The best part of this is how Eury still cares for Ody (calls him Ody/friend) even after their fight, and after Ody made him unknowingly pick 6 men to die (including himself). Everyone’s so worn down and I just feel bad for the whole cast tbh
Thank you for your reaction! I really loved it! And yeah I drew Apollo as the god of the sun but apparently, it is supposed to be Helios (It was my mistake. I did not remember that Helios also had cows) And I am planning on making the thunder bringer also!
I'm glad to hear you liked it! I mean it's an understandable mistake, and it's also possible that jay is trying to keep it vague by only using "god of the sun" since apollo appears in a later song, so for all we know in epic it could canonically be apollo
@@DarthEdgyBoy I'm pretty sure that it was directly conformed by Jorge that it actually was Helios in the livestream, and it does make sense, as it was Helios in the actual Odyssey, and iirc Apollo being in God Games doesn't necessarily mean anything, since if it did then Poseidon, Aeolus, Circe, Hermes too would've had to be present for it to coincide with the fact that the gods mentioned are relating to things Ody did, and in my personal opinion, I have no clue what hephestous is doing in it lol

I think it was *supposed* to be Helios, because chronologically, at that point in history, Apollo wasn't considered the sun god yet. He and Artemist got the sun & moon connotations much later after Rome absorbed the greek gods and stuff. But the syncretism here can be done really smoothly, since both Helios and Apollo had their own sacred cows, so it really doesn't make much difference in the end.
@@DarthEdgyBoy Yeah, from what I heard Apollo will be one of the gods in the "God Games" song, so I'm curious whether he'll be the offended sun god in this adaptation, or simply show up as the god of the muses.
My absolute favorite part of this animatic is that Ody is actively cutting through his restraints, and is just trying to stall, with a smiling and pleading, it works better than a sudden "he unties himself" imo. Also, great observation with yhe Helios/Appollo point- in the original myth, it is Helios's island, but.. [*extremely* minor spoiler warning (and i mean MINOR minor) but this is just in case] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Appollo is namedropped in a later song so people assume Jorge is using Appollo instead of Helios in this version of the pantheon.
Yeah i noticed that detail in post, it's a really nice addition, i actually hadn't considered how he got free before that, but thinking about it, this is a good way of solving it It's probably simpler to use apollo yes because of God games, but i mean apollo was still around before he was a sun god, he was just medicine, archery, music, civilization and stuff like that. But you're prolly right about it being apollo, or with the consistant use of just "the sun god" it could be he's just leaving it open to interpertation
