Is a pike related to a gar? We have gar in Florida and they look very similar to that fish. Most people throw them out when they catch them they don't realize that GAR back strap is very tasty
Money. Power. Material possessions mean nothing. Moments in time are priceless. If your lucky you’ll have more than 5 in a lifetime that you will cherish and love forever. The great thing is that those moments in time will be passed on to your children and it will become their cherished moment in time. Pass up the overtime for money and go fishing with your child. You can always make up the money loss. Can’t make up lost time with your kids. They’re only gonna be young only once. You can’t make it up. Don’t miss the school plays. Little league baseball games for a few extra dollars because one day you would gladly pay a fortune to go back in time to be there. BE THERE. 👍
When I was a child, my older brother and my father would take me fishing a few times per summer. They would never catch anything. They were adverse to conversation, in-depth or small talk. They didn't drink. They didn't relax - either the metal bench of a tin-can boat or an upturned bucket to sit on. And they didn't marvel at the beauty of nature. So I would sit there staring for eight hours straight, after having gotten up at dawn. Amazingly, it got worse. They'd also go ice fishing on -20 Celsius temps in northern Alberta. It was horrible and to this day, is the reason I don't fish. Not all "time spent fishing with dad" experiences are good.
The pictur of me catching a double digit bass back in 2018 I was 12 or 13 makes my dad cry he says the look of pure happiness is just somthing you can’t fake
Now you need to learn how to hunt and put food on the table that is a true survival skill knowing how to survive on your own ,you have now opened a new can of worms In your life. The sky is the limit and you will enjoy every minute of it.
@@joe7114 I beach fish in my town but it often has me thinking about if something like the grid went down..the shores could be completely over fished and depleted in a few months time. I would think the same would happen with game animals.
@@TheBucketBoysIA yeah I have only been fishing for about 8 years but been on the boat for two and in person i have only seen one pike that big and it snapped the line before we could get it in the net
Lil man really did have a big ol pike hell yeah get it kiddo love when parents actually raise they kids instead of ploppin em in front of the tv or handin em an ipad. You are one great dad teachin him real skills and gettin him outside😁
Way to go Dad it does not matter if it’s a gold fish 1” long !!!! It’s you with him showing him how to fish to love God’s wonderful creations!! You love him ! He loves you! And your an example of what Dad’s do with their little Boys!!! Good Job Dad!! God Bless You!
I don't care about the fish or the location, when it comes to watching a youngster catch a fish. The fun and fascination of that time fishing is something he will remember and talk about forever! Take a kid fishing! It's a great thing to do! Good job little dude! Nice fish! Thanks dad for teaching him and being there with him! You rock!
I really enjoyed watching this video. Yet I truly wish more of today's youth. Would be out fishing , hunting or playing sports. So many fish only online in their homes. This young boy will remember this Northern Pike for the rest of his life. Especially when his Dad was watching how well he did. 💪🏼🙏🏻✨
snaggin’ a fish is always exciting…but, there is NOTHING more enjoyable than the excitement from a wee one’s fishing battle! WAY TO GO, LITTLE MAN! WOOHOO! 👍👍👊👊❤️❤️
@@VsigmaGt no, as a father and as someone who routinely fishes with dads and their kids, most dads are more that happy to allow their kids to catch the fish. The pride watching the kid catch the fish is far more enjoyable.
This kid is a legend man! Everyone's talking about the fish but no body is talking about this kid not only getting his pb pike under the age of 16 but pull him in and kept that tension because that hook was barely in there!!! You've got some skill kid!👍👍👍

Great job catching that big fish! I loved when he said let me do it. Awesome that some parents still teach their children about getting food from nature.
That's so freaking awesome! Great job lil buddy and to your Daddy and or Mama for taking the time to teach you how to fish! I'm a self taught fisher woman and I go as much as possible! I hope it also sparks a hunting bug in this lil fella! We all need to get back to the basics and know how to be self sufficient! Our world would be much better off not to mention it sure is a hell of a lot cheaper than going to the grocery store! Keep it up young man! 👏❤🐟
A fellow that age, having a fight with a catch like that. Will remember that feeling forever. Buddy has a future in the fishing business. Tight lines 🎣
