I'm a little surprised at the following: 1. No Skeletor or Evil- Lyn. 2. You fight Trap- Jaw before Spikor. Considering that Spikor is pretty much always portrayed as Skeletor's stupidest and most incompetent henchman and Trap- Jaw tends to be portrayed as at least decently competent as far as Skeletor's henchmen go, I'd have expected the order in which you fight the two of them to be reversed.
Yep He-Man, Thundercats, Silverhawks so many great franchises that would lend themselves perfectly to videos games but never got one. Well, He-man got one on GBA but it was based on the 03 series and it sucked.
There was a He Man game for Atari 2600 and Intellivision. The series would have been great for a game on the Atari ST and Amiga - with their superior graphics and sound - but the cartoon was finished by the time the ST and Amiga shipped in volume in 1985. There was a Thundercats game for the ST and Amiga though.
They seem to have traced a lot of it from the animation! Which did actually move fairly smoothly. What they did was repeat a lot of actions, which isn't so different from a game, if you think about it.
X-Men beat'em up was definitely the base. He-Man punches like Colossus. The armored goons move just like the sentinels. I wouldn't be surprised if there is inspiration from the Avengers beat'em up.
It's really cool how this game uses the original backgrounds, music and sound effects. Filmation backgrounds were some of the best in the business and still don't get enough love!
Great adaptation! Seems photoshopped right from the series. (As if most of these enemies could take more than one punch by He Man or She Ra, who can lift entire buildings...!)
