I met Jerry at the 2023 Model A Days event at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan. Jerry built this 1929 Ford Model A Boat Tail Speedster without any plans! He also built the body around a seat that he purchased first! Here the complete story in this video.
When I am not making images for my normal (if there is such a thing) bodies of work as a photographer, I make plenty of fun videos for my Model A or other related videos from that time period that you can find on this channel too. Be sure to check them out.
As to gear, I shoot a variety of full frame Nikon cameras and lenses. Most everything is shot on a tripod to produce the sharpest images possible.
You can see more about me and my photography at my website here www.kensmithgallery.com/

My 1930 Ford Town Sedan has eyebrow fenders and still has the original interior. It's certainly worn but it still is functional. I have rebuilt the driveline, suspension, and tie rods, installed a modernized Model A motor with oversized intake valves, insert bearings, and a high compression head. I also have a lightened flywheel and V8 clutch. The car comfortably cruises at 50MPH but I've had it up to 60MPH. I have also insulated and installed sound deadener which has made the car enjoyable to be in even at 90 degrees.

I saw that at Model A Days, a great period correct tribute. That backstory makes it even more impressive. Thank you and the owner for sharing ~ Chuck

Enjoyed! Thanks for what you fellas are doing for the Model A hobby. I don't believe I've even had the opportunity to sit in a model A but I sure would love to own and drive one some day. That wish may never be realized but I am enjoying the hobby through you and others. Thank you for that.

It is my pleasure! All of these folks I interviewed love sharing their stories and it's so you and other viewers get to appreciate their vehicles and the benefit it is to the hobby.

My question is how in the world did I miss this?!? I was there! Oh, well, I am sure I missed others things as well. But I did meet you! Great show! Glad you shot it so more people could see it (me included).

And that IS the question! Glad you got to see it in video though. Perhaps it needed one of those huge magnetic signs like I had :-)

Absolutely beautiful car. I recently purchased a 1930 rolling chassis with intention of building a boat tail. Not sure if it will ever come to fruition but at least it's a start.

It is a beautiful car. Sounds like you have the start of a future build! You can do it!

Instead of rubber in the friction dampers, you may want to try leather (cowhide) with the rough side glued down with contact cement and the smooth side lubed with a little waterproof grease, I've done this before, works pretty good
