Professional sports is like any other business. If people aren't buying tickets then it will fail. Has the WNBA ever turned a profit? I kind of doubt it. If it was any other sport it would have been canceled a long time ago.

Mike Texas, it's all about performance level: we want to see athletes at the highest level and are willing to pay for watching them play. It's widely known that the top women's soccer teams such as the US and Australian national teams got trashed by under-15 schoolboys. We would not want to watch schoolboys playing soccer, much less paying for the privilege to do so, then it follows that we have no interest in watching a performance level even lower than that. While Serena Williams is often deified, I do not share the enthusiasm. She was praised for making women's Wimbledon champion making the same prize money as men's champion, and yet women still play best of three against men's best of five, and at a much lower performance level which brought only a fraction of revenue in ticket sales: in fact, getting less-capable women to earn more for less work. Never believe she's for the good of her fellow women: how she treated Naomi Osaka can only be described as shameful.

His facial expressions when he uses a different voice for the men pretending to be clueless, that's the best part of the act. He has a gift doing that. BTW, Subway franchises world wide demanded they stop airing the Megan Rapinoe commercial. Sales world wide plummeted just after it's airing. Same with Victoria Secret when they hired her. OMG, if you were in an American bar watching Team USA woman's soccer, everyone cheered when they gave up a goal. It was deafening when they lost the game. It's the only time I can think of where Americans wanted to see Team USA lose.

In fact, the U.S. Women's Soccer team were offered the same contract that the Men were offered. The Men's Contract had no bennies like maternity leave, medical insurance, dental insurance and a host of other bennies that the Women's contract had. The Women's contract was an upfront deal which had few, in any, payouts for winning. Merely making the team meant they got paid. The Men's contract had no benefits, no up front money, and was nearly 100% performance based. The Men ended up making more money. The Women's team sued. Not to get the Men's contract, mind you, but to get the Men's contract AND keep theirs. Picture if you will, a bouncer grabbing a drunk by the seat of his pants and his shirt collar, and tossing him out of a bar head first. Essentially, that's what a federal judge did to the Women and their lawsuit.

There's a version of this particular video on RU-vid that has a three-way split screen that shows the woman reacting, Burr's monologue at Red Rock, and a compilation from WNBA games that shows 10 minutes worth of air balls after air balls, multiple turn overs, all on one possession, missed layups, two women wrestling and grunting on the floor fighting for a loose ball, mishandled rebounds, and air ball free throws. It's to highlight Burr's point that women's basketball,even professional, is excruciatingly boring and low scoring!

I love Bill. A lot of people imagine that he's a conservative due to his takes on supposed political correctness. He's just a rational guy - which means he's definitely not a right winger lol. Much like George Carlin, another notable leftist. "Burr voted for Green Party candidate Ralph Nader in the 2000 United States presidential election. To the host, Yes you are correct. Lisa Leslie was one of the original WNBA players. Yes, the Los Angeles Sparks and the New York Liberty are two of the 3 original teams that is still playing. The Phoenix Mercury is the third original team that is currently playing. The team that won the first 4 championships, the Houston Comets folded. The very first WNBA to have her jersey retired was the late Kim Perrott #10 of the Houston Comets who died in 1999.

Like chappelle said, if they are equal and women can do anything men can...play in nba...why is there wnba is equal...get paid as a nba player...but I bet wnba players can't make it even to g-league Male and women are simply different. In some sports, even men has to compete in different weight... Life is not fair and not everything is equal even with same gender. if everythings are equal and I can do anything, and who I want to be why am I not a billionare yet. But men's has their strengths and women's has their strengths. And even with same gender we are all different in many things so therefore different wages. If you don’t picture the way bill burr talks when you hear the audio it doesn’t mean you aren’t a bill burr fan, it just means you probably aren’t super high on the empathy trait, which isn’t a bad thing, some empathy is great but too much or too little both have their problems. Generally speaking though people who like to watch reaction videos also correlates with higher empathy.

The WNBA have always shot themselves in the foot simply by not realising that they are on average nowhere near as tall as the men. They need to lower the damn basket so that can maybe try and make it actually entertaining to watch; this wouldn't solve the situation but it might help a bit.

Yeah, but just naming them doesn’t make the league or players any money…..do you watch the games, or go to the games, do you buy their jerseys….etc. I cracked up when he said WNBA teams have been playing in front of 300-400 fans a night for 25 years. There are more than that at a high school football game. The teams don’t make enough money to even pay for themselves, and in any other business that means they have been shut down years ago. But the NBA keeps giving them money to stay afloat.
