This simulation shows the penetration performance of .50 BMG (12.7×99mm NATO) multi-purpose anti-materiel high-explosive incendiary/armor-piercing ammunition projectile produced by Nammo under the model name NM140 MP.
This is my first video including Eulerian domain simulation.

I wonder how much the HE affects total penetration. Maybe a comparison between both on a much thicker block to see total pen would be cool to see.

armor suggestion vs 3BM59 round from 1km. The armor specs (simple version angled in 45°) is: 50mm steel 500 bhn, 50mm boron/tungsten carbide, 25mm 600bhn steel, 30mm uhmwpe, 50mm steel 600bhn.

the explosive compound is hit from two sides and pushed forward by the heavy/hard core into the room after impact as an expanding arc. so a slower pyrotechnical ignition train is used to postpone the explosion

Why is there a tungsten core? You could use copper or lead.

Tungsten is one of the heaviest metals and is an order of magnitude more effective as a penetrator than either lead or copper.

I guess because of the penetrating core would be heavy and thus having alot of inertia. When fired, if the core is not pushed directly from the base it'll shift inside the bullets, reducing accuracy.
