@@elo0o207I think it looks lovely on his head, idk why you think it makes his head look big. Any higher on the fade and I think he’d come out looking like a q tip. It frames his face very well.
Yes I agree I ended up with excema on my scalp and couldn’t get the cream on the scalp right to get it to heal so got all my hair cut off ( and I am a woman ) after a few months of scalp treatment I got that cleared up and then my hair grew in again and never had that problem again, My hair is good now thick and styled simple. This is one good looking young man. With this new style. This man has scars on his face so I am wondering it he doesn’t have a bit of excema to his face and scalp. Hope he is able to get a handle on it.
You are right ! From time to time, my husband has itching and scabs. He then has a lotion to apply every evening until it all disappears. Then he is quiet for a month or more. We noticed that when he cuts his hair very short regularly, he has this type of problem less often. It's the best solution ! 😊😊😊😊
If he retwisted on a semi regular basis the hair would be parted so that he could properly treat his scalp condition. Cutting it short isn’t necessary.
@@theeALister I was wondering with this black young man if he had gone to a place where the dermatologist was a black person or a barber who was black and had experiences like this if he could have had another alternate. I am white and had a daughter with very very tight curls and my hair is poker straight I took her to a bigger centre than where we lived and looked for a black hair stylist to help me give this child the healthiest hair and scalp that I could . How to comb it out properly ect. Get products to help out. She was about two years old and that poor child had me and I had no clue. It was the best money I had ever spent. You have to go to an expert on the different kinds of hair and I felt the best lessons I got for this child was a lady that had some ideas for me. Now this baby is 34 years old and her hair dresser is a black lady. She says mom some white hair dressers have no clue how to cut or style my hair and I totally agree . No one in my family had hair like her so there was no help from anyone and no black folks living in our small community. I needed help
63 year old, bald, white guy here. Not sure why, but I was mesmerized by this video. What a beautiful job you did. You are indeed gifted by God with talent. Peace be upon you and yours.
I'm not a guy, and I don't have this texture hair. But cleanliness aside -- there is something so therapeutic about having your hair washed by someone. I don't understand why a barber shop wouldn't have a sink. For generations men have been going to the barber shop for a shave because it feels good to have another human being help care for you. Even primates have figured this out!
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. Sir...I'm begging you...PLEASE DON'T GET THE LOCS ANYMORE! They were hiding you. GREAT JOB BARBER! You have a great steady hand any you didn't go overboard with the enhancements. Good work! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
How he managed not to scratch himself raw is amazing. I have numerous allergies, some in regards to shampoos. I've had my scalp flake badly and it itches like crazy.
@p.s.shnabel3409 when mine first started I would literally wake up with my head pounding from itching. Didn't matter how tired I was, I couldn't sleep after it. Its the cause of most of my mental health problems. Thankfully it doesn't get that bad anymore but it's still annoying to deal with. Nizoral legit might have saved my life when it first started. 😥
@@nukenubz5087 I found out that (probably) the root cause was chlorine in the water. Officially, no chlorine was added to the local tap water. But I kept on asking, until I finally got a couple to spill the beans. Yes, they would add chlorine as needed (e.g. after really bad storms). They just thought it was in such minuscule amounts, nobody would notice. Further cementing that as fact is that my rashes (mostly) went away when we moved into a place getting water from our own well. So, please make sure you get to the root of the problem and find out what sets your skin off. It might be your hair care products, it might be your favorite beanie, it might be something you eat or drink. Or it could be the water itself. Everything you use on a regular basis could be the culprit. As a first step, from my own experience I would suggest you buy scent free products. Including laundry detergent. If you can, see a good dermatologist (most I met were quacks, so there is that). If you don't have the money or time, try to find out by eliminating things. Do so one thing at a time, and give it at least several weeks before you go on to the next. Start with things you suspect, first (you probably have noticed a pattern?). And sometimes it can be a combination of elements, so you might see slight improvement if you eliminate X, but still suffer from most of the symptoms. Then keep digging. I hope you will get better soon. Please, don't give up hope.
new to the channel, new subscriber, and as someone who has scalp psoriasis (and a father with full body plaque psoriasis), I can FEEL the breeze and looseness of getting rid of the hair. i did a MAJOR undercut a couple summers ago when I was having a major flare up and it almost made me cry that's how good it felt
I had a bad scalp condition growing up. It cleared up for a few years, but then it came back. I started using Jamaican Black Castor oil products by Tropic Isle Living. Their shampoo, conditioner, oil, and hair food helped clear up my scalp issue and keep it clear. I also occasionally use the jbco oil to perform a hot oil treatment. I don't know if this will work for everyone, but I always like to share it because it really helped me. My scalp no longer has flare ups.
Very nice! I love when stylist/barbers educate the customer on what looks good on them instead of just doing the style knowing it won’t look right (I.e. high fade vs. low fade on his head size and shape) and taking their money. ❤
If the white flakes are dead skin, i totally get his decision. If one has such a dry skalp, it is so hard caring for it and i imagine that having the hair not moving when bound in dreads can prevent dead skin from geting out and start itching. Good for him to get a change, a skalp treatment and a bit of relief for his skin👍
bro came out of surgery a new man, you’re blessed with good hands and foresight of how a cut would look on a client before you even pick up the clippers. cutting hair since 14 has benefitted you greatly Ken. wishing you nothing but more growth and prosperity on your journey of becoming one of the best to ever do it!
Psoriasis is horrible and it is an Autoimmune disorder. My grandmother use to say all good health begins in the gut, if the gut bacteria is bad it comes out in the biggest organ in your body...the skin! Feed the gut microbiome with fermented food, ditch wheat and sugar and take cold pressed castor oil at least once a week. Use products free from SLS, fragrance and colourants for daily to regular washing to minimise scalp irritations. Put castor oil on the scalp before washing preferably overnight and add a little to the scalp every day.

Except of course for the people with conditions such as mast cell diseases and histamine intolerance that do not allow for fermented or aged, oftentimes not even leftovers.
@@LizzieWhiz Using Castor Oil is literally what started my Psoriasis. I'm so mad I ever listened to that guy on RU-vid, never had a problem before using that crap.
Nizoral ketoconazole shampoo worked for my dry scalp. It can be drying because it’s medicated but if you follow with a moisturizing shampoo and a good conditioner after, it should be great!
Oh WOW! The first thing I noticed as you began, this fellow has such a nice head shape! You really have the BEST process/steps/way you "do" the cut. I am learning! His skin flaking ended up not being a major problem for you I noticed. You sure have the "fade" down pat! It's a process but you have all you need to "get there." I am glad you discussed the importance of washing the head as part of it all. As a woman, I would never get my hair done without a wash. Many older women get their hair done once a week, and it is the only time they do have their hair washed, and styled. I am happy to take care of my own hair :). Your cut was spot on, your technique marvelous, I can't imagine anyone in your care not LOVING the results! I watch all you post :). Another LUCKY MAN who got to have you do his hair transformation!
I am totally with you on your thoughts! When we women go to the salon the first thing they usually do is wash and condition our hair…. It gives the hair dresser a fresh start. My husband had a terrible issue with this seborrhea and flaky skin on his scalp and eyebrows. I use tea tree oil / medicated shampoo and it helps. As does a hot oil treatment once a month.
Ken, you are that dude! I love your approach to your craft! I’ve been a fan since you were doing cuts in your basement. Your evolution is inspiring! You are a fantastic ambassador for your craft! FACTS… I’m an older cat with a career, but also an aspiring barber. You help to keep the fire burning. Thank you sir.

I watched your video from start to finish and I throughly even minute it, I am a 74 year old black and fills my heart with joy when I see young brothers displaying their skills on such a high level. And I must commend the young brother who sit in your chair and allowed you to work your majis. Keep displaying your skills.
Nice cut!! I recommend Nizoral shampoo- it will clear up scalp issues (scalp psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.) very fast; it's a blessing in a bottle!
I used Nizoral religiously for several months and it never got rid of my scalp psoriasis. It have temporary itch relief but that was it. Unfortunately, scalp psoriasis has no one size fits all fix.
It is very good for an itchy scalp. Also a flaky scalp often effects the skin on the face and neck and once it clears up the scalp there is usually an improvement with the skin.
My ex has a problem like this and we were able to care for it through his locs. I’d scrape his scalp and use a brush to get the flakes out (there was no other way). Then his scalp was free for a medicated shampoo and oil for a refresh or retwist. We used the As I Am dandruff (blue label) shampoo and oil. It helped with breakouts in between. He even used it in his beard and around his ears. Looking at his redness his skin is about to go crazy. I recommend the line
I’ve never watched a man’s haircut/style session before. This was fascinating, thank you, and a real work of art!🎉. Mr Client looks even more handsome with his new look.
Nice job!! I’m a barber! I learned from my dad he was a master barber and most people don’t know how to do clippers over comb. I don’t use guards at all. My dad made me learn the old fashioned way. Haha I’m glad though. We do lots military haircuts.
From what I've seen so far, locs are one of these hairstyles that are perceived low maintenance but actually require a lot of care if you don't want to end up with scalp issues
Now who would have thought that this would be interesting for me. Just was curious to see what you were about. Totally transfixed with your work. That guy left your shop looking like a million bucks. You have a new subscriber.😊
Very nice job. He must feel so good after that. I don't know if you mentioned it, but he has more than dry scalp. He has a bit of mild psoriasis. There are products he can use that will help him manage it and keep it from getting worse.
Awesome transformation. He should keep his hair short with his scalp condition. A good dermatologist should be able to figure out what's going on and prescribe something to treat it.
Damn good transformation. He’s definitely gonna have a much healthier scalp and then if he wants to do dreads again he will have a good canvas to work on. Plus if he maybe has the dreads done a bit different then his scalp can continue to remain healthy if possible. Looks amazing.
Wow! He looks amazing. You did an excellent job! Thanks for showing your technique and how you help them decide what would look better on them, most don't do that.
I use a medicated antifungal shampoo and conditioner for this issue and im a girl with long microlocs. His scalp is so inflamed😭. Cut is nice but whew!
Now that is completely different man. Looks fresh. You could tell he was really happy he did it to. I love me some dreads, but I think this was a nice change for him....
You are such an awesome guy! Your technical skills, informative content, and voice are absolutely fantastic. This is my first time viewing your channel, but it won't be my last. Kudos for the total package. Many blessings, and thanks for sharing your incredible talent. To the client, your transformation is great. Hopefully, you can get some relief from your condition . Namaste
I have psorasis. It’s painful at times. It’s so annoying and my scalp is bad. I wonder if he has that. All I do is scratch. Yes I go to dermatologist. In my ears to. Great idea to cut his hair. Soooo much better. Good job!!
...your voice is so soothing! You spent such time, care and effort on your client and he looked great at the end. Whether he needed it or not - his confidence was boosted 💯 after leaving your chair. Fantastic job
Oh wow! I was just saying that I would love to bring my grandsons to you, then I noticed "Philadelphia!!!". If you are in or near Philly, I would love to bring my boys to you. I like your style. You are a real professional! I've had too many bad experiences with getting my grandsons' hair cuts. I will definitely look you up. Thank you for being a professional and also caring barber. 🥰 PS: I did subscribe AND like. 😊
Dermatologist. There are various issues going on w his scalp. What's the tool cleaning process? Blue stuff? Hell of a transformation! You have him looking like a new person! Very nice look ❤
Yes I ended up with a bad case of excema on my scalp and I cut my hair all off kinda of like this guy but not styled like this as he is a man and I am a woman. Could put the cream on as directed by a dermatologist and got it healed up and hair grew back and it was good to go.
@@tmiller9197 I think myself it could be eczema . I saw his forehead and he had marks like he might have some eczema He should have seen a doctor maybe a dermatologist before taking all his hair off. But I know I took all my hair off because I had a bad case of eczema one time to just get the cream on properly . The dermatologist didn’t tell me to cut it but I did, Eczema can get infected but hard to say when we don’t get to see his scalp directly.
