These factories in Asia have invested in much of the same equipment that Swiss factories use for luxury watches. You're really paying for the craftsmanship and exclusivity. But yes they can all be cloned with high accuracy by minimum wage Chinese workers.

As someone who buys fake watches for his own personal collection, I would never take my shit to a shop. They know it’s fake but they’ll never tell you cause their business is to make people feel good. They don’t wanna deal with all that drama anyway

There are fake Seikos and fake G Shocks. I saw a fake Casioak on my local marketplace last week. The key no matter what the price point is to be informed, practice due diligence, buy the seller, ask questions.

@@notDonaldFagen Obviously there are fake everything, what I meant was the more expensive items tend to be faked more often and more effort is put into making them look genuine. I think it's important to understand the seller and where you buy your item ie very cheap off a market at way below rrp price, it's more than likely going to be a fake. I always buy my watches from recommended retailers, high street brand names I can trust and have some comeback if I'm scammed. By the way a fake casio is easy to spot, they put way less effort into making them, the quality is clearly substandard and the item looks and feels like something out of a Christmas cracker. Plus the second hand market is flooded with fakes. A genuine casio feels like a quality product with a very good finish to a high standard.

The difference between a fake casio and a fake rolex are poles apart, the fake casio will be far inferior and much easier to spot because way less work is put into making it authentic looking as the price point and therefore profit potential is much less. I've handled a fake casio and it was so clearly fake, even the packaging and box was easy to tell it wasn't right. On the other hand a fake rolex can be so close to authentic even some watch 'experts' will struggle to tell them apart. I'm not talking the £40 fake rolex that comes in cellophane wrapping and weighs less than a casio and has a quartz movement, I'm talking about the 'premium' quality copies that look and feel like the real deal.

@Marcel Rodriguez Why spend 1k on a watch that is fake instead of buying a real $1000 watch? You are supporting companies that make knockoffs and trying to be something you are not. There is a big difference between your fathers watch and a fake watch you just bought as there is sentimental value. I don't think people use watches every day to tell time, but more as jewelry or art. If you wanted a watch that will get you the most use, you would get a smart watch, which is much cheaper.

No product costs as much to make as what it sells for.

there are material diffarances and such to but yeah nowhere near to justify the price. non of the top brand of watches has a justified price.
