When I started watching this channel, the one thing I *NEVER* would have predicted was that Brad would become a Bjork superfan. This is the best possible outcome. lol

The giant smile on Brad's face the entire song is everything! I don't think he frowned once. lmao. This is the Bjork I was hoping you would get a chance to experience. Her music is a journey that is constantly morphing and evolving.

Bjork is indeed “ear candy” as Brad says. I’m usually in agreement with Lex. But I’m surprised that Brad got this one. I’ve been wondering what sort of music would speak to him. Is see now that he appreciates genius.

Like Kate Bush, Bjork is her own genre.

Bjork is an artist that didn't really accept any labels (even "avante garde"). She followed her bliss and let us follow along.

The thing about Bjork, (specifically the first 3 or 4 albums), is she would create all the loops and beats (mostly) on her own. She wasn't just a really unique singer with a magical voice, singing lyrics... she created the entire soundscapes from what she heard in her head, and filled them beyond capacity with emotion, honesty, passion, and a complete disregard for what anyone might think or say about her many "odd or strange" nuances, because to her, she was just being completely truthful and sincere to herself. Which is what the best artists should always aspire to be. Passion and honesty resonates.

I met Bjork before a concert of hers when she came up to me in line. She was a trip. Really nice and uninhibited.

I know how to get Lex to meet Brad in the middle. Go back to the days Bjork was the lead singer for a band called the Sugarcubes (1980's). Their music was more like pop but still had a lot of Bjork's quirky essence. So, take a listen to the following Sugarcubes songs: Motorcrash, Cold Sweat, Birthday, or Hit.

I like a lot of various types of music and songs, but there is just something about alternative female singers they just draws me in. I put a bunch of Bjork iron-on patches on a kind of expensive Ralph Lauren hoodie when I was a kid and my mom got mad. I have all her albums. She stars in a movie, “Dancer in the Dark” that is heartbreaking, She has a small role in the recently released film “The Northman.” She’s one of a kind for sure.

I'm a huge Bjork fan and Hyperballad is hands down my favorite of her songs. The first time I heard it, it immediately opened my world to electronic as a legit artistic expression. I had primarily been into rock, R&B, pop music before that, and after, it was like I was open and ready for everything. I can't say that any other song or even artist has opened my world the way that Bjork did.

Have seen Björk in 1997 with Mark Bell in a discotheque live. It was mesmerizing. Mark Bell from LFO was a giant of electronic music and techno. A time you still could just party with Bjórk. This song was also on the set, live!!! Was in good company, a night I won't forget ever!!!

When? For me, I listened to Bjork while I was in labor with my daughter. She was my ear medicine. She took me through the journey of child birth. Her power, vibrations, and the positivity of her genius guiding me through the experience. Just amazing. ♥️ Or on a walk 😂

He's right. She is one of the hardest vocalists to imitate for the reasons he says. Listen to others try to cover her. She's a pioneer in experimental electronica as well. You should check out a movie she did a long time ago called dancer in the dark. It's a drama/musical...I'm not big on musicals but it is a really good movie. Won some awards. Like her music the movie will move you as well. It helps show a little of why she's so special. EVERYTHING is music in her head. She can find rhythm's in anything like she can sing to the sound of a train going across a train track, a bunch of factory workers working, cooking in the kitchen, etc.. More than anything...She has the uncanny ability to make these gorgeous vocal lines that reach into your chest & into the depths of your soul. Love Bjork.

You need some Nordic Folk . You should react to Wardruna Helvegen (The road to Hell) feat Aurora or Skugge (shadow). If you want some crazy sounds Heilung - Krigsgaldr (war magic) or In Maidjan (to change deceitfully) I highly recommend these two as the live version in LIFA. These two bands use ancient handmade instruments as well as nature like fire, wood, bones (including human), skin drums, birds, and shields. There's also throat singing.

In my eyes, Bjork is the ultimate embodiment of a 'vocalist.' She has the chops to absolutely belt out with the best of them but she has and is still constantly experimenting in her vocal expression and how she can best get across an emotion through a song. It doesn't just stop with her vocals; the music surrounding them is consistently experimental yet fun to listen to. As far as vocalists go, I consider her the top tier of any I've yet heard.

Bjork is a very talented, pretty pixie with a great voice and dancer. Small lady, but she is also strong. Beat up some reporters/paparazzi at an airport one time about 20 years ago or so lol. She was with her son when they kept harassing her. They had to break up the fight.

When you understand how strange and violent and magical Icelandic mythology is, and how much it informs the Icelandic culture and a lot of her music in turn, you realize how intensely romantic the lyrics of the song are. Her style kind of matches Iceland in this weird way, where the music is sometimes rough, sometimes jagged, sometimes fire, sometimes ice. The trouble with talking about Bjork as a vocalist is that she's kinda in this rare class of her own where she's not even singing anymore, she's using her voice as an instrument. In some cases, literally. In fact, if you check out anything off the album Medulla, it'll blow your mind. Everything is a 'Capella, from instruments to vocals and noises and everything in between. She really pushed the boundaries of what can be accomplished with just voices working together on that album

Being a fan since her first album, I finally took the opportunity to see her perform live and it was as amazing as I always expected it to be.
