There are only two groups of people: 1. Those that think of the lion king when they see the sun rise 2. Those that think of walking with dinosaurs when they see the sun rise. I’m usually against superiority... but in this case there is no question about the inferior group
Idk man, Lion King isn't the favorite animated movie for most people, on the other hand Walking With Dinosaurs is the most loved dino documentary to ever exist
I always saw the semitransparent dinosaurs as the ghosts of the past being played over a modern sunrise, they used to walk the same ground we walked on and that's crazy to me.
Spring 1999: Seven years old me had no idea what he was about to witness for the first time. He had no idea how his entire life would be shaped for what came after this intro.
This show, The Land Before Time, Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III, and Disney's Dinosaur were all part of my childhood love for dinosaurs. And I would watch them endlessly.
Walking With Dinosaurs Walking With Beasts Walking With Monsters Prehistoric Park Primeval The Ballad of Big Al Chased By Dinosaurs Sea Monsters Impossible Pictures is responsible for a large chunk of my childhood. I will always treasure the memories.
I owned the full season on VHS when I was younger, and watching this brought back some crazy nostalgia. I swear the opening to this show is one of my earliest memories.
When I saw the sunrise in Prehistoric Planet's teaser all I could think about was this intro and felt disappointed when I didn't hear the dinosaur scream at the end.
When i was a kid i would binge watch all the episodes of this show all the time, but most of the time i would stop after part 3 because watching the liopleurodon dying on the beach made me sad as he was my favourite
I still love that oversized Liopleurodon. 25 meters Liopleurodon may have never existed in real life. But 25 meters Liopleurodon will always exist in my heart
Came here as soon as I saw the news of this show returning next year. Man the kid in me mentally screamed seeing the news. I hope a new generation get the experience and feeling I had when this was on. Keep this theme and bring Kenneth Brannagh back for narration.
God. What a classic. This series of documentaries, the whole walking with series, was a goldmine and such a huge part of my childhood! My god. Iirc chased by dinosaurs/sea monsters were also parts of it. Prehistoric planet (the original although the new one is fire too) and prehistoric park were fantastic as well! We’re getting some good ones now but my god these were the best of them and truly bring back some of my best memories!
Am I the only one who chose this over cartoons when I was 5,though I wasn’t born at the time it was released i had the DVD and watched it when I was 5 Screw Mickey
Without a doubt one of if not the #1 most iconic opening to any Dinosaur documentary show considering that it sounds so dramatic and suspenseful. Add to the fact that it was used for the opening of that show makes it even more iconic and unforgettable.
Childhood memories!!!I was 3 years old and I watching with my brother all episodes hundred of times the intro and all episodes the voices of the dinosaurs I remember averything I can't remember how many times I watching so so much always the best Walking with the Dinosaurs from BBC no words I will never forget this series about dinosaurs never!!!!
Helen May The creature in question was a dromaeosaur with a recolored Utahraptor model that appeared in "Death of a Dynasty". At the time, it didn't match up with any discoveries, but now that Dakotaraptor has been discovered it does...kinda. It still needs feathers.
This maybe inaccurate nowadays but goddamn is it well done both in concept and in execution The nostalgia is currently flowing in my bloodstream right now, goddamn this was a good show!
I know PP has Hans Zimmer and all that talented people we always see now on hollywood. But holly dino if this ain´t one of the best projects ever put on audio, its been a fifth of a century and this documentary has incredible stories orquestated in such a way that makes me feel like a child again, full of wonder.
5 years old when this came out on television. This was my childhood for a long time... When I have kids one day they are going to watch them all with me. Im gonna get my hands on Every single “Walking with” movie there is!
when i was a kid i watched the VHS tapes so many times that the tape itself is consumed. I loved it so much, i remember my love for dinosaurs when i was a kid and it brings tears to my eyes to think of those happy times.
I watched walking with dinosaurs so many times on vhs and it just blew me away. Kenneth Branagh is my favorite childhood narrator. I hope he does another dinosaur documentary like prehistoric planet 3 with David Attenborough or life on our planet 2 .
I had this movie on dvd because I’ve always loved dinosaurs since I was a child. It was one of the first things I owned when we came to America and I watched it literally everyday and was on repeat for our 12 hour drives to Colorado to see family. My parents must’ve hated it lol
Ah man, getting home in time and putting the telly on in time to see this opening intro, so good! No watching what you want if u didnt set the video to record it you missed it lol
