Kira is this amazing patient who charmed me from the moment that I met her. She has a smile that lights up the room but is as tough as they come, having survived a bullet wound to the abdomen and multiple major surgeries. Amidst all of the awfulness of this war, I have been blessed to encounter so many kind, generous, brave, and resilient people like Kira. How can you not be inspired by this kid who has overcome such adversity and somehow manages to do so with a smile? (Video obtained with both the consent of the patient and both of her parents).
