Liar Liar Reaction is today's video! Hey everyone! Join me as I watch LIAR LIAR for the first time today and experience this comedic and endearing masterpiece!
Conniving attorney Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) is an ace in the courtroom, but his dishonesty and devotion to work ruin his relationships. His wife, Audrey (Maura Tierney), has left him for a more dependable man, and Fletcher often breaks the commitments he makes to his beloved son, Max (Justin Cooper). When Max wishes his dad would stop lying for 24 hours, Fletcher suddenly finds that he can only speak the truth -- on the day his career-deciding court case has to be won.

One of Jim Carrey's best! Fun fact: at the end of the movie when the crowd is watching Fletcher hauled out of the luggage, Jim Carrey is actually in the crowd as his Fire Marshall Bill character from In Living Color. You can see the extras standing around him glancing at him and some are trying hard not to laugh.

I saw this in the theater. I loved it! His "overacting" style was PERFECT for this particular role! Love Mauara Tierney from "ER" as Abby Lockhart as well.

It's not "overacting", it's simply Jim Carrey being himself. No but for real, I like to think this movie was not a comedy until they casted him, Carrey is a phenomenon.

I am so happy you reacted to this!!! This and Billy Madison were my childhood lol(older brothers). I’m only half in but couldn’t contain my excitement, I hope to see you react to the outtakes they are so good. When I was little and he was describing the guy who beat him up, I couldn’t figure out why he was able to lie about it… wasn’t until I was older I realized he was describing himself… I was not the most clever 6 year old

After Fletcher gets done beating himself up in the bathroom and throws himself against the wall a couple of times and lands on the floor, that loud crack you hear is the sound of Jim’s head really hitting the floor hard. Nobody can say that man isn’t committed to his physical comedy.

Oh no I could never watch some scenes as a kid because it hit to close to home. My dad wasn’t even a good dad because he was never around so the times he’d “promise” to meant more. I understand poor Max’s crushed feeling of his dad not showing up on his b-day and having work put first

As a kid I mostly watched The Mask, Ace Ventura, and Bruce Almighty. Liar liar is good I just as a kid couldn’t connect and there was a lot of cringey moments. 26:28 talk about a golden reaction! Lol! The fact he deliberately put soap in his eyes is wild and hopefully was fake soap.

32:22 We don't know for a fact that she'll win sole custody though. The kids have a good chance of going with their dad. In any case, the difference between him and Reed is that that man is fighting to be with his children. They want to be with him because he's a good father and wants to be with them. Reed does love Max, but he's squandered every chance he's had till then to be a good father or even a father at all. His son isn't being taken from him, he's losing his son through his own selfishness.

Just for kicks, and because I guess I had finished Netflix back in 2020, I watched this movie with the French dub and got a kick out of the fact that all of the outtakes were dubbed as well. Just think about the effort involved in that someone had to transcribe all of Jim Carey's various improvised antics (and the other actors' reactions), translate them into French, and then the French dubbing actors had to perform them and try to make them sound as spontaneous as they originally were.
