stupid." I swear this was written by a middle schooler who just discovered 4chan. No shade on middle schoolers for that tho--that's totally normal and they, you know, grow out of it

I hate that parodies use disclaimers to shield themselves from criticism. Using a disclaimer for legal reasons is completely understandable, but the whole "please don't bully us snowflake" part is hypocritical when the entire show is basically bullying real children who can't understand what's going on.

The Prince: *uses children that were born into wealth who have no way to respond to parody, and proceeds to use one-note jokes that have been used for actual decades* Also The Prince: *Doesn't even bother to use Prince Andrew for easy jokes*

This is the fourth most insulting thing Queen Elizabeth had to deal in her life. The only things more insulting were 1992, her uncle and Prince Andrew

I’m certainly not against satirizing public figures (I.e. Presidents, Prime Ministers, Monarchs, etc.), I think the children of those people should be off limits.

This is my problem with adult cartoons like this, where there is no clever or interesting writing or funny jokes. It is replaced with gratuitous swearing, gross out and violence. E.G paradise pd, brickleberry, Mr pickles, etc

Something I want to bring up, one of the animators on Twitter said they were happy that they no longer had to work on this garbage show, they said it was a terrible experience having to deal with awful conditions.

My biggest issue with this pile of a show, besides it being not funny, and downright boring, is the fact it makes fun of real children who didn’t sign up for this. Family guy, South Park, The Simpsons etc make fun of kids, but they are all fictional kids based on people the creators knew from their childhoods. This show takes actual children who cannot defend themselves and pisses all over them. Orlando bloom is the voice for Prince Harry, he and Katy Perry are very strict about the privacy of their daughter, yet he had no issue participating in this mess that violates the privacy of other people’s famous children? I don’t get it.

I loved when the Queen met with Daniel Craig, that was actually her idea, they wanted to get an actress for her part, but she said she wanted to actually do it, I love Queen Elizabeth, that whole skit of her meeting him, and then coming out of the helicopter like James Bond, was all her idea. The helicopter wasn’t actually her, but still ❤️

The queen of England lived through many years of tragic events and continued on. When this show came out, she died less than a year later. Coincidence? I think not.

Stuff like this make me appreciate Trey and Matt more. Not everyone can make humor like south park.

I wish there were more jokes at the expense of Prince Andrew. He deserves ridicule more than anyone else in the royal family.

This is what I hate about "adult" cartoons. They are full of swearing, gross out, immature humor, and look ugly and are more enjoyed by middle schoolers despite being "adult". I used to enjoy all Family Guy episodes up to when I was 13, but it started to lose its appeal to me as I grew up.

the irony with cartoons is that the ones targetted towards children tackle serious topics, have good adult humor while the adult ones feel like they were targetted towards toddlers

Considering that Queen Elizabeth regards the Windsors more as a "Business" than a family, I think it would have been funnier and smarter if they'd treated her like a mob boss, and as mentioned, hold back on the swearing but bring it out occasionally to show the ruthless side. I mean, if you're going to pull jokes about Phillip dying, you may as well be equally douchey include the Dianna conspiracies. Imagine the Queen taking a rifle from a beefeater and gunning down someone who annoys her, and no one can stop her because she's the Queen.

The Windsors is a perfect show that parodies the British Royals without going into non-stop boredom.

The hypocritical part of this has to be Sophie Turner voicing Princess Charlotte in this show mocking real life children while going on a rant slamming the paparazzi for photographing her child. She is not okay with her daughter's pictures being taken but she is okay with a whole show making fun of innocent children....... Like? I am a fan of you but this leaves a sour taste Her words: "It's (expletive) creepy that grown old men taking pictures of a baby without their permission. I'm sickened, I'm disgusted and I'm respectfully asking everyone to stop following us around and stop trying to take pictures of our daughter and especially printing them" EDIT: because some of you are missing the point. I am not equating the invasion of Willa's (Sophie's daughter) privacy to the mockery of the royal children on the show. I am merely saying it is hypocritical how Sophie had been so publicly protective of her daughter, someone who was innocent and never chose this life but was subjected to this, and yet participated in a show whose main premise is mocking the children of the royal family, who are similarly innocent and never chose this life either. I didn't think this was too difficult to understand, but if you must require such details and try to debate me on specifics, you are missing the point. Sighs EDIT 2: Me saying that Sophie is hypocritical doesn't mean I support or wish that her daughter would be photographed by the paparazzi. Me pointing out contradictions doesn't equate to me wishing her ill. I don't believe ANY children should be exploited by the entertainment industry. Bojack Horseman, one of the greatest adult cartoons of the modern day had a rule: only say "fuck" once per season. And only to indicate he ruined a relationship beyond Redemption. It was to make sure they didn't lose tbe power of a swear. Bojack Horseman is remembered as one of the deepest, most poignant, and funniest adult cartoons ever.

I swear, it's only Americans that do this to each other. I've never seen the Irish complain about 'Mrs. Brown's' boys, I've never seen the British complain about 'Little Britain'. People need to be cognizant enough to understand that a media portrayal of someone doesn't mimic their real-life counterparts. Look at South Park, for instance.

At least when Seth McFarlane does it the character is American and we can be blissfully unaware that Stewie is supposed to have a British accent. Seriously, I didn't even know that's what it was supposed to be until they made an episode explaining why he has a "British" accent.

What kind of a monster makes an entire show to make fun of an actual 8 year old kid which no control over what his family actually is. Do you really think Prince George isn't going to grow up messed up with this level of public criticisms on him, especially when HE LITERALLY DID NOTHING WRONG??!!

I feel like if they'd just expanded a character *based* on the caricature of Elizabeth II, and written a fictional plot with fictional people where she has to choose an heir or some similar central theme, that show could have had a fighting chance. Definitely get rid of the kids' characters entirely though, there's no salvaging, they're each just slivers of Stewie Griffin's character.

The Prince just shows us how bad modern adult animation is. The prince is just another garbage Family Guy clone that tries too hard to be as edgy and disturbing as possible just to "look mature", but ends up being even more childish than actual kids cartoons.

Comedy is basically the worst if you watch a "bad comedy" at least with horror, sometimes it can be entertaining. Thriller and action too have decent entertainment value but with comedy, which is subjective anyway, it grinds to a violent halt if unfunny and can lead to absolute misery. Sure you can be bored with horror, but it hits worse with comedies.

The fact that the queen died this year makes the show even more dated and hopefully forgotten soon.

One of the few things the Nostalgia Critic wisely said was the bad thing about reviewing a bad comedy is there’s only so many ways you can say “that’s not funny”.

The "kill me now" joke at 11:17 could have actually been almost funny if the prince's servant made a "oh I'd love to" aside. The joke literally writes itself, and they couldn't even do that. They dropped the ball on an easy joke that seems the obvious one to make

I just heard that this show has been canceled and won’t return for a second season. Moral of this comment, don’t end your season on a cliffhanger!
