Sawdust works to insulate the concrete as well. Or a thick layer of straw. We did that on a ton of concrete we poured at our place this fall when it was below freezing.
Why not just call a vet and get it taken care of? You're already talking about sacrificing this good cow, that has given you so much. A vet will know what is wrong, and how it can be fixed.
