Today is a big day. It is the knockout round for Adrian and I but Jacob could lock up AOY today. My plan is simple, stay out on the lake and target smallmouth. If I can get them to fire we should be in good shape. I also need to stay in the top half of the field to qualify for the last cup event of the year.

MDJ man took me back to watching my Grandma and Great-Grandma from the mtns. sitting on the dock with a can of worms, cleaning then eating those fish, just like that. I did eat the fins, I couldn't undress the carcass like that though. It is a little dangerous. So lets see if MDJ can crack them chicken legs open and suck out the marrow? That's next level. As for the fishing. Way to stay after them DC. Thanks for sharing your year. Glad you're feeling better. Can't wait for 2022...who in that house is going to unseat the champ?

Awesome year buddy. Congrats to pulling thru this years adversities and just plain killin it! I really don't think people understand how truly gifted you are. The guys you fish with/against are arguably the best in the world. When you can say you made every cut you in every derb you fished in is amazing. Y'all don't know about eating the fins. We do our catfish that way catfish tails, it sounds weird but don't knock it till you try em. DC next time you come past Evergreen,Alabama exit 96 go west 1.4 mile on the left you'll see " The Shack" restaurant go in and get catfish tails.. You'll love em..

That is the stat unit for MLF. It has gps and signal for the iPads used for scoring. It is also used by the camera guys to get a feed out. If you noticed I started the day off with a cameraman and due to my slow start he “disappeared” at the end of period 1. They used the gps to find me and get the cameraman off my boat and to another competitor.

First time I ever heard about all that eating of a fish was in Clayton, NY. Every spring the big deal is Bullheads. They have a big fry and everybody wants to eat the tails. They say it tastes like bacon. I haven't tried one yet.

Can someone explain the penalty he received in the start? Because the fish came off and landed in the boat ? The angler has to physically take the hook out of the mouth for it to be legal ?

In this league fish are not allowed to hit the deck. It is a two minute penalty if it falls off the hook (accidental) but if you boat flip the fish on to the deck it is a flagrant landing penalty and that is 5 minutes

I caught a 29 lb flat head last year on a medium /moderate action rod and 12lb fluorocarbon on a academy squar bill was a 20 min fight and chasing it with the trolling motor to keep it from braking off. Lol 😂
