Thank you for this, it worked! I had to triple check the polarity though from other sources as your video shows the plug with the polarity reversed (around 7:32) but you are very clear at the start of the video which way is correct.

Hi Titan, at the beginning you show the right photos with the positive on the right (wrong) and then the photo with the positive on the left (CORRECT) but in the video you put the connector jst in the HDZERO in the reverse position . The positive in the glasses must be on the left, not on the right as you showed in the video.

Finally having a real time stamp on in-google recording files is of great help in keeping track of them- my OCD has settled down. Hopefully the RTC battery will last a few years, like on a computer- if not, it's not a difficult renew. Thanks for your clear and simple tutorial!

Unfortunately my goggles was already opened (having done the SMA mod) so I decided to skip straight to the RTC connector insertion. So reverse polarity it was. I grew suspicious since RTC did not work and then I found the RTC battery was getting luke warm. THEN I noticed from @TheDougNeal the comment regarding reverse polarity... Well, nice howto but I may not be alone in skipping and reverse install. I too did not know the batteries with connector were sold in two versions. Oh well... Though preliminary it seems as the goggles survived with a functioning RTC.

Excellent video. Everything working as described here, but more importantly, where did you get the upgraded Goggle foam ? The Goggles themselves are great, but one thing that just isn't is the foam that comes in the box.
