As a white person, i was unironically so jealous of my best friend when he would bring in these elaborate Asian lunches. It makes my stomach rumble just thinking about it
Right! That's what would really happen, the kids would want to try the Chinese food! But no, the leftist filmmakers have got to portray white people in a negative light once again. I'm so sick of the racism.
That's how we get veggies in Asian local market sometime people give you free of cost ...bcoz u nice to them and buy every time from them so they are kind and give u some veggies free ...it's common practice in many asian culture
Back in Elementary, I would always be embarrassed to eat my lunch because it was all Asian food compared to every other kid with their Lunchables, sandwiches, or whatever. However, thinking back now that I’m older, I’m very grateful that I actually had full on meals rather than what other kids got. Haha
My mom used to pack me a lot of mediterranean food for school despite growing up on typical "white" food (we are not American though nor living there). Later on after getting into college I used to make myself fried rice and Japchae all the time because of how filling it was. Just recently discovered my love for Korean style egg soup as a late night snack^^ food and different food cultures are just amazing!
@@unbentsign7194 As a kid who grew up in Asia, NO🤣 I hate traditional market, rats and cockroaches, people yelling and pushing you, can't even take a good look at the veggies I picked. But different asia countries' markets are different, I moved to another one and the traditional markets there is good, The people are nice and polite, the place is clean and gave me a whole new experience with shopping in traditional markets🤭❤️But shopping with hygienic boxed / packaged food in a air-con supermarket is the best, for me 🤣
i have an asian bestie at uni. i swear all of us at lunch would kill for his food. but these were other times and its honestly sad to see. asian culture and food are incredible
As an American I would love to see what the Japanese people eat I know other countries encompass Asia but it's more for the experience. If you don't end up liking it you simply can say you tried it and didn't like it and that's the expectation I would want to see an Asian trying our food after all some of our food is nasty to our own tastes as everyone's diffrent .he's just feeling the affect of being different because kids are more more openly judgemental

Yeah while most Americans think sweet and sour, a lot of times Asian food involves fish sauce in the flavor profile along with vegetables that are more on the bitter side than American’s sweet tooth
"why are u so American that's so American" that sounds like uncle Roger Edit: damn i just commented this 6 days and i am the top comment now and thanks for the likes
For those that don’t know, it’s a show called “fresh off the boat” on Hulu. It’s loosely based on the life of Eddie Huang, American chef, food personality, writer, and attorney.
"Ew why do they smell nasty?" "It's called FLAVOUR" *I meant the white kid was probably smelling flavour for the first time and thought it was nasty when it wasn't
@@Kurotama11americans should learn to accept people from all parts of the world if they say that they're a melting point of the world. Every lunch cannot be hamburger or sandwich. For them every asian smell still they want to try asian food at restaurants.
@@sujalGhorse-xh8bs I agree. And with that acceptance, should come understanding of reality and consideration for others. I wasn’t trying to say what’s going on in the video is right….just that some food *does reek* and If something stinks, you shouldn’t subject other people to it These kids are clearly just picking on something weird they’ve never seen before….worst smell in that dish is probably some garlic, and I’d bet they’d get hype for that if it were spaghetti Tuesday
Nah Americans tend to like Americanized Chinese food which has a sweeter profile also Americans tend to hate veggies while that’s a big thing in Chinese cuisine
@@zeldaweeb1738 Americans are good at ruining the traditional dishes of other cultures. As an Italian, every time I see those horrors they call "Italian cuisine" I feel violated.
ok im korean but i live in the united states and that was not racist. white ppl got some rlly good food especially the italians but that store just looked really depressing
As an Asian person I experienced racism a lot from my whiter friends and it was really terrible School wasn’t my favorite place But they just made it worse and worse I wish the best for all the kind people Be kind❤
Lol, same. There was this one girl in my class who just ate yogurt and chips for lunch, and Kraft Mac n Cheese for dinner. When she told me I was like, "THATS UR DINNER??" But, yh I agree. Honestly, I wanna know what a white people dinner is. Idk because I'm Chinese American and i eat Chinese dishes lol 😅
Ikr like there spic level salt level in there food be like: 📉📉📉📉📉📉📉📉📉📉📉📉 Ours would be like: 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈 I prefer Asian plus like sometimes my mom will make dumplings and the next day at school everyone will be for real begging for some dumplings at least my friends!
As an Aussie who lived with Asians for 4 years at university- I’m the same lol- when I first iced back home, felt weird not having rice every day etc- and even though it’s been nearly 15 years- I still eat mainly Asian food (Chinese, Thai, Korean and some Japanese too!) 🤷♀️
I know that feeling so fucking well. My japanese mom made sushi for me to eat at lunch once. She spent so much time for it and woke up extra early that day. She proudly gave me the lunchbox and when i got home she asked me how it tasted. I told her i didn‘t eat any of it because everybody told me it looks weird and shit when in reality i wanted to eat it so bad. At that time i was around 9 years old. Thank you mom!
A lot of us were made to believe our ethnic food was smelly and bad but when i grew up i realized how blessed were we to have ethnic food with so many spices and flavours x ❤
As a Mexican that happened to me once and the next time my mom sent me a bag full of crickets 🦗 and told me to eat it with out explaining it to nobody, 5 minutes later I was in the middle of the room with everyone asking if they could eat it too 😂
Honestly, every ethnicity has food that smells 'bad'. But........? Like so.... honestly PB smells bad to me on a bad day and that's not half as tasty as butter chicken or a whole host of other Chinese, Indian, and Mexican cuisine. So stupid. Never understood this....
The "everything fits inside a box perfectly" is so American comment is true for non americans living in USA. Especially the kids because they want to make friends and the easier way to do that without getting bullied or some shit, is by fitting everything inside a box and by that i mean the nonamerican culture they have in the box.
It's weird. As a kid the big thing teachers and media pushed was the "melting pot" narrative, where all cultures are welcomed and mix in with the others. But it always felt like rather than take the different cultures and add them into the metaphorical pot, it was more like taking a small shaving of those culturrs and sprinkling it into the pot full of the predominant (white) culture. Only certain things and a heavily sanitized version. I think things have definitely changed though since I was a kid, the post 9/11 "with us or against us" stuff of the early 2000s and more recent pushes for a return to "tradition" where those other cultures are forcibly pushed out , that whole thing.
Hmm but sacrificing your own identity to gain a friendship is worse thing a parent will teach a kid . Bullying or discrimination should be fought against and educate people around you about your culture. Not changing ur own self Unfortunately Indian won’t look white how hard anyone try That generic structure will never change like accents do , like religions do like clothes and maybe food do But still brown skin black hair will be evident What would be next choice A surgery??
It’s a great example of that trend on TikTok: “what is trashy if you’re poor and cool if you’re rich? Speaking multiple languages” immigrants are belittled in American culture and told to assimilate until they produce something that is useful to Americans. Then they are temporarily celebrated until they are put back on that shelf of “not American” again when the hype dies down.
I don’t know what you’re talking about 💀 you’re talking about Amerima cuz America ain’t that way buddy 💀 (at least in Texas and Florida since I visited Florida and I live in Texas)
@@vouryj9556I remember my friend who's from the states telling me they did bullied an indian girl to the point she cried for bringing lunch her mom cooked for her
This is a real truth. I went to a school where white people were the minority . I love all cultures, races and food. I’m the first person to remind others that race isn’t a factor . People are assholes no matter where there were born😂😂😂😂 hahahahha
@@robertromero8094 litterally. Only way to find good music or good movies is organically outside algorithms. But oh big there is amazing stuff happening outside of mainstream that I'm super excited for
This film is the exact opposite of my school bro, the white kids be drooling looking at the Asians kids food and I’m the Brazilian one sitting with the whole soccer group lol
As a white person, I still remember the day that my best friend at the time called my lunch gross and smelly, and I think that’s where my phobia of eating food in front of other people began. I slowly stopped eating at school since that day, and by the time I was in seventh, eighth, and high school grades I didn’t eat at school at all.
That sounds like an eating disorder, not racism towards cultural food. It’s okay to not always relate everything back to you, I understand the want but you need to hold back sometimes.
Thats so american, why are you so american? Because they life in Amerika Rn? ._. Integration is a good thing people who don’t wanna intigrate in Germany should to Home again if they don’t Like our way to life ( how to work or life together) What you do in your Home or free time i don’t care but i do Care at work.
Ngl i dont understand american cafeterias, they always say other food is so disgusting but all they eat for lunch is a tiny sugary sandwich. *REAL* food is that chinese food that his mom packed him.
I find american kids are extremely picky eaters. I guess in this day and age, you wont find many kids that dont eat asian food, especially in cities. But in white suburbs, they either eat super clean like raw fresh stuff or fried stuff like chicken tenders and hamburgers only. Put a nicely prepped vegetable, theyd think ewwww. And then a somewhat understandable confusion to think those curry type mushy foods look like literal crap to them. Unappealing. And then you got those kids that dont like their foods touching. I saw most kids literally only pack sandwiches for lunch. I love my soups!
From this comment it doesn't sound like you grew up in America? No, they don't eat sugary sandwiches??? The cafeteria did what it could with the resources provided. Every school is different. My school growing up had more options than most places and no, it wasn't sandwiches everyday. pizzas, pasta bowls, chicken, there was always access to PB and J for those who enjoyed them, soups, etc. There's nothing stopping you from packing your kid a lunch either. I'd recommend probably doing some more research to better educate yourself!
Because most schools are underfunded and don't get lots of fancy smancy cafeteria stuff like that person. Me personally I never got fancy food since I went to a public school and most of it was slightly frozen but when my sister was in high school she got tons of good options and you never really needed to pack home lunch unless you had a severe deathly allergy @@mathewadams8499
Unfortunately, many kids in school make others feel unwelcome due to various factors such as different hair, skin, or food. This needs to stop. Be proud of who you are and embrace your uniqueness.
This happened to me when I brought Mexican food to American school cafeteria. I had arroz (rice), frijoles (fry beans), pozole, & lots of tortillas de maíz. Everyone hated the smell & said it looks like blood. I wanted to get lunchables to fit in but I hated how flavorless they tasted. I sat with the Mexican kids after getting use to being in a new country & we all had something different like tacos, tamales, enchiladas, etc. White kids can be so mean & racist, but being in a community that understands you & shares culture is a blessing.
@@akinahokino2580 I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t like Arroz, Frijoles, pozole, and tortillas de maíz. I know lots of people who’ve been to Mexico and like the food there.
As a white kid I was only ever bullied by Mexican and black kids. And most ended up dead or in prison now LOL. Lunchables are so tasty idk what off brand generic you had that wasn't tasty LOL I still get lunchables as a grown man when they're on sale.
It happened to me the same when I moved to Ireland! I'm Spanish and they, with no food knowledge, no food culture and no gastronomy background, thought that MY lovely homemade food looked disgusting. Ignorance is brave! You know what is disgusting?, the porridge they have for breakfast along with the canned beans with artificial tomato sauce. 🤮 just the thought of it turns my stomach!
This is why I loved growing up near New Orleans! We don’t give a shit about anything besides if it tastes good. We have a large Vietnamese community too so kids would be bringing in pate and bhan mi and everyone was like “WTF is that it looks delicious”
I am Japanese, but I had this very same experience in London when I was 6 years old. They laughed at my onigiri as a vomit ball and threw it in the trash.
That's ironic because KFC and Burger are getting effort in Asia. stop glorifying white food, it's just junk food. Without a lot of oil and the coke gimmick of sugar and salt which is very addictive. More dangerous than MSG syndrome
I'm Algerian and I really looove the asian culture, all of it: architecture, food, traditional clothes, the good habits they have, they are polite, respectful....... They are amazing. I will be happy to have friends from Asia. And in islam their is no different between white, dark, red, yellow.... People, we are all human beings, we are equal.
In Islam, Racism is the worst thing. People are art ,and Allah is artist. Whoever makes fun of someone bcz of his/her colour is making fun of Allah. So, we avoid being racist.
As an Indian I can tell you our lunch break is absolutely the favourite part of our school time. India is so diverse, that everyone's lunch is completely different and we share them happily. On one side I will be eating north-indian food, then south Indian food, then some noodles, some varieties of roti sabji, then some snacks, even sometimes sweet like cake or mithai, etc (Especially if you have studied in Kendriya vidyalaya - people from all over the country are there in your class 😂😁). So We asians are too vibrant and zestful for life to be able to enjoy white people food. Spice flavours taste colour is life 😌😁😍🙌.
Black person here I had other blacks people claim my tacos smelled terrible but it was clearly because they had an issue with me. Who doesn’t like Chicken tacos from a Mexican restaurant? Some people will just give you grief to give you grief and for no other reason.
