Glad you like it! Definitely a great truck! I think for $60-$70 I would recommend this one. For me Amazon shows it at $69 plus a 15% off coupon. I do have a review video on it. It’s probably my favorite car under $80. Roughly the same size, but not as fast. It has 2 small brushed motors. Thanks 👍👍

Yup, I’ll be best shrinking those for sure! I can’t tell if the pins are breaking or if centrifugal force is loosening the pin springs and allowing them to fly out! Springs are always in tact with no sign of the pins! 😂

But I don’t have any of the others so I cant be sure. I’m sure whichever one you got, you would love it. Definitely fantastic trucks!!

Good question, however I don’t have either of those WL toys models. What I can say for sure, is that the 16889a pro will be 10x more durable than anything WL toys. Really almost anything at all. Unfortunately I don’t own any traxxas vehicles yet. So can’t say for sure, but the hyper gos are definitely solid choices!

No you should be good to use them all, you just need to make sure that one car/remote pair are turned on at a time. We have used cars at the same time that take the same controller, just not the exact same car.

I think you will have trouble fitting a 5200 mah battery in either one of these, but I haven’t had the best luck with 3s on those cars. It makes them both glitch a little bit and I do believe in ruined the esc on my 901a

I believe there is, and I will be ordering it and putting it on a video, however, I cannot remember what it is right now. Lol!

When you say metal, do you mean drivetrain or suspension? I don’t know too many with metal suspension cuz they tend to be less durable that way

One of my favorites is the HBX 2996a. It’s super tough and awesome I’m pretty much every way lol. Metal drivetrain, center differential, plastic where it counts! I beat it up in my review!

Yes, the esc repair was actually in a different 901a video and it did fix it! 👍 60c should be just fine, just keep it at 2s/ 7.4 volts. Thanks so much!

They’re pretty similar in handling. The longer wheel base helps the 901a, but the tires are pretty bad on my opinion. I think overall the 16889a handles better too, but probably not by much.

I have a brushless HyperGo on order and this will be done eventually lol

Can’t necessarily remember. I would think they would have the same part number so possibly not, however, I am pretty sure the diffs themselves are the same.

Hey! Did you confirm that 901 metal parts fit 16890? Need to upgrade mine, but as you mentioned, 901 parts are cheaper and easier to find :)

I've got fully assembled 16889 diffs at bargain price, but they don't sell the metal pinions separately. I will try 901 spur gear as it comes with 2 pinions already and looks same as 16889. BTW I also got Q117 after your recommendation, what an awesome and fun car! When my father in law tried it, he just wouldn't give the remote back! He ran the full 3500mAh battery on it! 🤣. That's why I need to upgrade my 16889 😁

Cool! Some slightly larger tires will do the trick. We use these on our 16890 which is a very similar truck and they work great. You may need to turn the steering rate down just slightly so it doesn’t rub the body when turning. Or you can add small wheel spacers or trim the body a little bit. They’re pretty close to the same size. The 9200e may have a slight advantage on size. Even with the 901a being one of the least durable hbx cars, I do think overall it’s a little better. Sticking with that size of car, you can’t beat the hbx 2995 or the flyhal fc610. They’re essentially the same car. Not quite as fast but much more durable and controllable. Also easy to upgrade and make awesome. I have several videos on these.

Quite a few times 🤣 Accidentally completely knocked Max’s feet out from under him with either my Kraton or Cheetah once. That’s bad news though, easily could have hurt him. But with the small cars, hilarious lol!!

The video is about the 16889a PRO with brushless and metal upgraded parts. It may be different in some areas and from different sellers, but on Banggood the price difference is pretty minimal. That will fluctuate depending on the promotional prices but the price shouldn’t be too big of a factor between these two. Either way, I agree the 16889a pro is the best choice!

@@DerbyCityRC I ordered a 16889A brushless from Aliexpress today, it really sucks to live in a banana republic, so many sellers on Bangood seems to have lost a lot of revenue shipping to South Africa to unscrupulous fraudsters, so they simply stopped shipping their goods here. You will simply not believe the vast amount of sellers who simply don't ship WLToys here! So the best I could to here was to order my little brushless 16889A and then upgrade it to the pro version. I will be so happy if someone can do an in detail information video on what the upgrades are to get it to Pro status. However from what I have seen is that the one I ordered is also a pretty awesome little truck in it's own right. My son and I are just so over it to get slow and boring toy grade stuff that if it breaks, all you can do with it is to strip it for parts ...
