The somber music in that last massacre was fucking PERFECT! It really reflects how Jinwoo isn't fighting the hunters, this isn't an action scene, he doesn't WANT to kill them, he's being forced by their actions and "The System" to kill them or he will simply die. He isn't playing with them, torturing them, or mocking them, he is simply reacting to their actions. Even for a character like Jinwoo, who has been taught again and again and again that in the world of hunters, power is absolute, it's all that matters, he struggles at first with killing his fellow man, if they hadn't been such murderous douche-canoes he could never have done it, though of course, if they were just normal hunters he never would have received that Urgent Quest. It's bloody incredible character work and only a TASTE of what is coming down the road, good GOD I love when a show is faithful to a well written novel, you can really feel how focused the story is on exploring the character of Jinwoo as he experiences these horrors.

I was waiting for this to be animated and it didn't disappoint. The studio animating this really did their homework and put so much love to it. I can't wait for future episodes.

Manwha-wise we’re at ch 24, with one more event before “that” iconic turn of events. So another 2 ep arc, before we get to the real beginnings.

I liken the final kill to the death of the cannibal leader in Walking Dead. Dude was pleading for mercy, trying to bargain his way out, then got snuffed anyways. Responding to "we will never cross paths again, I promise you" Rick said "you'll cross SOMEONE'S path. You'd do this to anyone, right?" I think that applies here too. Regardless of the system telling Jinwoo to follow through to the end, this guy was likely going to continue betraying others and getting more people killed. By stopping him here, Jinwoo probably saved many other lives.

Fun fact Jinho calls Jin Woo "Jin Woo-aniki" (esteemed older brother) but in the manhwa he called Jin Woo "Jin Woo-hyung" which in Korean would be close to elder brother (with respect). They could have gone with "senpai" which would have worked just the same but I think "aniki" was the right choice for the replacement. Ive always contextuallized Jin Woo's letter rank as changing in increments of 5. As in, every rank is +5 to the previous level. So E rank is level 1-5. D rank consists of 10 levels because 5+5, so it covers levels 6-15. C rank is 15 levels, so it covers 16-30. B rank is 20 levels, so it's 31-50. A rank is 25 levels, so it covers 51-75. S rank is anything past that.

Unstable him is hot for sure. And, he wasn't born unstable or anything. Society mistreated him and hurt our poor bean just enough that some cracks show from time to time. And then he reminds us he's a good bean by thinking of his sister when it rains.

did a quick search, the song from the scene is "DARK ARIA (LV2)" its pretty good but damn did it lend weight to the scene like holy shit.

That one scene single handledly made this my favorite episode. A1 still pops off, with how badass the glow effects were in SAO it makes me hyped for what’s to come. Also the ost during that scene is “Dark Aria ” by Sawano Hiroyuki (nZk) (feat. XAI)

Possessing 2 skills (taunt and reinforcement), Hwang Dongsuk must be a high C-rank, but Jinwoo lays him flat!

I love how Alicia is simping hard for this early alpha version of my boy, he doesn't even have his iconic ability and phrase yet. Also Sawano cooks with the ost so far I was very excited to see man behind SnK ost on SL announcement.

Song is so peak, it shouldn't work, but god is it peak :3 I adore the Aizen smack to the face moment. Also, the counter rolling to 1/6 is so damn cold, it made me laugh :3

The research that Jinwoo does in the light novel says that the process of a second awakening is different from what's happening to Jinwoo. Others do research later and come to the same conclusion: they don't level up, the way Jinwoo does.

Alicia is absolutely hilarious to me, because on one hand, I don't know of a streamer who is more empathetic, understanding, and just generally on it with mental health awareness than her... But on the other hand, sometimes she starts her videos with her chanting for a mass murder, which is generally inconsistent with what I just mentioned, but somehow still perfectly fits her personality.

As a non-reader of the manwha, when I saw Jinwoo's aura I really thought this was gonna be the episode when he said *THE THING*, but what actually happened was amazing regardless

I know Alicia was really, really hyped on the PK aspect of this episode but I can't help but want to point out one tiny little detail. Those aholes he killed. They are NOT players. They're just hunters. Just normal everyday NPCs. ....... food for thought. Also I love the way they protrayed Jinwoo's coming to terms with killing in this episode. It's even better than the webcomic. This is webcomic to anime done right.

Btw, it doesnt really explain it that in-depth in the anime, but Agility doesnt actually make him faster like you would think based on regular games and stuff. Strength increases his muscles, which increases his power and therefore also his speed. He did some testing to figure that out, but when he leveled up in the instance dungeon and got his 1st boost to Agility, what he learned was that Agility allowed him to process things faster, so the higher his agility, the slower his enemies look from his POV. So his Strength allows him to attack and move fast, but his Agility allows him to notice an attack coming so that he can dodge or counter

What's crazy is the system doesn't even tell him explicitly to kill the hunters. It says they mean to kill *him* but his objective is to *defeat* them. Could he have gotten away with just KOing them as long as they were incapacitated? We won't know, he just went on that demon timing just to take 0 chances with their stupid asses and we love him for it.

There aren't many episodes of anime where its left on a cliff hanger with a big fight coming up in the next episode where i sit around for a week just waiting to see this boss fight, it plays out really well but then its eclipsed by an even more badass moment after the fight.
