you forgot to mention that when boiling an egg you have to boil it for 5 minutes for a runny yolk, 8 minutes for a half-boiled yolk and 10 minutes for a fully boiled yolk. And don't forget to put your egg in ice water immediately after taking it out.

SPENCER! I've been subbed to him forever, both his lawn mowing and power washing! He's awesome. And it's so true. I can watch one of his videos and it gives me what I need to ping my ADHD to then go and do something organizational in my house, or to get a task done, that I normally wouldn't have done that day. I love his videos.

I have noticed TV channels are playing up with some of this content idea as well. Using the storytelling aspect more so than what it used to be. There was a marathon that mom and I were watching while she was doing chemo of "No Demo Reno" which was using a *lot* of story telling elements as well as some other youtube tricks such as termology from the Millenial/Gen Z and doing the pointing thing with words at certian points. And her long time goal is to show "You don't need to demo the origonal layout of the house to make the house even better than you had it before." Instead she opted to other problem solving methods to handling the issues the people had. This was on HGTV if you're curious to look it up yourself.

The Ghost Town guy has pretty high paying investors, he has used his followers as unpaid labourers and there is a pretty good indication (in my opinion don't come for me) that the fire that burned down the old building (that he wanted to restore in order for it to be authentic) wasn't as much of an accident as he wants us to believe, so I think there are big differences in the two types of videos 😅

THere is definitely an appeal to seeing people do their jobs very competently. Not so long ago I stumbled on a channel of an aussie guy just unclogging pipes and it was both mesmerising to watch, plus his personality and accent made it even more amusing to watch. As for the ghost town guy, I heard about him, but not in a positive light. Someone did some deeper dive on him, about how he might've set some of that old town on fire just to clear it or how he used his viewers' labour possibly without proper compensation, so things sound a bit iffy there.

That ghost town is basically a scam. Maggie Mae fish have a video called off grid grifters where someone looked into him and he have a bunch of backing and the guy who “came to help him” have stake in the hotel they’re making where some old building just happened to burn down

For the ghost town content, I think it comes down to motivation. We all have life goals we want to achieve and the only way to achieve our goals is through motivation. A lot of us tend to give up on our goals half way but those who do make it to the end are the ones who do feel a sense of accomplishment. The ghost town will take a long time to rebuild but the journey will be a life changing experience. There are always gonna be some challenges along the way but it will be satisfying once overcoming challenges. Unfortunately for some or most of us, we don't have that kind of motivation to achieve goals. It does inspire us but we just need a little push every now and then
