If you like this, you should hear Terence Trent D'arby sing WHO'S LOVING YOU? OMG! He tore that song up. Also, check out his other hits WISHING WELL, SIGN YOUR NAME, and IF YOU LET ME STAY. As a matter of fact, check out his whole first album THE HARDLINE ACCORDING TO TERENCE TRENT D'ARBY.
Terence Trent Darby is a bad man !!! One of the most underrated Artist in the 80's & 90's. Vocally he always reminded me of the Late Great Sam Cooke. Since then hes legally changed his name to (Sananda Maitreya), resides in Milan, Italy & still making music til this day !!!!
This dude has some INCREDIBLE vocal power, and range! I remember back in high school when he first burst onto the scene. I truly thought that we were about to see the next Prince, or Michael Jackson. Like, I thought that he was going to blow up all over the planet! But, nah... he didn't want that. That's okay. He never got over-blown, or too commercial. Never sold out. He still makes music, and I'm so satisfied with that. Go on, brother! Sing yo ass off, Terrence... or Sananda Maitreya... whatever you're calling yourself now... sing yo muther-fuggin' ASS off! WOOO!
I graduated high school in 1984. I was the asshole that was always walking around with the jambox blasting hair band music. Anything like this never got a chance. And tonight, I discovered, for the first time, this song right along with you. Wow, what a powerful song!
This is probably my favorite song of his. It’s always hard to choose but it’s definitely up there. Also one of the best concerts I ever had the pleasure the attend.
What a legend what a song.. 1st time I seen him live.. that's how that song is spost to be sung.. people in the audience are sooo lucky to have been ther.. wow!
Sign Your Name by Terence Trent D’arby. Back in the day when I thought I might want to get married some day, I said it was going to be my wedding song. Such a beautiful love song. And that voice!! 🔥
When you said "he can sing". Look how far away from the microphone he is. I saw him and met him the next day in Manchester and I've never witnessed anything like it. He didn't need a microphone. He was a Powernoised Schizophonic! He IS the GOAT!!!☠️
I loved your reaction to this song!! Terence Trent D”Arby (aka Sananda Francesco Maitreya) is one of the most underrated artists of our time! He voice is like no other and his songwriting is like art! The imagery is so strong and thought provoking! It’s really deep, too deep for most! He is one amazingly soulful musician!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Terence's voice very much. I've been a fan going back to 1980's. As one commenter said, he should have been bigger in the music industry. Did you know he was a boxer at one point in his life? Florida Golden Gloves lightweight championship. In later years he changed his name to Sananda Maitreya; not sure if he still goes by that. But what an interesting singer, songwriter.
I really thought TTD would be the next superstar a la Prince and MJ. His debut album was great front to back! I just love his cover of ‘Who’s Loving You!’
@@nellcharlebois6085 Yeah. It’s a crazy story! I could tell right off the bat that he was a fighter though. I used to box in my teens and could easily recognize the ‘look’ in his eyes and that particular swagger that all fighters have…
#London #london #LONDON !!! “Wishing Well” and “Sign Your Name” are two other great songs by Terence Trent D’Arby. Highly recommended! (TTD now goes by the name of Sananda Maitreya. Confusing at first, but it’s the same guy!)
One of my favourite songs of his, such poetry and loved the new style when it came out, bit more psychedelic rock, with soul. Love that guitar at the beginning!!! What a performance and Awesome reaction.
@Mr.Video you brought me such joy watching your heartfelt connection, as you watched TTD open his soul bearing emotions throughout his song, he graced us all with his musical creation. 💞💕💯 respect for you!
This performance, the WHOLE concert, is the best live stage show I have ever caught on RU-vid or in person. I have been coming back to it for over a decade. Just amazing.
I remember when he released wishing well and i thought, that voice! His voice moves and sounds like a ballarina dancing in gravel, but AMAZING. " I felt that" Great reaction.
I tried to tell you Mr. Video! Weeks ago when you reacted to "Wishing Well", you ain't seen nothin' yet! This guy has one of the greatest voices ever. His performance of "Who's Loving You" on the concert DVD live from Ohn or something like that, is for me the greatest vocal performance I've ever heard and seen! I have the DVD and have watched it a kabillion times. He changed his name to Sananda Maitreya and lives in Europe. But has never stopped putting out great music! You will love his earlier tracks "Dance Little Sister" and "If you Let Me Stay" too! He could dance like James Brown, but in my opinion, theres never been a greater voice! And that's just my own personal preference, of course.
This was YEARS after he had basically retired from the music business. SO lovely to see and hear him again. I know he would have been a superstar 10 times over by now. He ALWAYS had what I called his "gravel-dipped-in-honey" voice. But I must admit, it's gotten more pronounced over the years since he quit the music business. That voice is what made me a fan of his. And kudos to the guitar player! He sounds a bit like Brian May.
One of your best reactions brother....Period! He went through a mental issue for awhile and come back even better and stronger. Phenomenal live artist.
Totally forgot about this song! Always loved listening to TTD. He’s so talented. Remember seeing him back in the day. Phenomenal live!! Thanks for doing this one.
George Michael called Terence Trent D’Arby “the most underrated vocalist of our generation”. He was surely right. But it’s quite sad what happened to TTD’s career. By all accounts (including his own) he became difficult to work with. His reputation in his own industry is not great. It’s such a shame because he had talent that’s just off the chart. This song is particularly beautiful. He should have become one of the greats. But songs can live on for ever and in time I think his following will grow again.
Don't believe most of what you read. My ex is a musician by the name of Mason Ruffner who met Terences' guitar player in Europe; all other musicians had great respect for TTD.
@@trismaccarran9950 that’s really interesting to hear. This recent interview was quite distressing to read: www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sananda-maitreya-terence-trent-darby-interview-mq5fjmq0w
Straight 🔥🔥🔥 This is a BANGER! So much feeling and pain and joy and LIFE in this song/performance. And a flawless review by my dude Leo. Keep the videos coming and the smoke rolling, Brother! As always 👊😎💯
@@benjic80 Right?! So, so very talented! And still with us, unlike so many of the greats of that generation who are not! He goes by Sananda Maitreya now...still makin music, still doin all his own stuff, still amazing!
A Rome...Thank you and I agree! I keep trying to get Dance Little Sister reacted to, but no one seems to hear me lol! Sign Your Name is a great one also! But Dance Little Sister is my jam!!!!
@@ShannyShan20 We agree on both counts! Sign Your Name is a great song too, but I guess very often mentioned.. Dance Little Sister was still known back in the day, and now seems an unknown jam/gem- somebody pls react to this dan%it! lol 😫🙏
@Mr.Video Every time I need inspiration, I come back to your reaction to this video. It is your pure beautiful spirit enjoying this moment in time, that gives me such joy.
