{HD} [FULL FLIGHT] Denver (DEN) - Las Vegas (LAS) - Southwest Airlines - Boeing 737-7H4 - N240WN 

→ Join me as we begin a day of inaugural service on this increasingly rare Southwest bird (still in Canyon Blue and no split scimitars)! Not this flight, obviously, as Denver to Las Vegas is a competitive route, but this is more of a placement flight, where, in Las Vegas, I would be catching the inaugural flight to Bozeman, Montana (from Las Vegas) on this day! Those videos are linked below! Anyhow, we begin at the far, far, east end of concourse C, at gate C51, and push back. Because Las Vegas is west of Denver, it would only make sense to taxi to a westerly runway, right? Wrong. We taxi to the north-facing runway 34L for departure. Why? Unsure, but the best part was the hard turn to the west after departure. We climb to the west over the state of Colorado, then cruise to the southwest over Utah, then begin our initial descent into Las Vegas, before flying over a tad of Arizona, Lake Mead, and buttering the bread in Las Vegas on runway 26L. I'm seated in a good place to see the tire smoke upon landing. See if you can see it! We skedaddle off the runway and taxi quickly to gate C17, passing a flight I had just taken a day before - the flight from Tucson!
