As an hvac guy in Arizona the attic is hotter then on the roof then they don’t want the air handler or furnace in the house because it take sqft away

Good call on getting a hook. Vehicles dont always do what you want in deep sand much less the face of a sand cliff. As an offraoder that understands pictures dont do it justice, that video did it justice. Especially standing next to the truck, you could see how much the front was still on an incline and tipping sideways.

For sandy footings if done properly the geotechnical engineer will take soil samples and the soil will be reinforced with fill dirt with better compaction, it cost more.

My ac is on the side of the house on the ground here in buckeye az usually see the older homes with the ac on top

I do a lot of house pads as far as dirt work in Arizona, when we do the mass grade for those naberhoods we have to over excavate them 2 foot, and a shit ton of water to match a moisture level that is required for code, lay the dirt back in with 1 foot lifts to compact it, each lift is compaction tested and normally with shrinkage more dirt has to be packed on top. Then if the house pads are not started soon enough (normal for neighborhoods like that) they have to flood the lot (what the sprinklers is doing) to get moisture back in the dirt so that then the forms of the pad have that nice trench that you see and the dirt is stable to not crack foundations.

As an HVAC tech. Those package units are usually a lot more expensive to buy and get parts for down the road, and usually have a shorter warranty than a standard split system. Issue with AZ would be the excessive heat in the summer. The only times you'd be able to service the unit would be early morning. Package units are definitely nicer to work on though so I will agree on that one. IDK what the issue would be with doing a crawl space or basement rather than an RTU. I don't know if that area has a high water table or flooding issues possibly.

The gravel looks like that because they don’t put down any ab down and pack it. Just gravel on top of the sand and eventually it makes it way back up.
