If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that Reddit is basically 4chan 2.0 nowadays. They either got a great point or is full of shit XD This is basically the same sentiment people had when Rich Campbell cleared Ultimates when his teammates basically instructed him on what to do for certain mechanics. While, sure he had a guiding hand, he still put in the work to actually do his part. To which I can only say- "Defining your worth by clearing an MMO's hardest content is a recipe for stupidity." I don't know, I prefer to make and have friends in my video games... If helping someone in any game gets them hooked on a game mode, that's one more person to play with, and a good thing. Everyone has to start from somewhere.

As someone who just did UWU PF on EU on my alt, It was quite the similar experience as doing it on NA 2 years back. Nothing actually changed. Those who think c41 is actually c41 are dumb. There is a common knowledge that anything colored yellow (join only duty completed people) will be a disaster. So most of the people who already cleared and have 2 brain cells, join duty completion parties. So even if its not c41 it is most likely be half the party who already cleared anyway. Cause in re-clears you have the " im the static raider, i know these mechs better than you, my way is the way" people, and the "imma parse and die 30 times just to get funny numbers" people. I know people on EU that cleared UWU between 100-800 times and they still come and help people to clear, they only join clear parties because its what you do, you help people. Very similar for TEA. I cant talk for DSR or TOP as i havent done them yet, but I dont even understand what is wrong with c41s. THis is a pve game not pvp. We are playing WITH each other, not against... why does it hurt others that someone else clears an ultimate???

it's good to help other clear! and also, having a group of others who already know how to do mechanics is helpful for the c41, because when a mistake happens it is easier to identify what the issue was that caused the wipe! in ultimates, it's super easy to wipe if you have like 5 learners struggling - ANYTHING could cause a wipe in ults because they're so difficult. but when it's a c41, it's usually you making the mistake - and you can identify what the issue is, and be taught by 7 other people who have done the fight a million times EXACTLY what caused the problem in the first place.

I cleared UWU when i was a sprout, before starting EW as a challenge for myself, i studied the fight, my job and all, managed to get a clear and even found a static in which they all were really kind and helped me to improva as a player, man that guy is ABSURDLY salty

PF has always been a mixed bag. This is why I just raid in statics. Even in statics, I've created groups to help people clear. Clear for 1, for 2, for 4, for 6. Been there, also been the person to get help. OP is on some weird high horse.

I like doing c41, mechanic wise i don't think you can be really carried esp for TOP, DSR, TEA, except UWU/COB it can be 7-man clear now. But i would rather do it for people who actually know all the mechanics and do it properly like in 25:30 or at least not too many mistakes especially from previous phases, since for my understanding c41 means the 1 already know how to everything but only shaking on the final phase which is normal. So, i don't just release a trap / terrorist into totem party, 'IF' they become a trap not only totem party but in another c41 5m gil for clear, i mean yeah they cleared, but i don't think they're consistent enough to join another c41, you know what i mean. i would feel bad for others because i was part of releasing a trap. I'm not saying it's bad to help people, but better to choose who you want to help. Another downside of it, is when someone you helped, becomes really proud, to the point they think they're the best player in the game, i saw it happens mostly from UWU/COB clear, yeah the easy one apparently, but whatever, people are people.

There's a difference between someone being able to clear an ultimate and someone who can reclear an ultimate. I think these totem run parties that almost always fail in pf can be remedied by adding a minimum times cleared filter. But that's my 2 cents

I think the author is not wrong entirely. Overall, I think it's good that people who have cleared stick around because otherwise there would not be that many people doing the fights and PF would take longer to fill. However, in every ultimate that I've cleared with my static (a group of people who were all fresh to each ultimate when we did them), I feel I've learned a lot in the process since we had to deal with basically every possible way to wipe in the fight before we finally won. But in C41s, there is an expectation of one-shotting the last phase or the last couple phases, and I get the sense that a lot of the people who get their clears that way don't get the opportunity to see everything go wrong in every possible way. They probably don't know about how to deal with some of those things going wrong. If they keep going in PF and help others get clears, they will get that opportunity, but I don't know how many of those people actually stick around. Ulti is fun, and I think struggling for a while with each fight makes the clear sweeter. The C41 culture is all about making clearing the fights as efficient as possible and idk how I feel about that in general. I know that I, personally, would prefer to clear with a group of people who haven't cleared yet because we get to learn together and cross the finish line together, instead of getting to the second to last phase and then hosting C41s to clear the fight ASAP.

That post is crazy. You can’t get carried in at least the newer ultimates. I will agree that PF is pretty bad right now cause of the time we’re in just before a new expansion, but that doesn’t mean people are just getting carried. I can’t blame people for signing up for clear squads tbh. PF is so full of memes that at some point you get sick of it and want to actually prog/clear. I’m kind of considering it myself having been stuck on P6 of DSR for over a month. I’ve practiced the hell out of the phase in game and with the sim but it’s really rare to find a group that can even make it there. If I were to sign up with something like Saus then I would at least potentially get through it.

Thought that post was gonna be by Arthars at first lmao. This by the guy who wants echo in ultimates and shorter savage tiers with less content. Your average horribly out of touch Twitter/Reddit take. It's a tab target mmo, it's not that hard. Any content can be cleared by anyone if they put some time and effort into it. You just learn the fight and then do it. That's like gatekeeping Plants vs Zombies. Let people enjoy the game, jesus. Anyone should be able to do any content if they want to.

I get the sentiment, but it's not about c41 imo. Definitely not all people that clear ultimate are equal, one person may clear it in a week another may clear it in a year. The person who takes a year to clear is probably mechanically not as quick on their feet, so the longer the game is out the more people join the ultimate club, hence it appears like the quality of ultimate players is dropping, which is probably true. The only way i can see how c41 may be hurting PF is that it takes proggers out of other PFs that may need proggers. But the real problem is that Ultimate is actually way too easy. And I heard of AM for the first time yesterday in a xeno clip, i didn't even know what it was and i do agree that it's pretty despicable. I also agree that people using it don't deserve the clear, same as with ACT triggers. Just something about assisted playing is wrong to me. There's probably a reason it's against the rules. And they probably didn't design the fight to be done that way. And I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to do the fights without AM if you wanna do them without AM?

Too much damage is already a problem with Garuda awakening in UWU, imagine it with echo too. Would be a funny shitshow that's for sure.

I think these clear squads are doing great work. Sure, there will be players who dont care about learning and only want their shiny weapon and title, but I think most players want to do them for themselves and maybe help others afterwards.

This redditor puts ultimates in a pedestal. They are hard fights, yes but only that. There is no "deserving the clear". I've cleared all ultimate with static in a relatively good time (a little above 1 month proggring on both TOP and DSR) and I don't give a shit on who clears it.

you must be new to mmo's. welcome. the quality of random players is going down, by that people, myself included, mean the skill level. how many times have you been in group and find half the group has no idea how the fight works or even how to play their class. ask around and see how many people you find that don't know what a rotation is. i think the single worst example i've run into was someone brought on as the ot. she didn't know the fights, refused to taunt on swaps. and when asked wtf was going on she replied "she didn't want to taunt because that wasn't fun" she refused to learn the fights because that wasn't fun. she refused to learn her tank because it wasn't fun. she's the friggen ot!! part of the problem stems from the general level of self interest and selfishness in society atm. but i think it also comes from the misinterpretation of the word game. while yes these are games, and they're played for fun. when you involve other people it moves into sport. the other people in that group set aside their time to run that content and succeed. if you sign up for that team you're committing to not waste everyones time. how selfish is it to join the group and expect everyone there to cater to your whims and carry you through the content? stop enabling selfish people. stop telling them it's ok to expect it. if souls has taught is one thing, it's skill up or gtfo.
