Great visuals on your review, Tom. You are a very well informed narrator/driver. HP however is 187 and torque is 184 lbs....you had them reversed in your dialogue. I thought this was better than the BMW X1 and the Infinity QX30 in terms of comfort and price-point. The back seats are also extremely pleasant to ride in and plush. It's much quieter than both the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. The entire boot is carpeted, including the wheel wells to keep out noise. There are three rubber seals on the doors. And the windshield wipers are pushed down below the hoodline and you can't see them while driving unless they are turned on if it's raining. They did this to help filter out the noise levels. All of this works together very well!! Most buyers won't push it as hard as you did in their daily driving. It feels premium and offers an amazing price for the value. And the speakers sound fantastic.

Turbo that 2.5 CX-5 Mazda....and give us a REAL CX5- SZ (super zoom) model to chase down the Stelvio. (;

Hey just use 0W30 oil and engine will sound much more refined and quiet. may lose 1 mpg ....

Also... Next year when Skyactiv next gen engines arrive it should have 20% more power and 20% better fuel economy... no worries Toyotas of this world will outsell it 10:1 ....American market best selling vehicles is an insult to average car buyers intelligence.

You did a pretty good review. This Mazda is not for me. The styling is an acquired taste, especially these horrible looking wheels. The worst thing though is the engine noise. It sounds like a tortured coffee grinder with no go. That car needs a better and stronger engine.
