Andy and I are bouncing with excitement after finally finding a solution to our fuel tank troubles! Not only did we find a fitting for the fuel outlet, but we also got our welder-man and friend, Paul, to return to help us weld two bungs onto our fuel tank, which means it can be filled with fuel soon . . . and so our Cortez will move again!

✧ About us ✧
Hi, ya'll! I'm L, the writer behind Soul of a Seeker. By now you will have met my Englishman, Andy, who is also the illustrator of our stories. We met in search of a hiking and backpacking partner when he came to America for a six-month work placement. During those first talks all the way to now, we have focused on two dreams: Mine, to travel and his, to restore an old vehicle. Saying our dreams aloud somehow welded them together and that is when the idea of overhauling an old motorhome came to be. Here, we purchased a rare 1965 Clark Cortez -- the first motorhome in America with front-wheel drive. We are working to renovate it -- doing all the work ourselves -- before we hit the road! In the end, we are one American girl and one English bloke with one dog and one cat (which we call our ‘pup-kit’) and one 1965 Clark Cortez motorhome but together, we have one soul of a seeker.

Ey up everyone!! Did you enjoy our latest video and were you as happy as we are that our welder-man and friend Paul returned? We'd love to hear feedback on what you think! Andy (and L)

Making good progress, that return will come in handy later. For the EFI checkout Howell, it uses the GM TBI system that runs at lower pressure then a lot of newer EFI conversion that require a high pressure pump (and usually a fuel center). Plus it uses off the shelf GM parts you can find at any auto parts store.

Hi Ethan, Thank you so much for your message! I will look into the Howell setup - I've not heard of it before! Andy and L

@@SoulofaSeeker it's popular with GM vehicles of course and also Jeeps, but they do others as well. They have a kit for the dodge 440 which I think is what you guys have. I'm planning on doing something similar on my GMC in the near future.

Hi guys just watched this! Looked like a mighty chilly day in VA. It’ll all come together one part at a time.

Hi, George! One part at a time -- Couldn't agree more! It will be a slow (very, very slow) finish to the end . . . and then that's only half of our journey haha Thank you so much for watching and writing! We appreciate the support! L (and Andy)

Odds are that there wasn't actually aluminum and steel. It was probably that they "leaded" in the bung from the factory. It is pretty much like soldering. It was also used to do body work before "bondo" was widely used.

Hi Bryan! Thanks for your message! Yea, I kinda thought it might be lead after we'd got home. Not sure if it was done new or at some point in its life but at least it's fixed now! : ) We've got plenty of bondo on our Cortez too which we've been picking away at in parts! Thanks! Andy (and L)
