I saw the choir in Central Park, I was flabbergasted. A great choir with strong beliefs, and a great SOUND.
I didn't know Sonny when he sang R&B, but surfing utue I've had a chance to hear some of those songs. Great. I had a chance to see him & the choir in NYC's Central Park in concert and fell in love with both, and went of shopping spree 2 get everything I could by them. The man had a great voice, turned his life around and found his true calling. Thanks 4 viewing, and njoying.
verde210000, I was also a member of the ARC. Truly, Sonny was one of the great ones along with Conwell, Ira and a host of others. I didn't graduate, but because of J.A. and the teachings of the ARC, I have 20 years under my belt this year.
Thank you so much for posting this. As a fan of Gospel Music and a long time fan of Sonny Wright's work with The Diamonds and Metronomes, I was astonished to find this. For all the troubles he had, I can just feel how moved he must have been by his faith and how it restored and inspired his miraculous instrument. God Bless.
I’m miss Sonny, Carol, Bruce, Mr. Allen, EVEN “SHOES”. “2nd FLOOR of 1881” In the back room next to the rehearsal room. I was 10yrs Old when I met Sonny and ARC in 1991. THEY WERE MY MUSICAL INSPIRATION.
I used to have this album " Rise!: The Arc Gospel Choir Live In Concert" and someone took it from my house when I moved to SC in 1994. This a great group. I trying to get the " Last Mile", and "There is a land." I can't seem to find this album at all. Thanks for sharing these songs.
Thanks 4 viewing. Last Mile & There Is A Land are on the album, maybe I post em'. I did an internet search got a few results, (not sure if they actually have it in stock), but the prices they want 4 it, is through the ROOF.
A friend made me aware of this recording and Jesus Wash featuring the incomparable Sonny Wright of the Diamonds/Metronomes. I was absolutely blown away and went out and bought the CD. It's excellent from top to bottom and features a number of outstanding soloists.
If you could do that it would be greatly appreciative. It is a very rare find and when I did find it the price is $100.00+. Now that is a little too pricey for me. lol
Is there any way you could send me all the Arc Choir albums.. I can't find them anywhere. I bought Walk with me but all these other albums, I can't find.
