I live in the same town as these dudes, and occasionally smoke a cigarette with Adam outside of one of our local bars. He is a very awesome dude, and overall the band is made up of pretty cool dudes.
I've loved this band since I Am Hollywood, and i think Suck out the Poison and It Hates You are two of the best rock albums of 'my generation'. that being said...the sign that said "suck out the pro-tools" made me lawl
This band is for real amazing. I've loved them for years. It doesn't matter what style they play. They can do any style and make it sound AMAZING! If they were to do a rap song it would be fucking amazing lol. This band will forever be one of my all time favorites!
He Is Lengend and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster are all that we listened to in middle/high school. To quote my buddy "Pure 100% grade A southern ass metal"
been listening to them for years now. Awesome band. Way better than some of the garbage hardcore shit you hear these days. Of course bands like Killswitch Engage, ABR, AILD, All that Remains, etc. are good
AlexAttack903 every time I die, maylene and the sons of disaster, holly springs disaster not sure if their still together but they had some cool stuff, monster truck got a little southern sound to them
Great to see someone that still remembers Holy Springs. Literally just got Motion Sickness Love on vinyl. been looking for it for years. Favourite band of all time!
@hannuh1609 ? it makes perfect sense to not like new stuff when it comes out. You start liking a band for a certain album that you can connect with both by lyrics and music feel. if they change that going on to another album and you don't agree, what's wrong with not liking the new stuff? it's like anything else.
Jeez scene kids. Yes, IAH and SOTP are very different albums, but they are both overflowing with SOUL! I love them both. Long live HIL and I look forward to their 2012 album.
2:49 I need to meet the hypothetical person who went to a HiL protest and though professing NC's love for Dave Grohl was the biggest slam they could come up with.
Love these guys. Brings back memories of their concerts. Me and my buddies drove all the way to Grand Rapids to see them open up for From First to Last. Then we just hung out with the band afterwards. Awesome dudes.
i fucking love this band, and hate that i can't figure out why the hell aren't they more famous, please can someone give me a logical reason to why they are not more famous than what they are?
"Suck out the Pro-tools" Hahaha, very 2000s. I remember so many people thinking Pro Tools was some kind of magic DAW that could make anything sound good.
some of the members are Christian, but the purpose of the band as a whole isn't about spreading Christianity. the idea that He Is Legend is a "Christian band" is widespread, coming from their initial signing with Solid State Records. not all of SSR bands are Christian, but the vast majority and most well known ones are, causing many people to see them as a Christian record company.
@NickEvansMusic No Protest the Hero is not like He Is Legend. They are completely different. The only two bands comparable to HIL is Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and Once Nothing. Two very great southern metal bands. I am not dissing Protest bc they ARE one of my fav bands. All the bands I just listed I listen to daily and highly recommend.
............this band should just switch to metal.............they definitely have the ability......it sounds like a metal band trying to be alternative........continue to let the guitars shred but sing normal.....screechy stuff is being played out everywhere.........
at first you'll thought this album sucks, but if you heard the screams are much better, although the songs were a far cry from "I Am Hollywood" Suck out the Poison is a whole new experience itself..
@Underoathkid22 it has everything to do with it... Comparing He Is Legend to Underoath, is like comparing Fruit Loops to Rice Puffs... Nobody wants to eat rice puffs, Fruit Loops are the shit.
i'm pretty pissed that the old fans hate the new stuff. what kind of fan are you if you don't like it through the thick and the thin? not much of one if you're only on it for the bandwagon. thatisall.
"It Hates You" is a fantastic Album too. And, there newest Single "Something Witchy" is great. They are an extremely talented group of dudes. They have a new Album coming soon. Or, hopefully soon, from what i've seen from Schuylar on his Twitter, they've finished recording.
Because when the album dropped, all the kids who came for the metalcore were pissed when they shifted towards more heavy southern metal and less hardcore styling.
man I remember seeing these guys at Purple Door festival in PA in like 2004 or 2005 and thinking they did not fit with that crowd. They were on a different level.
I mean, a bit. But his singing is really great, and I like that they shifted styles to match his his limited screaming capacity. I think this album was their strongest.
