@@MikhailFederov Alright, so what's a story you felt was better off without it? Because anything you can think of probably uses this idea to some extent. Comedians can get away with not playing into this because it's not entirely necessary, It's as simple as repetition gets laughs. But when it comes to any serious story, motifs are scattered everywhere because the meaning changes as the story goes. Again, it's not about the intelligence of the viewer, it's because if you don't play into this it's likely to turn into a rambling mess.

@Geoff Speedie ***SPOILER ALERT!*** Earlier in his set, he talks about this one time he was pitching a movie idea to a couple of blokes in the movie industry. His movie was about this bloke who was a Superhero but the only way he could get or maintain his superhero powers was to touch a woman’s pussy. So you could imagine when this superhero needed his powers he would ask women if he could touch their pussies, even a slight pat as he would put it but obviously this doesn’t sit right for any women so they refuse his demands, so then he proceeds to rape them. Dave summed the movie up with the quote “He rapes but he saves, he saves more than he rapes....”. Which is the same punchline he uses here to conclude his Bill Cosby joke and his show. Hope that helps anyone that hasn’t seen it. Also, if you love comedy I highly recommend you check out all his Netflix specials.

@Geoff Speedie No he’s basically referring to all the black people that Bill Cosby inspired, like himself. Also the huge part Bill Cosby had in fighting for equal and civil rights. He’s not exactly saving “A” person per say, but essentially saving the rights and freedoms of Black Americans.
