I've just returned from Warsaw and I found the remnants of the ghetto wall that you can see between Sienna and Złota streets and later went to the Umschlagplatz memorial. It was hard to take it in but we must never forget that this happened to people and was done by people. Not monsters. There is no such thing as monsters, just people who behave like monsters. Genuine racism gives you an excuse to look at another person and think they're not quite as human as you and that harming or even killing them isn't the same as killing someone 'like you'. It's the first step on the road that leads to this nightmare. You do a great service to everyone telling this story, Patrick.
How do humans get to a point where this is considered 'acceptable'? What is it in us that allows us to treat fellow beings with such disregard and cruelty? And how is it possible to stay decent and humane, when having witnessed such atrocity? Yet, it's happened again and again - Cambodia, the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda... Somehow, there are still people - such as Jozef - who retain their courage and heart to combat this evil. And thank God, such people exist.
Curious World we need to look to ourselves and our relationship with God. Too many have drifted away and think they can live anyway they want but I’m sorry they can’t. There are Divine Laws and natural laws to be obeyed like the 10 commandments🙏 What happens when people lose sight of God/Truth is that they become victims no longer empowered by the Love of God🙏

Niesamowity człowiek. Nie tylko bardzo dobry z charakteru, ale też bardzo odważny i sprytny. Przecież a takim getcie mogli go złapać i wywieźć razem z innymi. Czytałam kiedyś też taką książkę Martina Greya "Wszystkim których kochałem" właśnie o takim mężczyznie, tylko że on był Żydem, który się wydostawał z getta z tego co pamiętam. Niesamowita książka.
