@@wheelie1207 One of his videos he posted a while back he tells his "story" check it out. Also check out Van Life Voyages . There's a video where Derec who's a quadriplegic and I have a chat about basically life in a wheelchair.. hope this helps. Cheers
Really love these videos. They help me have proof so I can reassure my family that I don't need to be coddled on days I need my chair more than my cane. They're not overbearing, just a bit too protective at times.
This is the most inspirational thing I have seen in a looong time! I've been paralyzed for 2 and a half years now and have been dreaming about van life this whole time! It's amazing seeing people are actually doing it!
Yes, I was very impressed as well how he makes due with the bare minimum but yet has everything he needs, when and where he needs it. Getting lifts, ramps could run tens of thousands of dollars..
@@paralifetv-youreverydaywhe8314I paid 800Aud for a used lift and had an engineer fit it for 700. C5 quadreplegic, me n the missus travelled all over Australia
Awesome! This really goes to show that even if you've got to do things differently, you can still get back to doing the things you love and living the lifestyle you love.
@@paralifetv-youreverydaywhe8314 You definitely should! I've recently gotten a job for a travel company where i go around all of the museums and beauty spots and review thier access features. There's a lot to see and do over here!
AMAZING!! Thank you, Richard. One of the things we are missing most is camping since the injury. I have a vintage '64 camper and now my husband can no longer get into. Which breaks my heart to no end. Oh the memories... He has a van, so we def can convert it, so it can pull my camper. Although he will no longer camp with our two baby kitties inside, at least he can stay in his van at the same time.. Gawh dang, I missed when you were on your disappearance (especially you did it when we were newly injured). Please do not do that again! ha. FOR US, at least!! :)
This is so cool ! I'm getting evaluated for my own chair soon but have to do lots of shoulder and arm pt before I do it so I can be at a good enough level to transfer etc.,
Love the haircut. I'm down for camping as soon as I get my new chair and my dog! Also, need AJ out of school for summer or whatever, can't leave him by himself but he loves to camp, too!
Awesome job dude. Keep up the good work and he has to make sure he keeps his weight down. If he doesn't he will need a ramp / lift. Don't do what i did and gain so much weight!! He will be sorry if he doesn't
You guys are so inspirational! Thank you! I’m in the Chicago area and a part time wheelchair and part time crutch user. Do you know of any groups in my area?
Thanks guys iv van life's before but this guy has it down , , stove bed , he is a t 12 Para he can do this right , , some times the transfer thing works how ever u need to get there he's doen it . But I would prefer lift .
Got the wheelchair (finally)…. And got a minivan with 85k donated to me yesterday.. about to be outside this box finally!!! 👊 2 years too long in the square… 🤪
I didn't recognize you with the new haircut. Great to see someone so mobile, as a C6 C7i can't imagine. Let me know if you want to go shooting? I'm here in Atlanta and shoot weekly. Check out some of my gun tube videos.
Omg great video!!! Question for Matt.. plz respond if you can cause I wouldn't mind doing this myself. I see you have no insulated walls and a buddy heater.. is that good enough for the cold in the northeast?
We are an orphans.. we live in NGO and a lot of handicapped people live here.. ... Locomotor handicapped deaf and mute mental patients, total bed patients... We do not have any complaint with this NGO but But they are in limits, they cannot be crossed. This NGO that runs because of donation ...
Ok, the van is cool and I'm glad you're doing what you want the way you want but what trike is that?! I love trikes (not paralyzed, just a fat guy with limited mobility) and that's a totally different trike than I've seen. My friend is in a wheelchair and I keep trying to get him interested.
If you are able to help us in any way, please do help. There are many people here who do not have comfortable wheelchairs, You know very well that what is the meaning of a wheelchair for handicapped
