12 years later and this is still one of the most epic Gaga performances IMO. This is the first time she played at a big arena too and her team was still figuring things out.

This is in the prologue of the book "Pokerface: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga". They talk about how some of the stage equipment, including the purple spotlight were stuck in a town not too far away. She considered canceling the show but her managers wouldn't let her. I just read it a few hours ago and thought to myself, "hey I've seen all this on RU-vid." =)

Well maybe so, but one of my favorite parts is watching the camera flashes. It's crazy. I like The Born This Way Ball better overall, but I have to say that this opening was better. I love the projection video, the countdown, the shadow dance. She really got you excited with this one.

This night specifically was so iconic and anybody who was there is extremely lucky. If I’m not mistaken, this night was written about in one of her biographies.

@rob42996 a lot went wrong. nearly half of her set was lost in transit. none of her outfits or wigs arrived. She had to go into the Arndale and get a wig from a fancy dress shop!

Yeah they had a lot of equipment left behind in shipping if I'm not mistaken. Still you can tell their winging it in this performance. Still epic gaga though. =)

that opening does give her a very epic feel. Love it. I will be getting chills and probably crying of excitement when I see her in July!!!!!

I wonder if it's cause it wasn't the way the crowd expects it. The shadow dance was part of what made it so exciting. In here, the curtain rises, and she doesn't really do much. It's sort of a letdown.

@emoheaven666 This is the Original Monster Ball Revamped First seen at Manchester and this is her First Performance in a big stage so you might think that thinks gone wrong, but they're not she didn't know how to started it so she did this version trying to figure out how it is going to be until she finished and perform it in the American Leg which she started on the big stage at Boston, Massachusetts. So noting never went wrong.

I hated her at first to be quite honest, I didn't get the appeal at first, but after a bad break up I started listening to some of her songs and she grew on me! I want to see her in concert one day ;)

I love how she changes the tune. In the album version you can hear how she records that different tune but it's barely audible in the background. Yet she does it live up front!

i love BOTH Versions of the show. I went to the Monster Ball in Los Angeles, and i had a great time, but I think to really experience Lady Gaga, u need to be up close and personal, and i think this new vamped up version of the Monster Ball kind of ruins that, but I will be seeing it for sure if she brings this show to Los Angeles again =)

@bolandRecords Yes! I saw the o2 performance from last Feb and I was like, wow I wish she'd bring that back just for one show. Smaller spotlight and she was just winging it as the song went. Her creative abilities came alive as she was getting comfortable with the new stage. A truly awesome thing to behold. I missed out on tickets to her Gwinnett Arena show here in the Atlanta area but I am definitely not missing out the next time she comes around.

Evertime I watch this video clip, I get the chills of listening to the crowd counting down and screaming when her shadow appears, she has worked very hard! Way to start off 2010 as a great year :) Mother Monster Forever

just seems like a big statement that she can play the o2. but i also think she will try and do something new so wouldnt be surprised if she either releases two full shows in britain or a compilation of the best performances in the uk. as for america i really dont know

no this show was more POP then 2.0 was more Rock! Posh used to be in the tour ... and some other characters ... then they had to leave.. so she re-worked it a little bit. I saw both versions.. (not the original obviously) .. and both were amazing but as me and my friends said it was like watching 2 completely different shows on the same stage

@bolandRecords This was the test run for the arena setting. I can see how they were experimenting with new lighting effects. It took a few shows for her to find the right choreography and stick with it as well. I can't help but wonder if she'll change it up again before the tour is over. I'm sure in the future we will continue to be awe stricken by her performances. =)

I went to see her at the tacoma dome, and it didnt really sound like Gaga, her voice seemed a little high and a tiny bit nasally, but she kind of sounded like that in the beginning of this video, maybe it's just me

@rob42996 This is the Revamped MB for Europe, however this was feb 2010. she changed it all for europe because she need a bigger layout as she was doing arenas over here. but the white curtain was down and her shadow was shown? it just went up rather quick. but it was the 1st show of the newley revamped monster ball. great show was glad i went to see it 4 times :)
