you worked your soil when it was too wet, that why it so clumpy and lumpy . you compressed the soil stuff going to have a hard time growing as you turned it to cement . when the soil dry worked until the the lumps break apart and becomes sugary - then avoid working when it wet .. easiest way to tell it not too wet roll it in your hand it form a worm way too wet if it crumbles then it suitable for working. for new ground you should of worked last year in the fall even if it wet the frost would break it part or work it when there still frost in the ground in the spring and you have regular freeze thaw cycle. it will do the work for you

Basic questions were not answered such as: Can anyone get a plot and grow things or is it only for employees & volunteers? What happens to the produce? Is it sold or donated?

Here are some answers from the producer: The land at Downsview Park is for farmers who are part of the collective that Fresh City operates. Some of the growers run programs where members of the public can join in to learn more about farming. There will be a farmer’s market at the park once the harvest is ready. Fresh City will also distribute to customers in their produce boxes. Thanks for asking! ^nc
