What I liked about this part is how the entire flock didn't question why three child-aged ground species of mammals appeared out of nowhere. They instead welcomed them into the church to proceed Bosworth's devastating fate until Edgar spoke up.
This movie might have been one that taught it to me. Religion: Let's pray. Well that didn't work, we did our best. Science: Let's actually do something to fix the problem.
That’s a very polarized way of looking at things. I mean, it’s not as though science doesn’t make mistakes, and religion is all about being dismissive, and dismissively throwing problems to the hands of the Almighty. In the context of this movie, the birds in this flock were not accustomed to being innovative, and to solving their problems, not to mention that they lost their breeding grounds to the actions of humans, and that kind of grief makes most people give up hope and the desire to try.
I imagine Ronnie Anne, Sid, Sameer, Casey, and Nikki pulling Alexis free from the mud at 2:56 & 3:01. I threw Alexis in the mud to kill him, and he got stuck.
It’s not racist it’s appropriate, you can tell it’s an actual black congregation doing the song. Now imagine how boring this scene would be if it were a white congregation.
@@terdellmcentee What I'm saying is I'm black and I have been to black churches and white churches but I've never been to a black church (that actually had a choir) that didn't "act" and sing like this. It's not acting, it's culture. I'm not a religious person but if I ever got dragged along to church, and it was a black church, and the preaching and music wasn't like this I would NOT want to be there. As an adult, if I ever got dragged along to a white church I would just not want to be there period.
@@StochasticWolf I feel you MOST of the black churches i have attended acted kinda in this manner. But that doesn't mean ALL act this way, and if you put that in a kids movie that's one more generation that believes that sterotype... Is your favorite food fried chicken and watermelon??? Probably not but that a stereotype that has been passed down from who knows when. Please don't get me wrong im not trying to attack or come for you it was just my opinion and debate is my favorite subject.
holy fuck how did nobody working on this movie at any point go um guys this whole entire scene where 3 children explain to an entire community of black coded characters how to get a kid out of mud is just a touch.......extremely racist????
@@Demi-kj6sp The birds are black coded, they're literally performing what is considered african american funeral culture and they sing a church gospel song. These characters need three children to tell them how to get a child out of the mud. It's just cringey. idk how much more simple I can make it for you
