in partnership with Belmont Medical Technologies, HCVI is introducing the Belmont "buddy lite", a life-saving IV warming technology to battlefront surgical trauma hospitals and pre-hospital medic teams in Ukraine. Hypothermia is one of the elements of the trauma triad of death (hypothermia, acidosis, and coagulopathy). These three conditions share a complex relationship, with each compounding the effects of the others. Uninterrupted, they ultimately lead to death. Belmont has generously started this program with a large donation of equipment and consumables. Our goal is to make this technology available to every trauma patient experiencing hypothermia at the battlefront in Ukraine. HCVI leverages technology to improve outcomes and save lives.
