I’m pretty sure Kate Rockwell hurt her leg before this so they had to cut it for her sake (as much as i would have loved to see it too). you can kind of tell that she’s not pushing herself more than she has to for the dances. she still did an amazing job despite the injury and the freakishly cold weather! like damn, that’s talent and commitment right there

Kwillz the Kwirky she literally walks slowly in a circle in the ribbon dance. It will have just been cut for time, as obviously, if she can do this with her leg, she obviously could have done the ribbon dance

Hey dresses aren't always that cold only stupidly thin/short ones but like their outfits are definitely way too skimpy

Also mad props to whoever in the prod team was involved (dance captain/assistant MD/whoever) for creating this new ending

Because they are! They aren't allowed to sing in the cold weather as its really damaging to your voice, considering its their job they would rather not take the risk

Macy’s doesn’t allow them to sing so they went into the recording studio a few days before the parade to record and lip synced the song.

It’s not that’s Macy’s doesn’t allow it, it’s literally sound logistics. But then again, Kelly sang live like the Queen she is and the sound system itself was fine so who knows why the shows don’t, but some of the single artists do.

I think it’s because they weren’t allowed to sing in the cold due to damaging their vocal chords

One of cast members of mean girls said that Macy’s doesn’t allow them to sing live. It’s a deal they make with Macy’s.

@Ashley Espinoza yea i had thought so too but then i researched and found out it was pre recorded cause its too difficult in terms of tech to have them sing live. PLUS it was so freezing cold and wouldnt have been good for the actors voices. still was amazing tho

Yeah, but they're group numbers. Someone Gets Hurt is a solo that only showcases Taylor and Revenge Party, while a bit more of a group number is very long and plot heavy and hard to cut up into a cohesive number. This one and Where Do You Belong are group numbers that showcase the ensemble and are rather indicative of the show itself. It's the style of music and energy level that the show is on.

I like this song and I think it makes the most sense with no context.
