I feel I was very lucky to grow up with a family just like he's talking about. Mom could grow ANYTHING in the garden. Dad taught all of us, even us girls, to hunt and fish a little, and grandma taught us how to can vegetables and meat. When covid was at it's worse and people couldn't get out to the stores easily we shared vegetables from the garden with all the neighbors. Nobody went without anything they needed.

This is one song that most every culture can relate to. Country Boy does not refer to a person's race. It refers to a way of life. There are country folk in every state. My grandpa taught me a lot growing up, most everything in this song was how he grew up and tried to bestow in his family. I grew up close to the city, but my heart lies in the country. A shotgun, a rifle and 4 wheel drive was a necessity for life and remains true today.

Hanks father is such an original. A dirt road poet whosesongs will live on and on and on. Hank junior here is very different. Honestly not really my favorite, but nonetheless really good, and he's earned his place in the history of country music. Hank the third is punk country, and while I find some of his music not to my tastes, he's quite good. And now there's Hank the forth, but I haven't listened to him yet. Music runs deep in this family bloodline

Hank, Sr. was a legend. When he died, the country music industry tried to turn Hank, Jr. into him. When Jr. rebelled the industry turned their backs on him. He created his own sound and the rest is history. He often pokes them in the eye, especially in Family Tradition. You should listen to I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive from the album Three Hanks. It is Junior with his son Hank the third, and Hank Sr.'s music filtered in. Awesome (and I don't use that word frivolously). Although Hank the third sounds so much like Sr., he went his own way with music, too.

I was born in LA area, but my mom didn't like raising us in the smog and such. She moved us to the countryside of central valley California which is agricultural based. Now my kids have chickens and we grow our own veg and fruit. Heck I went out skeet shooting when I was pregnant with my first lol.

My husband is a Dust Bowl refugee descendant from the Central Valley. Coincidentally I grew up about 20 minutes from when his grandparents were from, but on the Texas side of the Red River.

Grew up in the country then moved to the city for a job. Super loved it at first...just how convenient everything was. After about five years, I was over it and couldn't wait to get out. Bought an acre of land in a rural area. Have chickens, rabbits and a garden and I can see the stars again. I don't think I could ever go back to city living. Family Tradition by Hank Williams is also a great one by him.

I got to see Hank, Jr. in a free concert in Temple, TX, before he got very famous. One of my grandson's loved his music, and I was able to make it possible for him to see Hank, Jr. before he passed away. This song brought tears to my eyes. (I grew up on a farm, too.)

Country guy, here...my first time firing a gun was when I was 9. My parents had a pistol for protection (my dad was an over-the-road trucker and was away from home a lot), and they would take me with them whenever they would go for target practice. I got my own first gun for Christmas when I was 12, a Marlin bolt action .22 rifle, and was allowed to take it out into the woods by myself. My folks were confident that I had heeded their warnings and teachings; I knew a gun isn't a toy but a tool. Never really one for hunting unless absolutely necessary (no hate for hunters, though, of course), I focused more on the precision aspect of shooting. At my high school, there were guns displayed in just about every other vehicle (lots of my classmates headed straight from school to the woods during hunting season)...and no one ever thought about using one because of a problem with someone, not even after getting their ass kicked in a fight. It simply wasn't even a consideration. We do, however, make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too...sipped on some mighty fine 'shine and puffed a few tasty pipes whilst camping with friends over the 4th of July weekend. I moved to the city when I was 30, but it didn't take long for the woods to call me back home. Yeah...it's a 120-ish mile round trip to the nearest mall, but the peace and relaxation more than make up for such inconveniences. I don't even have to lock my doors at night or when I'm not home 🤘

His father was Hank Williams Sr old country music. Next should be Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound. He started off in life singing his father's songs more less pushed into it to keep his dad's memory alive. As he got older he went into his style of country music. His Dad's Hank Sr most famous song was Your Cheating Heart.. Check him out too. Check out Hank Jr Bio where he fell 600 ft and rip his face off he like to have died he's lucky to be alive. They nick name Hank Jr ( Bocephus ). Another great song is ( FAMILY Tradition ) a must to watch talks about family life. If you pay attention to his songs

Hank Jr. started out being a copy cat of his dad,and he had a hard time trying to get the country music community to accept him as having his own musical interest and talent beyond the foundations his dad had established. After a very bad fall off a cliff he recovered and began creating the hank Jr. we see today and he is truly a part of the country outlaw movement of the 70s and 80s.

@@ajaxslamgoody9736 As a young man he sounded enough like his dad and that it was how he was presented to the country music world in the 70s .He dressed in the suits and glitzy cowboy hats that were popular at that time in country music .Here is a direct quote from his memoir ,"You've been taught from the time you can possibly remember to look like, act like, be like, everything exactly like your legendary father,'”.You should maybe look at a few of those old videos of those early years and his performances.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FYT8q93kqVI.html
