Even if cat walk was suggested, Indians would ha done it far better way. They've completely Done rubbish show. Ofcourse its not a professional one but bare minimum things r not taken care of
After watching this video, I was convinced that our own people don't know how to showcase our culture and attire to western country people. 1st: models were looking depressed (opted for Indian models to represent) 2nd: sarees weren't draped properly with loose fitted blouse and visible petticoat in some 3rd: makeup was pathetic 4th: jewellery were used for namesake, no relation to the regions they belong 5th: many sarees looked repetitive pattern 6th: choice of color and design for the sarees were horrible (I believe even our grandmas had better design sarees) ONLY good part of the show was narration by the host..... When we only felt boring looking at them, I can understand why foreigners looked least interested. Need to say one thing to the organizers: kindly do research, hire good models and designers, select true vibrant color sarees and then showcase it to the world. We should be proud of it than becoming a laughingstock🙏

Being from Bangalore I have never heard of BANGALORE silk by TATA. It is MYSORE SILK of Karnataka. Being a former Model I fell down Laughing at the Models and their Comical Walk. Shows how the recruiter has FAILED.

While everyone is busy spreading hate, I still find grace in every saree showcased in the show. Agreed, not the best attitude to carry with saree but hey, we Indians live by it. Let's appreciate!🙏🏻
True. I love how the designs were explained. Honestly speaking the choice of sarees were not too bad too. I guess they went for authentic, not the modern day designs.
It's like Arijit's song "tum hi ho" is being sung by Dhinchak Pooja. When you want to show your Indian culture then why didn't you use Indian models.They are walking like they are being forced to wear this and walk😒
They really needed to have better models displaying such beautiful sarees. How the saree is carried and draped is of extreme significance. It reflects the cultural awareness, significance and the mood of the person.

Fairest of fair North Indian skin has a certain amount of pigmentation which makes them far more attractive compared to the bleached, bloodless and lifeless appearing skin of the locals. That is so very clearly visible the models on the catwalk. After all India does have complete range of skin colours starting from very fair but not quite white, to very dark. For whatever reason and IMHO saree does not suit white skin in the least bit. That white skin needs at least a coupe of years of exposure to Indian sun to grace a saree.
Atleast they could have taught them to walk properly. Design,colour even the blows is horrible. This this not the real one. If we try to attempt new thing give 100% Sorry to say that their effort is not good
I can't imagine any Indian woman wearing Saree and doing their eyes like that simultaneously. Sorry but the whole show looks so terrible. When we are showcasing our culture it should be our culture and not some gibberish mix. I don't blame the models because they certainly do not know how to carry Saree and walk as if they are in western outfits. But the organizers so to say the Indian embassy in London should have been more careful and respectful of presenting our culture.

For my fellow Indians..who are saying that models are looking like dead person walking...They are not supposed to smile!..they are runway models not pageant models.. it's all about clothes..these models hv to walk with dead face..cuz the whole focus is to display clothes that they wear not them! It's their job..ppl really don't know anything about runway models😅 they are not suppose to steal the attention, smile or walk the way they want..their job is literally "walking hangers" for clothes 😄
Its not about the dead face. Its about the difference in poise with which they carry the saree compared to the indian girls who are wearing it like skin

This is insulting of saree . Like They didn't want to wear . Blouse was not fitted, no grooming , no presentation, sawl is dropping from shoulder, pallu is dropping from shoulder ,what was that??????? What was the goal of this show front of world??? Give a hounor or insulting ????
Nahhh they just wanna potray the beauty of the works.. usually when we tie traditionally it won't be put out as it is.. guess that's what they wanna achieve.. it's always the same during most fashion shows
The way they draped the sarees made me remember how i played with my mom's sarees when i was 10 years old ... but, i think i did a better job than this 😂
If they could choose Indian women for walk, that would be nice. Draping saree is not good. Blouses not fitted properly. Sarees are not up to the mark.this is not the way of showing our saree to other Nationals. Some more interest to be taken.
We have Indeed the best collection...that could make everone awe of us...but sadly models were not neatly draped and presented. A very mediocre show indeed!

Seriously..the walk was so funny..i think they were uncomfortable and cant walk the ramp barefoot..i think they are used to heels amd suddenly they were told to walk barefoot
Its more disappointing because its by indian people.. also if you are using indian drapes you should use indian models.. it fits their body type.. here its just hanging here.. it doesn't look nice..
When you wear sari please don't walk like zombies, have some smile on face and off course they need some experts to drape the sarees perfectly, plz next time u present sarees don't hire skiny models. Plz plz plz wear it properly..
INDIA s rich and cultural diversity of our different states represented beautifully thru SAREES of diff textiles with modernized styles without loosing their original Ethnicity.. the models looked beautiful..just as our everyday women look too when dressed up for traditional festivals, poojas , festivals and weddings.... It's very good to see that they gave a good introduction about all state's traditional saree but really heartbreaking that the part of intro to the Odisha's traditional the one and only PATA Saree, they cut that part!... it's really bad
Umm I don't understand why you guys are hating on it so much ?? As an indian I honestly love this ramp walk . They tried their best ... and the sarees were pretty good too . I love how they described each saree's history a bit . Yes it's could've been better but they are western people they thrive for simple elegance which they tried to keep through out the walk .

There are so many negative comments. But, I liked the show a lot. People don't understand how difficult it is to arrange everything in a foreign country. The selection of sarees was gorgeous. Their description was perfect. In fact, I liked it better than the modernized way of wearing a saree. For me, this was more authentic and innocent. Great effort by the organizers and everyone involved in the show. Beautiful ❤️
But how difficult was it to find a dark skinned model? In all of India and wherever they pulled the non-Indian models, you could not add any dark skinned women? Come on.....

no matter what anyone says, being an Indian man i find Indian women are the most beautiful in the whole world be it in saree or any other western clothes they can rock in any dressing style.

There's a certain way to walk when you wear a saree. For example when you walk, you should push the pleats with your legs simultaneously when you take a step. If not the pleats will entangle in your legs and look like a ball. But you shouldn't walk like you are kicking while doing that. The way you hold your hands is different for different saree draping style. Anyway I think they did their best. Here in Sri Lanka, saree is a traditional clothing, we have different styles of draping but the traditional draping style is different. It's called osariya. This has around 3-4 parts to the saree. I wonder what are the different draping styles in India. I wish people went back to the days where modesty was a fashion. Saree can be worn in a very modest way and that's the whole essence of it. Simply magnificent

Just watched the fashion show and learned a lot of information that I never knew before and totally enjoyed the video. Then I read the comments and was astounded by the negativity against the models. Models are there to represent clothes not themselves which is why there is not expression on their faces. If everyone in the comments' section expected real life representation, it is clear you have never seen a runway show before. I believe I took away the most important message of the show which was to show the expansive history and influence India has in the fashion industry. Hopefully others have done the same.
