That’s what threw me off. Wouldn’t they see it as compassion for a friend and that same compassion would then be applied to them as a potential partner? But then again I had to step back and remember most of these women who come on these shows are the stereotypes most men like to avoid if possible. Personal opinion but anyone on these shows is just looking for clout and hook ups (I’m sure not all of them), just like how finding an actual partner tends to happen naturally and not through a DM or on video.

17:23, this happened to me when I first began dating, the girl was really into me, and one night we hanged at her place, I opened up about all my life drama, and teared up a bit... the next day she began acting different... From that day on, I never opened up to someone that fast. Personally, I believe it's all about timing, and it gotta be something she does first. I would agree that timing is important. I just think people in general feel a bit awkward and/or uncomfortable when someone talks about their vulnerabilities and hard stuff etc when you just get to know someone and aren't close. They lack the self reflection and life experience to be honest with themselves to see the kind of person they need as a partner. The reaction to the guy crying by the cast and the comments under this video is very telling. Men simply aren't allowed to feel their emotions, West cried for a very valid reason, a reason that would make most people cry involuntarily because it really just cuts that deep. But the reaction from Aba, the cast and comments is "he shouldn't be crying, he should hold that in." I don't think he intentionally wanted to weep, most men do not but it is a response that his body wanted to have for that specific emotion and that's okay, nothing commendable, just a normal reaction.

I think he realized he wanted to give us kids a better childhood than he had, but ended up repeating a lot of what his own father did with him and his brother, which was mainly spending time with them while doing projects/work around the house instead of relaxing, leaning into their interests, etc.

I never saw my mom cry either, so sometimes I find it weird that men want to act like it’s a man thing. You shouldn’t cry in front of strangers period. My mom taught me that you should never let strangers see you sweat. Though this wasn’t helpful in personal relationships, when it came to strangers or platonic friends it was great. You should build a foundation of trust with a person before you start being emotionally vulnerable and if you find that when you were vulnerable it didn’t go well, it had more to do with your relationship than the sex of that person.

Honestly, it depends on the person. If a girl (or any person), rejects you for crying, that is a sign of a narcissist. It means that they want their problems first and foremost, and they don't want your problems upstaging theirs. Instead of feeling sorry that they reject you, you should look at is as a bullet dodged. While I understand that there's a certain point where crying/complaining all the time becomes annoying, having a genuine moment coming from real grief should not be looked down upon. I've sat with and comforted many crying men, from my father, husband, brothers, relatives, friends, and colleagues. I have never once thought less of them for crying (also to be honest, seeing guys cry always makes me cry too). In fact, in most cases, it has made me feel closer to them.

Completely unacceptable. I am a woman, and I love when men express their emotions around me, because it means they've gained my trust, and feel comfortable expressing themselves. That is hard to achieve since there are women like them in the video (men as well) who shame them for it. It's definitely hard to get a man's emotions out - it takes a lot of convincing. I don't mind if a man cries on my shoulder - it's very unhealthy to keep your tears bottled up inside... I'll continue to be this way. When he's out in the real world, he has to be stoic, unemotional, fearless, etc., to not be shamed by society. When he comes home to OUR world, he can cry... it's not the worse thing in the world. He can express his emotions. It's OK to fear, we can talk it out, and step by step, I can help you overcome it. Everyone fears something once in a while, even if it's stupid. Hell, I'm afraid of stink bugs! Call me old-fashioned, but this is how I think relationships should work. Forget upgrading phones, computers, TV's, video games... we need to upgrade society, because at the end of the day, we're the ones that crash.

The body count question, in my opinion, is important because it speaks to discipline. In many cases, it also could be indicative of behavior in relationships. Someone who has a body count of 2 might have been in long relationships, and that could mean you could expect them to take you seriously. It's also a preference for some people (women included) to not have someone who has a high number. I know that my ex had a much lower count than me, and that made her self-conscious because she felt inexperienced. When it comes to someone you are actually planning to be with, I think it's a good discussion to have.

A lot of people seem to think that this only applies to women, but it goes for men, too. The more bodies you have, the higher the chances of your "abundance mentality" kicking in. Think about it - if you can get any person you want, you don't see people as valuable (relationship-wise). Like women, any man who can get women through looks and/or money (i.e. a former president) will cheat. Trump, for example, has cheated on all his wives. This "high-value men can sleep with 100s or 1000s of women and settle down with one woman forever and never cheat" spiel is pure fantasy. Ask someone who has tried 50 ice cream flavours to pick one to eat for the rest of their lives vs. someone who has only eaten 5 and see how well that goes. Let's call a spade a spade. @@Prophezora
