Whitney has a great eye, she should go more often. The boy that just walked up and started flicking the lighter and inspecting the inside it more than likely a future picker! Great finds !
That’s great you are helping the foster kids. I was a foster parent and those kids must love going to that store. Most never got to shop. Keep doing the great job.
Well you kinda have to if you want to get the most out of the item, you really expect every garage sale to have everything for a dollar? Lol get outta hereee smh
@@alexramm9923 it depends on the motivation of the seller. If they trying to move old unused stuff they might donate or throw in the trash, then yes, price it low. If they go on ebay and try to sell things for close to what's it's worth, they mostly will hold on to it unless the prefect buyer shows up who wanted that specific item for a small discount.
FOSTER CARE... I didn't know that you were foster parents. My wife and I, fostered 505 children over our journey as foster parents. Adopting four. Truly rewarding. Now retired most still keep in contact with us and stop by when they need a meal, to borrow money, a bill paid...etc etc etc...
Thats nuts 500 kids thank you for doing them justice and allowing them to get some piece for me not having my parents around as a kid was the hardest part not having anyone to talk and trust
@baberuth895 well then as you know, some homes are better than others. We have a christian home but allowed all our kids to express themselves through exploration without forcing g our beliefs on them. Culture and diversity issues were overcome and every child was loved unconditionally. Though many storms were challenging, God always provided what was needed to deal with each one. Our goal was to ensure they knew love, if only for a short time. For many they return often because in their words, its the only place they experienced boundaries and unconditional love. Wishing you the best
Marx toy factory has been closed for decades. It's literally 1 mile from my home the way the crow flies. Right across the Ohio river. They do have a museum there that has about 1 of every thing that's pretty amazing in Moundsville WV. They have the patent on the Big Wheel and those are worth a lot if you find one in even fair condition.
My older brother had that Fire helmet and as long as I can remember it never worked. After we grew up my mom told us that my dad disabled all the noisemakers in our toys.
Wait....wait....how the hell did I not realize he were from Be The Village?! I literally watch that channel multiple times a week but never recognized him when I’d watch these videos. What the HECK?! How..how did I miss that one?! As soon as I saw Whitney it clicked and I was like “Wait WHAT?!”. ..hooooow did I not realize that!?
Those hockey sticks appeared to be game used. I noticed the goalie sticks had G Snow (Garth Snow) and O Kolzig (Olaf Kolzig). Pretty beat up and probably not signed...but certainly cool.
That ugly sweater is exactly the same as Edbassmaster sweater In his "pshhh" videos. I'd bet someone who wants to cosplay him would pay alot for it . I've actually been looking for a similar sweater for awhile lol yours is exactly like it
"I looked them up" ... aka "I'm running a museum today". No one realizes that you can't ask online prices at a garage sale. They want online pricing without online risk & online effort. Like ad, shipping & FEES. I usually walk quickly when I hear those words?
I agree but I thought she said she was sending them to auction so maybe she was hoping to sell them without commission before doing so? I guess running into something like that is cool if you are a collector but not for a reseller.
We have a thrift store that is put on by a lot of elderly people that price things at 10 cents, 15 cents. Today was half price day. 🤣💓 (My total was 65 cents)
The Henry Hawk glass is one of two glasses I've never seen in the wild to complete my set. Of course you find a lady with a tub full 😂 Way overpriced though, yikes. 😬
@@ongogablogian3178 when the picker looks up he doesn’t say shit. U just have to quote the price, need not say looked up looked up like beck beck bitch
You have probably figured it out by now but the little attachment on the side of the Texaco Sky Chief helmet is a little battery operated microphone. Not a bell. You speak into it and the speaker is up inside the helmet. You can hear yourself. This must work for it to have any value. One of my favorite toys as a kid.
I just sold the Texaco Fire Hat yesterday. I wonder if someone saw it here and looked it up? It sold for 41.98 plus 18.33 shipping. It required a big box to ship it. that one has a microphone speaker system that was not working on mine. My cost was 1 dollar as it was pulled out of a hoarders basement covered in dust.
“Know-bodies really interested, they don’t Wana pay you” well yeah when you tell them you looked it up repeatedly you alienate the people from wanting to buy from you? What’s the point? Lol 😂
And she most definitely was looking at current auctions and not sold auctions. She really thinks her coca-cola mass produced made in China crap from the late 70's is worth taking to an auction. The auctioneers are going to laugh her ass out of the building.
Garage sales and lunch is a nice way to have a day date with your wife. Always important to spend time together and if you can do it while "working"...bonus!!!
Hey John, what’s the best way to learn of all the garage sales, flea markets, estate sales etc in your surrounding area? What do you do to find the ones you go to? Thanks for your time
No matter what anyone says this is the cold hard truth, just drive around And look for them lol, of course there are websites for estate sales etc. but so many other people have access to that too it’s the Internet and you have to be there first if you see something you like in the pictures, even if there isn’t pictures and just descriptions some people will show up right as it starts just to get their hands on an item, the best way is going and finding the ones that you would only be able to find in person.
lol you got me laughing bro, you said size 16 is HUGEEEE....I'm currently wearing size 16 nike mens shoes, and could possibly out grow them soon, I mean im also 6 foot five, which makes sense, because most people with bigger feet are taller
Our girls were 3 years and 1 1/2 years old when we became Foster Parents. Our first call was for an emergency weekend placement only, we said yes. They (and God) Brought us 2 month old identical twin drug addicted baby boys. That weekend turned into 2 years before we were allowed to adopt our boys and become their forever parents. Having 4 under 4 was a MASSIVE trial but we wouldn't trade it for the world, however it did "cure" us from staying foster parents LOL Bless you both ♥
It gets me when they go on about ebay prices and they've looked em up, well if you want that price sell on Ebay then! the ease of selling in your front garden and for cash means you should do one with your Ebay prices.
I had to laugh 😅 on foster care and just before they said that they dropped their own kids off at a daycare????? Wish more parents would raise their own kids. We worked 2different shifts just so we could raise our own kids. I would love to see you 2 picking with the whole family. Still a great channel
That little old lady was Tuff..😂😜 She says I looked it up on everything you was interested in John..😂😭 Very cool find's today your wife has a great eye for treasure's.. Well done.. Stay safe all..👍💕🔥⚾🇺🇸😷
How do you find the yard sales that you go to I try checking fb marketplace but the results are hit or miss is there a common website people use typically when they are having one or is it just word or mouth ?
Do you ever negotiate? I always do a pile and it works I get things for real cheap that way. It seems like you pay handsomely perhaps to build rapport with them for future sales?… please explain your approach I’m new to Garage Sales
I think you will be surprised by how fast the boots sale because most show stores only sale up to size 14 and 15 considerd big and tall my brother has problems finding shoes and boots hes a size 15 in highschool and sometimes even on ebay he cant find his size.... my opinion good luck ....
My brother got that Texaco fire helmet as a Christmas gift back in '65. Got a pedal car fire truck to go with it. As I remember it took batteries & had a microphone/speaker attached to it.
I hope to see you out at the Lincoln way buy way , I think it's August 12 all down historical Lincoln way from west Virginia across Ohio and into Indiana
You are fortune with your foster children. Friends of mine fostered for several years but after the kids set the house on fire 3 times they quite. Some foster kids can be vicious and vindictive. Please be careful.
