I have to agree with Aba on this one. The other girls gave her an "out." She did not have to respond with the amount of money she saved as everyone else chose not to answer. The fact that she answered (and answered last, at that) showed that she took her savings amount as a point of pride & a way to differentiate herself from the other girls. Then, when the natural follow-up question came, "Well, what do you do for a living?," she was ambiguous with her reply. She knew her savings would set her apart, and she was proud of it. However, you should be proud of both how much money you've saved up as well as how you earned your money, especially when you had the option to just be silent. Preach said, "Well, she's damned if she does, and she's damned if she doesn't" in reference to her answering the question about her job, the thing is she would not have needed to answer the question about her job if she didn't answer the question about her savings, especially as the other girls chose not to answer, and as such, they were not judged on their answers. She set herself up to be damned.

Mercedes was the only girl who even said their bank account amount, she didn’t go first either, so she could’ve did what the first girl did. She’s proud of having 500k+ which is why she mentioned it
