Those Zakspeed turbo Capri’s had massive horsepower, from only 1.4 to 1.7 litres. They were monsters. You can see the massive over fuelling and brutal wheel spin coming out of corners.

Turbocharged enginuity and genius. However the fanatical high levels of horsepower were really only used in qualifying. Race boost floated around 390-430 to avoid engine knock and other reliability issues.

I was lucky enough to see them when they came to Donington in 1980, 1 x 1.7 and 2 x 1.4's as I recall for a round of the DRM. Not all of the normal competition travelled but there were a couple of quick 935's as I recall but Ludwig won in the Capri.

as far as i was aware there was only 1 Rule breaker Zakspeed. not Zakspeeds, the rule breaker had the wider back wing .after letting it race the powers that be outlawed it

"Zakspeed's" in the title is not used as a plural, but to show ownership. Such as "Billy's ball" or "Jacob's toothbrush". Hope that clears it up ^^;
